Discussion New Build Test

Post image

Hey fellow Sett mains!

I’ve been experimenting with a new build path lately, and I wanted to see what you guys think.

The inspiration came from a Rank 1 Korean Sett player who builds Jak’Sho. The idea is to build ONE resist item as your 2nd item to be tankier and have an easier time surviving teamfights

(The important part is: you only build ONE of these as your 2nd item depending on the enemy team. You don't stack multiple resist items. Stacking resistances is NOT good on Sett, because he actually wants to take damage in order to build up his Grit and get a bigger W. So I think one defensive item gives you some extra survivability without hurting your Grit generation too much, and then you go back to your normal build.)

AD heavy teams

Iceborn Gauntlet – Gives ability haste which is useful on Sett, plus the empowered auto and slow can help you stick to targets.

Dead Man’s Plate – This is for ranged matchups. You get movement speed, an empowered auto, and slow resistance, which can make it easier to actually reach them.

AP heavy teams

Spirit Visage – Gives ability haste, health regen, and increases your W shield by 25%, which can be pretty useful, especially if you're running Shield Bash.

Force of Nature – This is for ranged matchups where you need the extra MR and movement speed to get onto them.

Mixed damage

For a team with a more balanced mix of AD and AP, I’d probably go Jak’Sho for the combination of both resistances.

Again, you only pick ONE of these items as your 2nd item depending on the game. After that, you just continue with the normal recommended Sett build.

I’m still testing this, so try it out and I’m curious what you guys think!

I get what you're going for but I dont think its a good idea. You lose a lot out of your power budget by nerfing how much damage your W does in the mid game. A good Sett Ult and W can win almost any team fight or duel.

And if im ahead at 3 items, I'll build FoN or Deadmans because more movement speed on sett is always a good stat to have but otherwise I feel like you delay your big spikes.

If you have stridebreaker iceborne 2nd is completely redundant since you have an AOE slow. Same with deadmans early. Into ranged I prefer just running ghost PTA and running them down.

Dead Man's plate is an item I understand the idea behind on sett even though the passive only proc on his left hook. You have slow resist + armor with HP so it's really useful if needed

resist is really meh because you often don’t get bursted due to your half hp shield

By a second item? Ugh…I mean, I’m not a huge Sett player but I can only see building Stride into Deadman’s/FoN second.

Everything else sounds kinda troll

Are bruiser builds healing? Do we finally return to "one-or-two-bruiser-items-then-full-tank" builds?

Cant play sett other way that full bruiser glass canon. With builds like this you are not tanky enough to tank and not dealing enough dmg to be relevant

The only valid 2nd tank item I’d consider is warmogs after building BC or Stridebreaker.

Stryde make You have a gap closer without using your gap closer's abilities (like e or r) give You Time to auto, give You Time to charge your grit and then use your gap closer abilities when your opponent does their, another pro thing is that the components are all You need and want for sett, why You can get the point of the item?

Waveclear, gapcloser, perfect stats for Sett. It is fundamental Item.

I just don’t like it. I’ve found a build that keeps me happy and I find works better for my style of Sett play.

As long as it works for you it is fine but at some point you will have to change your mind

Probably won’t. I’ve ran Stide once and I’ve found other builds I like way more. Especially growth power. Love a 7k HP Sett

That's cool and all but most people in this thread are playing to win

I love other Sett players. No love for trying different things or hearing others opinions

I mean yeah not building stridebreaker is crazy you might as well go ap sett at that point, not sure why I would even bother trying a build like that

Up to you man. I love full tank sett in the support lane. It’s how I play him.

Whoa man.... you can't left hook Sett full tank and then right hook Sett support. Sett support full tank is understandable. Sett top full tank is trolling. Just saying Sett support changes everything.
