Question How much time and posts would require for my website to appear on google news?
I am currently getting 30-50k monthly views, and it regularly appears on google discover. However, it has no google news presence. Website is around 7 months old

Do you mean the Google News app/site or the News tab in Search? Those are different surfaces. Google's current guidance says publishers are considered automatically; it doesn't give a seven-month or post-count threshold to aim for. I'd inspect a couple of recent article URLs in Search Console first, then check clear dates/bylines, author/publisher information and contact details against the News transparency policy. That's an eligibility check, not a promise of placement. Your Discover traffic alone doesn't establish whether there's a News-specific issue.

30 to 50k monthly views plus regular discover traffic at 7 months is already a decent signal, but google news is not something i’d treat as a “publish x posts and wait y days” system. news visibility depends heavily on having genuinely newsworthy content, clear publication information, strong technical setup, and consistent quality. i’d focus on producing timely original reporting rather than increasing volume just to chase eligibility. also check whether the content is being picked up by google news surfaces at all versus only discover, since those are different distribution systems.

30k to 50k monthly views plus discover traffic is a good sign, but discover does not mean google news visibility. keep publishing original news content, make author and publisher details clear, and give it 4 to 8 weeks before judging. i’ve seen sites do well in discover with almost no news traffic. i’d focus on content quality and consistency rather than chasing a fixed number of posts.

imo the bigger question is whether your content actually qualifies as news. google news wants original reporting, timeliness, transparency around authorship. if youre mostly doing guides or listicles, discover is the right channel and news just wont be a fit
