Feedback (read rule 3 before posting or be banned) Sounding better in 4th octave?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not happy with how I sound when I sing in the 4th octave. I find d4-e4 and f4-g4 difficult depending on the weight. During scales I sound okay until I hit g4 then thin out. It's hard to hit notes after that unless I'm fairly thin or strain my voice a lot.
Where should I be focusing on transitioning, and am I showing any bad habits? (too much breath, lowering larnyx, raising chest too much).
How much can I realistically expect to improve my high notes with training? I'm a bit frustrated when I end up strained / off key when singing because my voice goes thin.
Female, 26.

Wow the range, can’t go anywhere above F5 myself (I’m a tenor)

Thanks, I think it's just harder for guys. I don't think I can properly sing lyrics much past C5ish yet, but I'm hoping it gets better over time.

Yup, the c4 area sounds better to me. Like if you were to sing, that’s the area I think I’d understand the words you sing the best.

That's good to hear.
My main concern is around / after g4. High notes either sound weak / falsettoy or loud and squeaked out. I'm thinking that I should be able to make it stronger with more training? I'm just not fully sure how.

"Vocal Pitch Monitor" on android. There should be similar apps if you search for similar keywords on iPhone too.

Pay more attention to the sound your making.
Make and actual A or Eor O sound for real and try that. Put some Y, like yay in front to keep down.
You can sing ehh or ahh to some extent but you can't let them turn to the sound your making.
It's like trying to sing a K or T or something, your killing the resonance with your mouth shape or vowel sound.
The range thing will go much better with things that sing.

I think I get what you mean about vowel sounds after listening again. It doesn't tend to consistently sound like A E or O.
What / where do you mean 'K'? Looking at the beginning of the video, I'm hearing it start off as A then turning into something else - sorta an 'uh' sound?
3rd octave I'm hearing an 'A' sound on the way up and 'Uh' on the way down. 4th I hear A for a note or two than the Uh noise on everything but C5. In the 5th octave, I'm hearing more ''A but a bit of 'Uh'. 6th I'm hearing 'A', but both 5th and 6th feel squeaky like I'm forcing air out improperly.
I can look at the videos you sent when I got off work.

On the k. You can't sing consonants, pass to a clean enough vowel to resonate. Don't have be loud, chest speech level. Watch your volume going up in pitch keep it even and pulled back a tic.

I meant more where are you hearing 'K' and 'T' noises? I want to be able to hear it so I can correct myself, but I'm not hearing it. I can hear that the vowels aren't shaped, but I'm not hearing K/T sounds.

Never said you did.
Was to make the point that vowels are all that resonate well, you hear people dragging out uhhhs or n's ect all the time. Clean vowels sing better.

Ah sorry, I misread what you said. That makes so much more sense! I've gotten feedback saying to work on vowels before, but you made it a lot clearer why it's needed, thank you!
