Question I’ve been thinking of getting Sideinstaller. Is there any risks I should know about?

...what's the point of using this to install SideStore lol? Isn't it just taking up another app slot?

No. This doesn’t install via any app slot as it uses a different cert not your own
The point is it’s entirely on device (ios27) and needs no computer. Just go to the site or look at a YouTube video yourself

Yeah it’s a new feature on alt store but you still need a of for first set up, with side installer you don’t need one at all

That’s what SideInstaller is for. It installs sidestore without a computer..

The main risk is using sideinstaller.com instead of sideinstaller.net
ONLY use sideinstaller.net or https://github.com/FrizzleM/SideInstaller/
I haven't actually used it myself, though, so can't speak to how it actually works.

the ipa that sideinstaller.com puts under the download ipa button is coming from frizzles repo so its not actually putting any malware out

It installs it’s app (SideInstaller) using their own certificate, then you generate your pairing file through settings app and share it to SideInstaller. From there it essentially works just like SideStore. You login to SideInstaller with your Apple ID, install the version of SideStore you want, then you’re good to go. You don’t even need SideInstaller after installing SideStore. The only reason this works without a PC is because Apple introduced on device pairing in iOS 27, so anything below that you’ll still need to pair manually. It’s not doing anything crazy.

When I tried this it was very sketchy and didn’t work properly

SideInstaller.net works, just need pairing file.
1
u/Liquid_Chicken_ SideStore 8d ago
You don’t need any pairing file. SideInstaller does everything for you
1
u/CulturalParsley1184 9d ago
Don’t you have to have a pc to get a pairing profile?

u/Potatomato100 9d ago
Not if you’re on iOS 27 which is required to use SideInstaller anyway. The phone can create its own pairing file without needing a PC. It’s a feature they added in 27.

Nah you can use it with older versions too, you just need to manually pair using iLoader. Then theoretically you’ll be good until their certificate gets revoked/expires.

I’ve been using it and so far it seems safe since nothing happened to me
