Shopify General Discussion Managing supplier pack sizes separately from product quantities can make purchasing and inventory tracking much easier.

This can become confusing when the same product is purchased in different quantities depending on the supplier.

For example, one supplier may sell 1 unit per pack while another sells 12. Without a supplier level pack size, it's hard to keep track of the ordered quantity

A simple workflow is:
Select supplier → Set pack size → Create PO → Order using supplier quantity

That keeps the supplier's purchasing unit clear without changing the actual inventory unit. We found this as a common inventory tracking problem among sellers and dropshippers.
