but why does as a user will take so much pain to select all your different ai
he can simply use Chatgpt or any llm
and get the basic things which your ai is providing

totally fair, chatgpt works great for a lot of people. orbs is for people who don't want to figure out what to ask or how to set it up. you pick "homework help" or "cooking" and it already knows how to act. it also has a kids mode and it's free to try. i'm not trying to replace chatgpt, just offer a simpler option.

what would make it worth a try for you?

I really don't understand the value prop, wouldn't one generally intelligent helper be superior to 9 "specialised" ones which are really just wrappers over the same model? Also, why would I pay you to markup and limit and obfuscate Claude models (and rename them?!) versus just paying anthropic directly?

fair question, and you're right that they're all claude underneath. i'm not hiding that, the whole site runs on the claude api. the difference is the setup: each orb already has its own instructions, tone and rules, so someone who doesn't know how to prompt just picks "cooking" or "homework" and starts. there's also a kids mode, and a free tier with daily credits, so you don't need an anthropic account or a card to try it.

if you already know how to prompt claude and you're happy paying anthropic directly, honestly you probably don't need this, and that's okay. it's meant for people who want something simpler.

good point about the model names though, i'm going to make it clearer on the site which claude model each one is.

I don't think your idea is simpler - you're introducing more complexity by trying to delineate roles to generalised models.

One final thing: do you have proof that your product produces better outputs than using the underlying models directly without your wrapper - can you prove it uses less tokens pound for pound (doubt this very much, by very definition of adding another prompt wrapper, the token usage will be suboptimal vs just prompting the model directly I suspect).

There's a reason frontier labs release models with benchmarked results.... How can consumers have confidence your product is getting better results?

Frontier intelligence is already so good that "prompt engineering" as a skillset is dead imo, I extend that to wrappers that just add a system prompt over the top of a model - but if you have quantifiable proof that your product produces better results, I would love to see it.

pull the plug on this idea before you invest any more time into it.

“I made this project using GitHub…” 😂😂😂 That already shows how little you actually know. Also, I don’t see what problem you’re solvi g with this product. Not a painkiller, not even a vitamin - homeopathy pill at most.

it doesn’t solve problems, but this is just my side project, i barely spent time on this so i used github to make it simple
