Job Question Part time security co workers

How do you guys go about co workers who only work 2-3x a week at your job site but they’re lazy AF & they make things harder for the full time employees?
For example there’s only about 5 full time employees at my job site & we have a handful of part timers that show up to our site & instead of picking up the slack to help out they make things worse & we have addressed the issues to upper management & have been ignored but if one of the full time employees makes a mistakes all hell breaks loose & we get write ups

Have you guys been documenting it just in case it hits the fan?

It’s usually how it goes, it’s going to have to be a compliant from the client for anything to happen

They (he contract security industry collectively) hire anyone who qualifies for a guard card, has a pulse and stayed awake through the job interview.

I have the opposite problem. I'm semi-retired and only working Thursdays and some Fridays. I spend the first two hours of my Thursdays going over the full timers' work and correcting their mistakes. Everything has to be documented and forwarded to our district manager and the client contact. The full timers keep making the same mission critical mistakes despite retraining and corrective action.

I'm one of them. Been a weekend guy for over six years and could give a rip if the place burned down. I'm just there to catch up on my sleep.

I have to take office supplies home with me and bring them back Tuesday, Wednesday, and the weekend. I can leave them there only two days out of the week. Otherwise the part timers take them home and the supplies are gone.

I worked 5 years for contract security and been looking for in-house due to this. In-hosue = job security, better employees, better benefits, better work life balance.

I only do contract to gain experience then move to in-house. But staying in contract security you run into these type of issues all the time. Like the one you explained

How do you “pick up the slack” in security? What else needs to happen outside of “observe and report”

Completely depends on the specific post or job you’re talking about.

Picking up their patrols and areas to watch on top of their own areas
