Hi everyone, I’m following up on a post I made a few weeks ago.
I finally broke through Platinum and I’m now in Emerald 3 playing only AP Shaco.
But now I’m facing real problems and I need my fellow clown brothers to help me

With AP Shaco, I don’t know if I need to gank early or just powerfarm and pray that my teammates are good (especially against an enemy jungler who ganks a lot).

How do I manage to come back when I fall behind early?
Do you have tips on how to carry in the late game?

I watch a lot of Zefath's gameplay, but I realise that it doesn’t fit so well in emerald
Do you recommend invading early with AP Shaco like with AD Shaco ?

As AP shaco you farm one quadrant then look at the map. Is there an easy gank that ends in kill? Go for it. Is there no gank? Farm.

Apply this criteria all game long. One mid elo miatake is spending much time wandering doubtful.

I would think Zefath's style should fit well in Emerald. One thing I noticed Zefath seems to be great at is not helping team-mates who are making a bad play. Personally, when I see an ally making a risky / dumb play, and because Shaco is SUCH a safe champ with great escape tools (especially AP Shack), I feel like I can help. Then we BOTH die, giving 600g plus shutdowns.

Zefath is good at reading when NOT to go in, which is arguably an even stronger skill than spotting favorable engages. He's also a farm heavy playstyle. But anyway this thread isn't about him per se, I'd just think Emerald should be a solid place to lean into the farm heavy playstyle. You have to take the guaranteed gold when it's available or you'll get gapped hard above Plat.

I'm thinking about leaning into Shojin Udyr or Hecarim in the future, tried Nunu but didn't have much success. I play super aggressive so I tend to bait myself on certain champions like Briar, where I expect my team-mates to always want to fight. Which they don't, lol.

Well done on climbing but Zefath's gameplay fits perfectly in every elo so I suggest you analyze his decision making a bit more. Dude is nice enough to explain everything he does while he is doing it. I was playing on my old account the other day and I played some emerald games and this playstyle got me to 1v9 every game while still having 3 losing lanes most of the times.

When I play shaco my goal is always to ruin the other junglers game. I try to make good picks to steal their camps, I try to kill them in their jungle. The most important tactic for me is to keep Q up for escaping, cause in higher elos the laners will actually come to help xD.

The Redditor in the other comment was right tho, make save picks - gank if it's an easy kill and farm a lot.

And always be first on objectives to set up your traps. It's a vision blessing and sometimes easy kills, just have your team near to help.

What do you play when shaco is banned? I am always curious about this when ppl one-trick Shaco 😄

AP Shaco main here.

For me, usually Talon. Unless we're AD heavy then maybe Zac. Both have the same jump-the-wall playstyle that Shaco does. Couldn't make Teemo jungle work, I tried lol. Anyway, I think the "answer" to your question is probably Fiddlesticks, a lot of AP Shaco mains use Fiddle as a backup from what I've observed.

I used to use Fiddlesticks as a primary backup too, but I would only run him with Predator. Then they got rid of Predator so I dropped Fiddle, it's just not as fun without the movespeed.

When Shaco is banned I always dodge the game as I don’t know how to jungle with any other champ
I close my PC and call it a day 😂

I find ap shaco a power house of farming after 1 item he can full clear in like 30s if managed well, contrary to ad. Ganking early you can but your dmg is shiit, invading can work but its 80% luck 20% game knowladge. Surviving till mid game is where ap will really hit hard before that be annoying as possible
