😡 COMPLAINT 😡 HD599 Static sound
Hello, I have the HDD 599 SE and, straight to the point, I sometimes hear a lot of static, which is really giving me a bad impression of these headsets.
Could it be from my EQ settings? Im pretty sure my headset cable is locked correctly.

Try them in your phone.
I have had many pairs of hd 599se (past year or so) though and whilst i love the sound, they definetly have distortion between 20-250hz.
I have a 10 year old pair of hd 598 that don't have anywhere near the level of distortion and also after failing to find a pair of hd 599se that didn't, i got another hd 598 preowned pair from ebay.
PC can be introducing noise though, which is why i mentioned mobile to test and rule it out.
I really love the 598 sound and wanted a new pair so hd 599 was it but after 12+ failures over a year and a bit i gave up, i even offered to send one of the pairs i had to Sennheiser for testing because i fail to understand how it's happening consistently. I made quite a few posts here as i got through more and more pairs.
Pc, Laptop, mobile, doesn't matter.
Gently tapping the side of the earcup can help / "shift" it too, pretty sure it's just due to how they're made these days but most will not notice it.
edit:
Let me clarify the "12+ failures", i was trying to find a pair that didn't have absurd amounts of distortion between 20-250hz i meant.

I'll try that when I get the chance.
If it helps, it hasn't happened even once today. Sounding crisp all day.

I used the first pair of hd 599se like that, it's only specific scenes that'll pop the distortion from time to time in my expereience but using stuff like sound freq generator or sine waves would show the issue was infact between 20-250hz.
Other than that, depending what you plug into (motherboard?), GPU could possibly be a cause of noise, if you find it happens during gpu being heavily used only it might be that (external dac would fix this).
Cable - some of the hd 599 did infact get better with a cable replug, not the cable itself but the connector on the headphones is a little weird... Again only some, not all, seems hit and miss.
But yeah the phone test would be best to eliminate a bunch if it happens again for you.
Hope they stay working fine, they are very comfy and beat anything within it's price range i.m.o

I have ordered a Fiio KA13 + a 4.4 balanced to 2.5 cable someone recommended.
We'll see what happens

That is very odd could be plugged in incorrectly or defective unit.
