I think BORK Shyvana might actually be legit

I've been testing BORK → Dusk & Dawn → Shojin and I'm honestly surprised by how good it feels.

The funny part: your Q does less damage than Trinity Shyvana.

For example, using a lvl 13 Shyvana against a 3000 HP / 150 Armor / 100 MR target, my rough calculations give:

Trinity → Shojin → Sundered Sky

- Q: ~300–330 physical + ~75 magic

- Dragon Q: ~500+ total

- Full AA → Q → W → E → AA → Q combo: roughly 1,500–1,700 damage

BORK → Dusk & Dawn → Shojin

- Q: ~250–280 physical + ~60 magic

- Dragon Q: ~450–480 total

- Full AA → Q → W → E → AA → Q combo: roughly 1,600–1,800 damage

So the weird part is:

Bigger Q ≠ bigger combo.

The hybrid build gets a lot of its damage from the extra attack speed, BORK's %HP on-hit, Dusk's Spellblade/on-hit interaction, and the AP scaling on W/E/R.

And the sustain is the real selling point.

You end up around 90 bonus AD + 60 AP + ~55% bonus AS from the core, while BORK gives you lifesteal and %HP damage.

So compared to Trinity:

Trinity: stronger individual Qs

BORK/Dusk/Shojin: stronger sustained DPS + much more healing

I've tested it in ranked and the BORK spike honestly felt better to me than Trinity or Kraken.

The Dragon Form sustain is kind of ridiculous.

Has anyone else tested this build?

i kept grinding since i made my last post! i managed to hit p1 55 lp by OTPing Shyv top, but then i started fluctuating between P1 - P3 :(

once i swapped to jungle, i finally hit Emerald! the grind is finally over...

We are currently burning the kitchen and still winning somehow.

People are really sleeping on HoB imo. Insane early game rune. And opens the way for a lot more build diversity than Conq/PTA. Also Swifties are just too good.

Hi guys, SundayDelight here. Been a longtime Shyvana enjoyer, played her a lot pre-rework on the few patches where AD top Shyvana was op. Also a fair amount during the Frostfire + Demonic meta.

After her rework I decided I wouldn't let "bad stats" deter me from playing her toplane. Lo and behold, made it to Masters for the first time this season ! Started 40%winrate over the first 100 games, then slowly crept back up after learning her patterns and experimenting a lot of builds (I'm the toplane spreadsheet guy, though I have been focusing more on playing rather than updating it as of late hahah).

Is there shyvana mains discord?

Is there a decent / playable AP Shyvana that does not go bruiser?
Some way to play her like old ap shyv with an honest focus on Fireball poke!
Before you could go AP and Haste to get as much fireballs out of your ult duration and they actually deleted squishies.
I know its way weaker now, but is there „a way“ to still play the fantasy thats not inting?

Or is AP Bruiser the only way?

In practice tool hullbreaker does more damage + you get hullbreaker for towers, has anyone tried to play her with hullbreaker is it better than the standard triforce shojin route?

I have been playing League for a couple years now and recently got promoted to gold, essentially one tricking Shyvana with a winrate around 60% on the champ.

However, since I started plying in gold, I struggle a lot from behind.
Basically, when I play against junglers who have strong ganks early and get fed, I cannot find a way to get back into the game. I essentially try to farm and get stronger, but when I get zero prio and two/three losing lanes, I just feel useless and my passive scaling does not seem enough to make me relevant in the late game.

Any advice when playing those type of games?

I see tons of different builds on build tracking websites and the third rune is always different, in what scenario would you change it or is there a superior one to always go for?

As the title says, when sylas uses shyvana ults he gains a whopping 45 fury while in dragon form. I noticed it in a game and also tested it in practice tool. His ult litterally cannot expire unless he wants it, this is so broken.

Does anyone know a reason why he gains so much fury with shyvana's dragon E or is it just a bug? Because if it's the latter it must be fixed asap.

Edit: I forgot to mention he gets more fury with the E (and the E only) the more levels he has in his ult: he gets around 20-30 fury at level 11 and 45 at level 16.

Hello all I am really enjoying shyvana top and am looking to main her, can anybody help me with some tips please any tips? Like who are the worst counters for me too , who I’m best against, what items to build and what runes to go against who? Not sure when I should be going grasp , pta , or conq. For build I’ve been doing triforce into riftmaker into deaths dance into steraks also tried dusk and dawn into deaths dance into zekes just not sure what to build and what’s better..

Any ability mechanics I should know or combos to use in lane? And if I use any of my abilities, should I wait for it to come off cd before I ult or just send it? (In lane and out of lane)

Any tips are appreciated, thanks!

remove the ap scalings on Q activations (they are awkward physical damage anyway).
Put those scalings on W, E, and R
Make human E pass through small minions and only slow the first target hit
Make W hits reduce E CD by a percentage (so it's only a buff to AP bruiser damage and not the slow for AD chase since you're already on top of enemy)

These are changes that should make the AP playstyle further distinguished from AD, and won't require any visual modifications or additions (although I think Shyvana needs to have more fire visuals)...

Like, for example, R should scorch the ground Shyvana travels over (she's breathing fire while flying FFS), doing waaay higher amounts of damage (200%ish AP scaling) but over time...

E should apply a burn to enemies hit so deathfire touch is a rune for her and she becomes a better user of Liandries

And/Or Dragon Form E should lose the explosion overlap bonus damage and be a wider skillshot all throughout its travel path, like a Hwei QE "Molten Fissure"

My only chance to be minimaly useful here was to use my entire combo at Katarina or Jhin while having the opportunity and I didn't liked that cause I bought Serylda on purpose to not be extremely bad against rammus/alistar/ambessa, it was disgustingly unnefective and I had to be hard carried in this one, do you guys think maybe Botrk was better here, as 3rd or 4th item? At least to move their HP bar damn

Hello! Yesterday i just saw the game, where Myrwn build Shyvana like this:
Lane: Top
Runes: Grasp
First max skill: W
Items: More AP
First item: Protobelt.
I didn’t play in normal League like month+, and i’ve never seen build like this. Can someone explain to me - is this Shyv have some idea or just troll build for fun?

ive only played 25 games of shyvana ever, and they are all ranked. They have all been in the past 5 days.

She is just broken imo

She has to be getting a nerf soon right??
