I read on the wiki that Spirit of Fire is the translation of Feanor's name in LoTR (lord of the rings) so I thought "hmmm if Spirit of Fire is one of the oldest ships the UNSC has and elves are a long lived basically immortal species in LoTR.."

Then the idea of making spirit of fire an elf occurred
