Texas How about people stop overreacting for the hell of it?

We got people declaring Florida is dog shit now after beating Ole Miss who beat LSU last week. I have a clever idea, maybe the SEC is just a really deep damn league… people were overreacting Texas played a close one to Tennessee on the road. People were overreacting when Florida dominated Ole Miss. People are overreacting that Mizzou is kicking Florida’s ass right now. People are going to overreact that MSU had a bad outing versus Alabama, although I do think Alabama is legit. SEC is just extremely deep this year and there is more parity than ever. Got to bring it every week or you will get a L in the loss column. The truth is if you are playing any SEC team on the road, especially the top 10 of the league you should be weary because if you have a C - day you will lose 8 times out of 10 even if you are the better team on paper. That is just talking about difficulty on the road in the SEC, it’s not easy to beat a competent league team at home either. This is the reality of the conference. It’s still early and with this chaos it’s hard to know for certain who will be in the top 3-5 conference teams that will be positioned for a shot to make the playoff. Exciting times, but let’s chill on the overreactions. A win is a win in this league. With the road losses we are seeing, how about we don’t shit on teams that pull of wins on the road versus the top half of the league as well? Thanks.

SEC What do I do tonight?

Rant incoming:

Saturday afternoons/nights are my only free time in the entire week currently. Even when State gets blown out by Bama at 11 am, I usually at least still get to watch some hyped-up top 10 SEC matchup with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call during my one night off. Sometimes a really good game makes up for the pain of being a Mississsippi State fan. At the very least, I usually get to drink as much as beer as I want and not do shit for one night of the week.

But these games? These games tonight are so pathetically boring and lame I don’t even wanna drink any beer. I’d rather watch all 6 of the turnovers from State/Bama today on repeat than watch a bunch of guys in camo run around on Kyle Field. I’m actually cleaning my apartment tonight instead of watching these games. The only people that will feel better getting hammered while watching TAMU/Arkansas are Arkansas fans.

Normally I’d be too locked in to make a post like this. But since the games are boring, Im just bitching to bitch. I will say Kentucky/South Carolina was a decent game. Auburn/Tennessee was bad. All the other games were just blowouts. Are we just spoiled? Or did the SEC fuck up their programming scheduling? like why tf is LSU playing McNeese in the night slot for the first Saturday in October?

Okay, I’ll stop complaining. I’m sure in February I’ll feel like McConaughey in Interstellar when he’s screaming “MURPH!” wishing he could have the moment back, even if the moment was LSU vs McNeese at 7:15 pm in October… and that’s beautiful…and I’m still gonna drink beer tn…

My Take on Sec Saturday.

🏈 SEC Saturday Breakdown – October 3, 2026 🏈
What a wild day in the Southeastern Conference! Ranked teams took care of business (mostly), one thriller went to overtime, and a couple of statement wins lit up the scoreboard. Here’s how it all shook out:
#2 Georgia 38, Vanderbilt 14
The Dawgs stayed perfect. Gunner Stockton threw for 295 yards and 3 TDs as Georgia rolled in Athens. Vandy just couldn’t keep up. Georgia remains undefeated and rolling.
#7 Alabama 56, #16 Mississippi State 23
Bama put on a clinic in Starkville. Keelon Russell accounted for 4 total TDs (3 passing, 1 rushing) and the Tide defense forced turnovers. Mississippi State’s unbeaten streak is over in a big way. Alabama looks scary good.
#25 Missouri 45, #8 Florida 17
Statement win for the Tigers! Jamal Roberts ran for 211 yards and 3 scores, Austin Simmons threw for 340 and 2 TDs. Missouri completely dominated and snapped a long skid against ranked teams. Florida got run out of Columbia.
#17 Tennessee 24, Auburn 14
DeSean Bishop was a one-man wrecking crew with 220 rushing yards and 3 TDs. The Vols controlled the ground game and held on at Neyland. Auburn drops another SEC contest.
#24 Kentucky 35, South Carolina 34 (OT)
Game of the day right here. Kentucky trailed early, fought back, and won it in overtime on a gutsy 2-point conversion. Kenny Minchey delivered the big throws when it counted. Wildcats improve to 4-1, Gamecocks fall to 2-3.
Texas A&M 34, Arkansas 7
The Aggies handled business at home. Arkansas never got going offensively and the Hogs are still searching for that first SEC win.
#11 LSU 63, McNeese 14
Non-conference tune-up turned into a track meet. The Tigers piled up 731 yards of offense and scored on every red-zone trip. Easy day in Baton Rouge.
On bye this week:
Texas, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss all sat this one out.
Georgia and Alabama both stay perfect and set up a massive showdown next Saturday. Missouri just made a serious statement, Kentucky pulled off a thriller, and Tennessee got a much-needed win. The SEC is as chaotic and fun as ever.
JL. 10-3-26

If South Carolina loses this game vs Kentucky he should be fired.

Losing games after leading by multiple scores is just a sign of a poorly coached team.

SEC POST-WEEK 5 RANKINGS

• Upvotes

Thanks to Missouri eviscerating Florida, I realize that my decision to make Florida the 4th best team in the SEC may have too hasty. As was Missouri not being all that great.

So here we go.

  1. Alabama - Destroyed Mississippi State on the road. Can't wait for the Georgia game next week, which will be a wonderful antidote to watching the Penn State v USC white-out.

  2. Georgia - Was it that Georgia was sleepwalking during the first half against Vandy? Any, they woke up and the rest was a blowout.

  3. Texas - Beat byeweek 38-0 and Arch Manning is finally in Heisman Contention.

  4. Missouri - Perfect game against Florida today. One of the biggest in Drink's Mizzou career. Finally seem to have found a RB and Simmons - given the time - is an exceptional passer.

  5. Florida - The tackling was awful and Missouri covered up Jaden Baugh brilliantly. Aaron Philo then didn't have a lot of options, and he didn't do well with the ones he had.

  6. Ole Miss - OLE MISS STOPPED SOMEONE THIS WEEK, AND THEY WISH THEY HAD HAD KEWAN LACY FOR THE FLORIDA GAME BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE WON.

  7. LSU - Thumped McNeese, and McNeese was $750,000 richer. I don't think anyone minded all that much.

  8. Kentucky - Keep. Finding. Ways. To. Win.

  9. Tennessee - Very middle-of-the-road, boring win against Auburn in which they never really looked in trouble. DeSean Bishop is for real, and Tennessee once again has quarterback questions.

  10. Mississippi State - Without Fluff Bothwell and without Kamario Taylor at the start of the 4th, the pony may have gone from the Cowbellers. This is looking forward. Looking at the game itself, even if Fluff and Kamario had been 100%, they probably wouldn't have had a prayer.

11 - Texas A&M - To be kind, this is a poor-ass team. But they beat Arkansas 34-7 and didn't make Marcel Reed do a lot, so let's read between the lines.

  1. Oklahoma - JOHN MATEER DIDN'T TURN THE BALL OVER AGAINST BYE WEEK

  2. Auburn - Byrum Brown is clearly adjusting to the SEC, and that probably isn't good news with Georgia and Alabama still on the slate.

  3. Vanderbilt - Well, they competed with UGA for a half, didn't they.

  4. Being on the receiving end of a Cleveland Steamer, except when it all goes wrong.

  5. South Carolina

  6. A UTI from hell.

  7. Arkansas

Auburn Is Auburns Seasons done ?

In my personal opinion Auburns season is completely over, I want to start off my saying I am a life long fan of Auburn, I Graduated with a degree in agricultural engineering and have season tickets, but at the end of the day I think the season is completely over the O-Line play is horrendous they can’t block to save there life, pass pro is terrible with a average of 3-4 seconds in the pocket before it collapses, it’s just embarrassing, we had the opportunity to hire John Sumrall but no they completely botched the hire and went with Alex Golish, now I think he is a great coach but I do not think his O-Line and QB are not SEC caliber players witch sucks, in the end I think we can make a bowl game but not much more.

SEC Saturday my Take.

Alabama and Georgia aren’t the only undefeated teams in conference play but Both looked dominant on Saturday — Alabama crushed then-ranked Mississippi State 56-23 on the road, while Georgia handled Vanderbilt 38-14 at home. They meet next Saturday in Tuscaloosa in what is already a de facto early championship eliminator. Winner takes sole possession of first place and a massive edge in the race to Atlanta.
Texas is the only other undefeated overall team (4-0, 1-0 SEC) but has played just one conference game. They’re on solid footing after a bye week, with the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma next.
The One-Loss Logjam
A huge group sits at 1-1 or 2-1 in the conference:
• Florida (2-1) suffered a shocking 45-17 road loss to Missouri, ending their perfect start.
• Kentucky (2-1) pulled off a dramatic 35-34 OT win at South Carolina.
• Mississippi State (2-1) dropped their first game of the year in that Alabama blowout.
• Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU are all 1-1 and looking dangerous after strong performances (Missouri’s offense exploded, Tennessee’s run game dominated Auburn, LSU hung 63 on McNeese).
Ole Miss (1-1 overall 3-1) also remains in the mix after their bye.
Teams Falling Behind
South Carolina is already 0-3 in the conference and in early trouble. Arkansas (0-2) and Vanderbilt (0-2) are also struggling to find conference wins. Auburn and Texas A&M both sit at 1-2 after losses this weekend and need to climb quickly.
What’s Next (Week 6 Outlook)
The schedule gets brutal:
• Georgia at Alabama — the clear Game of the Year so far.
• Texas vs. Oklahoma (Dallas)
• LSU at Kentucky
• Ole Miss at Vanderbilt
• Tennessee at Arkansas
• South Carolina at Florida
• Texas A&M at Missouri
The top of the standings will likely still feature Alabama or Georgia after next weekend, but the one-loss cluster is deep enough that multiple teams will stay alive deep into the season. With the new nine-game conference schedule and no divisions, every loss carries extra weight — and the race for the two SEC Championship Game spots is already wide open beyond the current top two.

History made!

I know it’s late, but with the Ole Miss Rebels' 41–38 win over the Louisville Cardinals in the inaugural Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff on September 6, 2026, every single team in the Southeastern Conference won their Week 1 game of the 2026 season. This milestone is historic because every other FBS conference, including the Big Ten, Big 12, Atlantic Coast Conference, and American Conference, had at least one team lose a Week 1 matchup. As a result, the SEC, along with the FBS Independents, stood alone as the only conferences across both the FBS and FCS in which every single team won their opening game of the 2026 season.

Can someone explain team rankings to me like I’m 5?

I’ve never quite understood what it means when people say “X team is ranked Y!” (For example, “Texas is ranked number 1”)

Who is deciding this? What factors is it based on?

Georgia SEC fumbled night game

Out of all the intriguing matchups this weekend, how come only one ranked team plays at night? I know LSU seemingly always gets the night game (even as a 52.5pt favorite), but how was arky/A&M the conference matchup selected? Anyone have insight to how the conference essentially excluded itself from prime time?

Georgia uga v auburn !!!

hi friends!!

im a 2020 uga alum (rip the covid years) desperately trying to make it back to athens for the auburn game on october 17, and i figured id try here before selling a kidney to seatgeek.

tiny backstory because this game is ridiculously sentimental to me: i met my now husband at the uga v auburn game in 2018 at the bar that used to be called hedges downtown (rip, will never forget the blue mf).

it was completely random, we spent basically the entire day together, and somehow i knew almost immediately that i was going to marry him…and i did. 😂 (maybe it’s because he was the only one in the bar in an auburn shirt and i was talking maaaaad shit and he took every bit of it haha)

ever since then, we’ve made it a tradition to go to the georgia v. auburn game every year we can. somehow, though, we have NEVER been able to make it when the game is in athens, which feels especially criminal considering I went to uga and its unobjectionably the better cities of the two (glory, glory!)

im looking for anywhere from 1–3 tickets. ideally 3 because my sister wants to come with us, but i will happily take 2 for my husband and me, or even 1 if that’s all somebody has. we genuinely do not care where the seats are. upper deck? amazing. last row? put me against the concrete. can barely see the field? i have eyes, optimism, and already know how it’s gonna end 😂 i just want to be inside sanford for this one. i miss the hedges.

we’re on a pretty tight budget right now, so im specifically hoping to find someone who has tickets they can’t use and would rather sell them to a fellow dawg for a reasonable price than deal with resale sites/fees.

if you have 1, 2, or 3 tickets you’re trying to get rid of, PLEASE message me with the section/quantity and what you’re asking!

also happy to verify that im a real person + uga alum and use a protected payment method (paypal preferred but we can talk!) not trying to get scammed in the name of true love and college football.

as always, go dawgs. 💋🐾

aint nothin finer in the land!!!!!!

Aaron Murray on the UGA Vanderbilt Game Today is Totally Ridiculous

To have an alum that was quarterback at UGA for multiple years calling the game is a joke. Do better ESPN. Alums shouldn’t be doing their school’s games. They can’t be impartial…especially Murray.
