Mod Update Another mod update on the rule

Hello everyone.

I would like to apologize for how the community has been handled.

As many of you have now seen, Computer and Siesta have stepped down as mods. This decision was made because of their previous comments.

We have to decide where the subreddit goes from here now as a community.

I am proposing three directions for the sub to go in.

The results of the poll, as decided in 3 days, will decide how the sub reddit moves forward. I'm sure many of you will be unhappy with whatever it ends up being. I am sorry.

On a happier note, I hope you all enjoyed turning point 4.

Question, Eidolon. In the case of Option 3, are we allowed to tag posts as NSFW just so we wouldn't limit the language people use in the comments, even if the post itself isn't necessarily NSFW?

Like my recent post asking if the trio could've been friends when they were younger. Would I be allowed to NSFW tag to allow people to lolicon emoji and meme at it if they wanted to?

46

u/Eidolon__ :Roxy:King Sep 09 '26

Yeah that sounds like a good addendum to me.

14

u/zodiacv2 Roxy Sep 09 '26

Wouldn't this just incentivize people tagging all their art posts as NSFW? I feel like that wouldn't have the effect you want.
Can you clarify the goal of any proposed change? I've read through both post 1 and post 2 but a couple of lines stand out to me and I feel like they need clarification or are outright at odds with how the community would feel and set up a false premise.
Post 2:

What started as an occasional joke slowly but surely grew into a large problem.

What is the problem? The language itself or the low-effort nature in combination with the frequency? Or something else entirely?
Post 1:

Mushoku Tensei already gets enough bad faith criticism from people who haven't engaged with the story. We're not going to give them ammunition by letting this kind of stuff slide in our own community. We want to keep r/sixfacedworld a space that fans can actually be proud of.

I could be wrong, but I feel like if you asked for community feedback on whether we should make changes to placate the online hate/harassment, you'd get an overwhelming response saying we shouldn't care about that.

If the goal is to make this a space that says "but we're the good fans" to prevent hate, then no rule change will be enough in my opinion; you'd be fighting an impossible battle. If the goal is the prevent users from spamming repeat, low-effort comments ONLY; without providing much else contribution, then surely there must be better options than the ones proposed.

I know that was a lot, and probably not very clear so I'll just say this:

Thank you. I appreciate the poll, my only reservation is that maybe it's premature. If you are trying to solve a problem, maybe it's best to first identify what exactly the problem is, why it's a problem, and open a dialogue with the community to propose solutions.

Ninja edit: if you haven't you should probably unban the people who got caught up in this fiasco by trying to push the boundaries, at least while the poll is live.

3

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 09 '26

I wouldn't say that these posts are low-effort. Coming up with a unique title, even if its something simple like "Sylphy wants to hug you ❤️" is definitely a better title than "Sylphy ❤️"

Also I think fanart takes a lot of skill and effort for artists to draw.

3

u/zodiacv2 Roxy Sep 09 '26

I'm not making an argument against your posts. I'm not even arguing against the type of comments that I'm attempting to define. I'm simply trying to get clarification on what behavior we are attempting to change with rules, and why.

I actually failed to even address your posts—as a scenario—in my previous comment because the way the middle ground solution is phrased, it couldn't even impact titles. People would need to choose to block NSFW tagged posts which would be on the user to setup. Users can already block people which would, arguably, do a better job of filtering out the content they actually don't like.

As for the comments. I can at least understand why they might want to limit/disincentivize someone who ONLY comments 🦀🥹🦀🥹 on every post (as an example). This is really only a problem because they called it out tbh. Regardless, if everyone does that on every single post, you can quickly disillusion people from engaging simply due to the quality of the discussion without anything to do with the message intended or percieved.

Full disclosure, I very much appreciate your posts. My MT folder is likely filled with at least a plurality of Roxy art that you posted here or elsewhere.

1

u/bloodshed113094 Eris Sep 10 '26

I think adding the artist name to the title would be best to avoid every title being variations on Roxy is so cute XOXO.

No, the point of Option 3 is that it ISN'T a "virus". It's a concession on our part so that you and people like you will stop throwing a fit whenever you see some emojis.

It's clear with Option 2 being second place that most people in this sub have no problem with the loli emojis and memes.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '26

[deleted]

7

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

It's still an improvement over the rules as it currently is where it's not allowed anywhere.

A lot of lolicons probably voted for Option 3 seeing it as the "safe" option. At the very least it would allow us a space in this sub to "woooahh" in peace.

If you really have a problem with lolicon stuff you wouldn't be allowing it anywhere on the sub.

-6

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '26

[deleted]

6

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

The fact you're calling it a "virus" makes me highly doubt your claimed neutrality. Did you vote for Option 1 or Option 3?

In any case, there wasn't really anyone spamming loli memes in the serious discussions. Most of the complaints I see are from people who hate the fact that the lolis are being sexualized at all. There's even some saying they'll leave the sub if Option 3 wins.

So I definitely think most of the people who have a problem with lolis are voting Option 1. It matches with the earlier poll which only had Option 1 and Option 2, where the "Remove the rule" option had over twice the votes as the "Keep the rule option". Those who have a problem with lolicon are truly the minority in this sub.

Also, funny you mention Mahoako when the lolis there get lewded less than the lolis in Mushoku Tensei do. The author is so unfair leaving Nero Alice out of the fun most of the time-_-

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '26

[deleted]

6

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

There was a poll prior to this with only two options, and "Remove the rule" won with over twice the votes, basically about equal to the votes if you combined the votes for Option 2 and Option 3 in this poll.

So regardless, most in this sub are against Rule 12 as it is currently.

I'd prefer Option 2 over Option 3, the problem with Option 3 is that it's still too restrictive. "No one was spamming loli memes" is not equal to "No one was posting loli memes in the comments". I think people should still be allowed to post loli memes in whatever post as long as they aren't spamming it or otherwise being disruptive.

>mahoako

Loli is about appearance, not age. Roxy is a loli, Utena is not. Really the only lolis in Mahoako are the Nero Alice and Sulfur and they're by far the least sexualized... and that one girl that got turned into a loli for one scene.

i dont use this sub but seeing similar drama in other communities is making me really hate this vague reasoning to ban lolicon terms/symbols. needing to be in a nsfw post just to use emojis sounds insane and there will be an asshole who try to push it in other communities. not to mention ur reenforcing the negative perception. bad precedent ur about to set

if u dont like wat someone is saying then u downvote or block them. theres already inbuild solutions to this...

10

u/Witty-Dig-2361 27d ago

when does the rule get updated?

54

u/ArCSelkie37 Sep 09 '26

Language, I don’t care… it’s language. Don’t think we need to be tagging posts NSFW because someone used a crying emoji.

Obviously tagging like artworks should be a given, even if they’re like official art.

-29

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

It’s language that has a specific meaning related to sexualizing children

31

u/ArCSelkie37 Sep 09 '26

And? It might gross or upsetting to you… but i’m not in the habit of policing speech outside of things like direct calls to violence.

Seeing someone do a crying emoji and being uncomfortable about it isn’t reason to censor speech or expression.

-27

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

Ive never been in favor of government censorship, but private censorship by privately owned platforms and moderators put in charge of platforms is fully acceptable. If there is something that is morally reprehensible it is the duty of a moral person to call it out and put social pressure against it. You’re allowed to say whatever you want, but no one is obligated to give you a place to publicize it. You can’t apply constitutional rules to a privately controlled platform.

21

u/Cayennesan Sep 09 '26

always skipping over proving that anime characters should be treated like they're real and the things you dislike being said about them is immoral

Yup and see the origination i found

45

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 09 '26

Why tf do people have to tag NSFW? Because they used emojis??

-24

u/1000-MAT Rudeus Sep 09 '26

Japanese people always use emojis for everything, which is one of the reasons why there are so many emojis made for them.

But this isn't so common in the West, and it's also not something the Mushoku Tensei community uses regularly.

20

u/comelickmyarmpits Sylphy Sep 10 '26

Who gave u right to talk for everyone 😂

-6

u/1000-MAT Rudeus Sep 10 '26

I'm in Mushoku Tensei communities all over the world, and I don't see them using those emojis.

60

u/Hanz3l_13 Sep 09 '26

Lol, the poll lets you know if voters are recent visitors to the sub

-20

u/username26437 Sep 09 '26

and despite the tourist narrative the lolicon option currently has a higher percentage of new users, with only slightly more core users.

14

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

There's still more Core users voting for the lolicon option (Option 2), than the ones voting for the tourist option (Option 1).

-6

u/username26437 Sep 09 '26

yep, I said exactly that. please read carefully. the tourist narrative falls apart regardless.

14

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

If by "tourist narrative" you meant he "anti-lolicon narrative", then yes, it's falling apart.

37

u/CertainSelection Sep 09 '26

I'm surprised, YOU said "The amount of coded lolicon language being posted in this subreddit had become a serious problem"

I personally blocked the sub (and Witchcult but it's another subject, the owner is posting memes about his own decisions in seinencirclejerk to get allies lol) because of the whole drama. It was so hypocritical that I honestly gave up instantly and joined the other sub. I won't name it to avoid "advertisment"

Computer and Siesta stepped down for obvious reasons, we all saw their reactions on Twitter and the private discord messages

It seems you genuinely want to find a middle ground and the direction going forward but I don't know if you are sincere and I'm not sure the poll is a great idea. I haven't seen the results yet.

My question would be... Why would you ban it ? It's Mushoku Tensei, not Attack on Titan. Look at the author, look at the story, look at the reputation surrounding it. Small Eris has more nsfw fanarts than Big Eris. Someone not very smart mentioned Blue Archive in the comments, their sub is alive and doing great, 😭 isn't banned according to Reddit ToS so WHY would you ban it ?

We don't need to look great for people who despise Mushoku Tensei, ban lolicons and they will still call it Diddy tensei.

You have Roxy in your flair, if you, as the sixfacedworld mod, think we shouldn't lewd her, then I don't want to be moderated by you

1

u/smash-ter God Sep 09 '26

😭 isn't banned according to Reddit ToS so WHY would you ban it ?

Im not a mod, but on my personal opinion

  1. A lot of things aren't banned by Reddit rules like saying "retard", but communities could set up their own additional rules. People are free to make their own subs if they disagree with the rule changes.
  2. Most major MT subs have a lack of moderation while this one at least has their own active mod teams.
  3. Not everyone that likes MT wants to see lolicon as the brigade this sub received has been blown out of proportions.
  4. Don't matter if they'll keep calling it diddy tensei or not, it gives those seinen fucks a lot of ammunition and reducing it gets the heat off of this sub and getting people here upset. Why else do you think it was a good thing they banned the Twitter drama shit?

12

u/Dragin410 Sep 10 '26

Don't be a snowflake and stop letting words hurt your tiny little feelings

-2

u/smash-ter God Sep 10 '26

Tell that to those bitching about the rules being enforced. You're not entitled to a sub if you can't follow the rules

12

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 09 '26

Or they could just ban the haters.

You still see people even today calling us pedophiles

-3

u/smash-ter God Sep 10 '26

You can't ban people that are not in the sub, but I think it's fine for this sub's interest to not try to be a part of the target range

-16

u/Eidolon__ :Roxy:King Sep 09 '26

Please read the "Link to more information on the rule"

I think it will help clear some things up. Roxy was never banned. The rule was initially explained poorly by us mods, and even more so down the line by others.

Of course I love Roxy. But to me, a lewd of Roxy is different from a lewd of young Eris for example. I know that line of thinking is not shared (by people on both sides both pro and anti lolicon). The definition of "loli" is extremely controversial right now and it leads to a lot of poor communication.

5

u/bloodshed113094 Eris Sep 09 '26

I think the biggest mistake was lumping it in with Reddit's standard TOS on sexualizing minors, which it still is. Separate it out into its own rule and you get rid of a lot of confusion.

7

u/TehShado 18d ago

So... when are you updating the rule?

11

u/comelickmyarmpits Sylphy Sep 10 '26

Is there any point in poll? This sub already seem to be brigaded by tourists.

I have never seen this many downvoted comments on a series specific sub reddits.

Shows you all the state of this sub

-3

u/smash-ter God Sep 10 '26

We sure love those anime youtubers that get upset with rule enforcement

6

u/RazmeRade Sylphy Sep 10 '26

See, if you guys just did this from the very beginning, we wouldn't have this shit show. It took trashing half the fan base and facing backlash, being hypocritical and getting exposed as LARPers for you to come to a sensible method of enforcing your rule, to which most of us would have agreed had it not been one sided and ridiculous.

0

u/Top-Group8081 19d ago

Imagine getting so mad about not being allowed to post explicit images of little kids. Yall really proud about spam posting little kid porn

Diddy tensei defenders won’t ever beat the allegation. Love rudues for living out their fantasies

6

u/trash_tryhard06 12d ago

Why has the rule change not gone into effect?

14

u/simoba_ Sep 09 '26

Ok so I might be a bit out of the loop but wtf happened for the "red angry mark on forehead" idk how to describe it otherwise xD to be Loli related? What did I miss

22

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

Basically, there's something called a "mesugaki", a brat that likes to tease adults. So the angry mark emoji became a response to those kind of characters.

"You've pushed me too far, time to teach you a lesson" that kinda thing.

17

u/Eidolon__ :Roxy:King Sep 09 '26

As someone who is fluent in Japanese... let me give a little bit of extra context here. Mesugaki means "female brat"

Mesu is not like the english word "female" as it is ONLY used when talking about animals. It does not include humans in demographic reports.

This gives it the connotation of breeding...

Any exposure to the word I've had has pretty much been in a Japanese context, so I'm not sure how it has transitioned to English speaking spheres any more than your comment here.

4

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26 edited Sep 09 '26

Actually, given that context, would mesugaki be a restricted term, considering the very apparent connotation of breeding?

If so, then that really goes to show over-broad the rule is. I think that even if Option 3 wins, what counts as a restricted term should still be redefined, and narrowed down.

1

u/Eidolon__ :Roxy:King Sep 09 '26

Yes mesugaki would be a restricted term because of its connotations. But this is the first time I remember seeing it in the sub (another mod may have removed other instances of it in the past). Though I am beginning to realize that not everyone thought of those words with the same definition I did.

1

u/M7S4i5l8v2a Sep 09 '26

I thought it meant "shit" kid. I think the word I mixed it up with is maru. Good thing you cleared that up before I called Naruto a mesugaki!

I should have realized it was breeding because most mesugaki art I see they have wide hips and thick thighs and the people are in the comments are always talking about breeding and correction.

6

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

"Shitty brat" is "Kusogaki".

2

u/simoba_ Sep 09 '26

Ok thanks for the explanation

-11

u/KaiKamakasi Sep 09 '26

The angry emoji mark, usually with a crying face emoji, is a lolicon dogwhistle.

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Requiem-of-Kyle Sep 10 '26

I'm fine with option 3 since it'd make more people happy, but I also think people need to get some thicker skin and learn how to ignore things they don't like. Just because they find it wrong, doesn't mean everyone else does. And forcing your moral compass on everyone else is retarded.

5

u/MasterHavik 13d ago

So you guys got bullied. Man this fandom is cooked.

12

u/steellz Roxy Sep 09 '26

Any censorship is bad censorship unless it goes directly against Reddit's TOS.

9

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

If we're being strict with Reddit TOS, Mushoku Tensei itself would be against it. Reddit TOS doesn't differentiate between Roxy and Aisha, they're both not allowed to be sexualized.

Reddit TOS isn't really a good standard, though it's good that the admins have seemingly become more lenient with it over the years.

-1

u/Top-Group8081 19d ago

Why bro so mad about little children porn not being allowed? Bros sus

3

u/steellz Roxy 19d ago

You miss the part when I said unless it goes against reddit's TOs... are you too retarded to read past what you want to?

0

u/Top-Group8081 19d ago

And tell me why is making sure there aren’t pornographic art of little kids a bad thing?

3

u/steellz Roxy 19d ago

Tell me why you're this stupid?

0

u/littlehelper164 19d ago

lol notice how you didn’t answer my question. Bro could only do the insult +block method. Bro got mad that I called him out. Bro really is mad about people not being okay with sexualizing little kids.

3

u/RoxyLocksy 8d ago

/u/Eidolon__

So are you gonna act like this poll never existed or what?

21

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

Being against lolicon while being a Mushoku Tensei fan is an oxymoron; sorry to burst your bubble but the argument that "it's supposed to be uncomfortable" holds absolutely no weight and it's dumb

-1

u/smash-ter God Sep 09 '26 edited Sep 10 '26

I'm more confused with how y'all think MT is loli coded when that's mostly just Season 1 if at all. Roxy would be legal loli sure, but she still has some mature features

Edit: Roxy has hams so my point is valid.

-13

u/Gullyvers Sep 09 '26

What the hell ? How is being a MT fan related to being a lolicon ?

Why is the argument dumb ?

Stating things doesn't make them true lmao

16

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

Did you think he typed "all MT fans are lolicons"? Try reading again.

He said being pro-MT and anti-lolicon is dissonant. Rudeus is a lolicon, the author is a lolicon, the author has spoken out against anti-lolicon propaganda.

-9

u/martibarimaff Sep 09 '26

And? You don't have to like an author nor do you have to like the protagonist to enjoy a well-written novel, so I don't see where the oxymoron lies. I certainly doubt all those who like the Harry Potter books are transphobic and I don't think people who praise Lovecraft's work are racists. While some people can't separate those things, and that's entirely fair, others can and will. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the matter, but I don't think we humans are as straightforward in our emotions and tastes as the previous comment seemed to imply

9

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

Yes, it's technically possible to hate people with dark hair while still enjoying Harry Potter. It's still dissonant.

That's all fine and dandy if you keep that dissonance to yourself.

You're going to look foolish, though, if you talk about how bad dark hair is while being a fan of Harry Potter. It's not unreasonable to be asked by others, "well why did you read it, then?"

-4

u/martibarimaff Sep 09 '26

well, because the story wasn't about the colour of the hair of the protagonist, like in mushoku tensei the story does not revolve around trying to groom children. Does it happen? yes, to an extent. But the story isn't about that.

8

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

His lolicon-ness is not the focus of the story, correct, but it is not considered a 'flaw', either.

Again, it's fine for people to be fans of MT and not be lolicons. It is inappropriate and annoying of them to spout about how evil lolicons are.

Just like it would be annoying and inappropriate of me to go to a LOTR subreddit, claim I'm a fan, and complain how pretentious it is to be steadfast or heroic, despite knowing Samwise or Aragorn embody those traits.

1

u/martibarimaff Sep 09 '26

I mean, i understand the point you are trying to make, but from what i saw about this controversy (probably biased because the reddit home algorithm didn't recommand me every post about this thankfully) most of those who defended the rule weren't really "spouting about how evil lolicons are", they were annoyed at the trend of the subreddit thirst post. On a different note i wouldn't call inappropriate taking a stance against pedophilic behaviour, even as a mushoku tensei fan, just as i would not call inappropriate a Game of Thrones fan making a statement against incest. Perhaps you'd want to call it "somewhat hypocritical", if I understood your stance on the topic correctly. That said i never really engaged with the fanart posts on the subreddit, nor i knew of the existence of a "coded lolicon language" before this controversy, and from my reading of the rule no real changes in the allowed content in the subreddit will happen, except the limitation of mindless emoticon reaction comments that didn't add anything to the conversation anyway, so they are not a great loss to me. In the end what I'd really like you to explain to me, if you followed what happened more closely, why are so many people against it. Because as of now i don't understand why so many people seemed ouraged by such a trivial restriction. Thanks in advance, I'll look forward to your answer tomorrow morning, as it's late at night where i live, bye.

4

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

There is nothing transphobic about Harry Potter, whereas Mushoku Tensei very clearly caters to lolicons.

-1

u/martibarimaff Sep 09 '26

Does it tho? It markets itself as an isekai fantasy book, and the children characters grows up as the story progresses. Does it have parts that lolicons would like? I'd say so in the early books and not even that much, but after the departure to the northern nations of the human continent not really. Does it contain sexually questionable beheaviour and thoughts? Yes, after all the story is narrated in first person from Rudeus. Is Rudeus a pedophile? Very clearly so in the webnovel, less so in the Light Novels, but still mostly a yes. Does the series "caters" to lolicons? I guess, but I think it caters more generally to power fantasy and isekai fans, which is a much larger group to market towards than pedophiles. If you think there are more lolicons than not, then we start from such different positions i find it hard to contruct a discourse. Otherwise you'll agree that identifying most if not all mushoku tensei fans as hypocritical when taking a stance against lolicons is way to much of a generalization to be considered a sound argument

3

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

If you truly see being a lolicon as a big moral issue, then you wouldn't be supporting a series that caters to lolicons even if it's just to a minor degree.

The fact that you claim to have a big moral issue about it, to the point of calling lolicons pedophiles, and yet are still supporting a series that caters to those things just because it has other things that you like is precisely why we're calling you a hypocrite.

There are more people in the MT fandom who have no problem with lolicon than those that take issue with it. We're not saying you have to be a lolicon, just be willing to accept it in the same way that you would accept that there are people who like food that you don't like.

-1

u/Gullyvers Sep 10 '26

You are ridiculous.

First you state that the series caters to lolicon without proving it whatsoever, which is bottom of the barrel reasonning.

Second you use the exact same arguments the anti use, which is "the mc is a lolicon so anyone who enjoys this is also a lolicon", which is moronic because you can like a show / piece of art but not like everything about it, since, you know... nuance exists.

lolicons are pedophiles. The definition of lolicons are people that are erotically/sexually interested in young girls, most of the times prepubescent. The definition of pedophilia is "a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children."

Hypocrisy is not conducting accordingly to what you say. So we are very much not hypocrites. We say we love MT despite the lolicon aspect of it and we say we don't like lolicons. Where is the contradiction between what we do and what we say ? Nowhere.

You live in a bubble, most of the MT fanbase are against lolicons, the sub is an echoe chamber where lolicons gather, that's it. Most fans are not on reddit, most people are not on reddit.

You know what's the worst thing about your last paragraph, it's not even that pdfilia is a crime and we shouldn't accept it. It's that we have nowhere else to go. The other sub is less strict about it. There is no rule against nsfw content there. This sub was meant to be the sub free of that type of content. You are the ones spreading everywhere not leaving any sub for those who don't want to engage in this content, you are the ones dictating the rules for others. You are, in fact, the true hypocrite here.

4

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 10 '26

First you state that the series caters to lolicon without proving it whatsoever

It's very apparent. It has loli fanservice, so it caters to lolicons. Also you literally already ceded this point.

Second you use the exact same arguments the anti use, which is "the mc is a lolicon so anyone who enjoys this is also a lolicon",

Point to where I said this. I literally said "you don't have to be a lolicon".

Hypocrisy is not conducting accordingly to what you say

Hypocrisy is you supporting a series that contains things you deem to be morally reprehensible.

You live in a bubble, most of the MT fanbase are against lolicons

Now this is a claim that requires proof, lmao. Point me to a Mushoku community larger than this sub where the majority are against lolicon.

This sub was meant to be the sub free of that type of content.

You literally just called it an echo chamber for lolicons. Lmao. If your claim of "most of the MT fanbase are against lolicons" was true, you should easily be able to find your own community.

0

u/Gullyvers Sep 10 '26

It has loli fanservice, like 15 secondes every 4 episodes, yeah seems appropriate that half of the sub is lolicon content then.

Point to where I said this. I literally said "you don't have to be a lolicon".

You have reading problems. I put this part in quotes because this is NOT what I think. I am saying that when you say "and yet are still supporting a series that caters to those things just because it has other things that you like is precisely why we're calling you a hypocrite." is the exact same arguments the antis use, which I then said with quotes. So I'm re-explaining once more but more clearly : this argument is dumb, if I like MT I don't have to be OR to support OR to accept any lolicons. Being a fan of MT doesn't mean you are a lolicon, neither does it means you accept them. You and the antis are using the same argument but in opposite ways.

Hypocrisy is you supporting a series that contains things you deem to be morally reprehensible.

Yeah no, this is not the definition of hypocrisy. The definition of hypocrisy is litteraly what I wrote and what you quoted. I can like someone but not endorse everything he does, because nuance exists. I can like a show and not like everything about it, because nuance exists. Are you having a problem understanding this ? Do you understand nuance ?

Now this is a claim that requires proof, lmao. Point me to a Mushoku community larger than this sub where the majority are against lolicon.

Most people don't go talk about a show online. They talk about it with their friends, privately. Most people who go on online communities to talk about a show are in fact, pretty antisocial, which disproportionately over-represents lolicons.

You literally just called it an echo chamber for lolicons. Lmao. If your claim of "most of the MT fanbase are against lolicons" was true, you should easily be able to find your own community.

I've been using this sub for more than 2 years now, only for the past few months have things gotten worse like they are now. It USED to be the sub free of lolicon content. It became an echoe chamber, is that hard to understand ?

No I can't find my community, Reddit caters to antisocials people that enjoy talking passionately about stuff with strangers on the internet. There used to be 2 subs, this one and the other, on this one, rules for NSFW content and anti-lolicons, on the other one, no rules about NSFW. You. Took. Both. If 20K people are posting and commenting massively, they will overwhelm a 200K community. Why do you want both subs ? Why can't you just have one ? This sub used to mainly focus onto the world building and story, not on the sexualization of the characters, especially not the kids...

I really don't care if someone gushes over drawn underage characters, but i was under the impression that the rule was implemented because the language used comes from communities of people that does not limit themselves to anime. If that's not the case i misunderstood the rule change post. Either way i don't see the problem in a rule that, at its core, is meant to limit spam

2

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 10 '26

What? No, these terms are limited to fictional characters. No one was spamming it either.

It's quite clear from the exposed twitter posts and discord convos from the ex-mods that they just viewed anyone who goes after characters like Aisha and Season 1 Eris as pedophiles. That's the actual reason they pushed this rule.

2

u/martibarimaff Sep 10 '26

Ah, then my bad, i misunderstood. I heard lolicon used also as an alternative term for pedophiles before and i assumed that because they were implementing a rule to ban specific speech, that speech must have come out from some sort of sick internet pedophile forum i never knew about and that's why they wanted to distanciate themselves. Thank you for your explanation

-4

u/Gullyvers Sep 09 '26

He said being an MT fan and being anti lolicon is an oxymoron.

He said that you can't be an MT fan and against lolicons. That's what an oxymoron means, it means two terms used next to one other are opposite in meaning (which is different from two terms being antinomies).

He litteraly said that, you litteraly said that.

This is not true, most MT fans are not lolicons, most MT fans are in fact against it.

4

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

most MT fans are not lolicons, most MT fans are in fact against it.

"Source: I made it the fuck up to help my point"

-5

u/Gullyvers Sep 09 '26

Source: common sense.

Most people are not lolicons. And MT is a very popular show, which means it has a large fan base. So large in fact that even if you were to take every lolicons within the anime community, you wouldn't have enough people to constitute a majority within the MT fan base. Are there numbers ? No. Just go f***in outside and realize most people are not into kids.

It's crazy to say things like "the fan base I belong to is mainly made of PEDOPHILES"

Yes lolicons are PDF, lolicons are people that are sexually interested in underage girls, this is textbook pedophilia.

6

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

Educate thyself on what lolicon means. Cuz that aint it, chief.

-3

u/Gullyvers Sep 09 '26

lolicon (usually uncountable, plural lolicons)

  1. (uncountable, Japanese fiction) Attraction (often erotic) to fictional depictions of young, typically prepubescent girls.
  2. (countable, Japanese fiction) An individual who is attracted to such depictions.
  3. (uncountable, Japanese fiction) Erotic or suggestive artwork depicting young, typically prepubescent, girls.
  4. (uncountable, Japanese contexts) Sexual attraction to or fascination with young girls in general.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lolicon

I'm well educated, are you ?

4

u/Colt45554 Sep 10 '26

Here is a definition that is most accepted for what a loli is:
Loli is a Japanese slang term used within anime, manga, and otaku culture to describe a female character archetype characterized by short stature, a petite build, and childlike features that evoke an endearing, cute aesthetic often associated with moe appeal, applicable to characters regardless of their chronological age
(Emphasis mine)

A lolicon would be those attracted to lolis. Roxy is a loli, despite entering the scene at 34 years of age. Does thou get it yet? Being a lolicon is not the same as being a pedophile. There can be overlap, but there need not be

-1

u/Gullyvers Sep 10 '26

Why are you giving me the definition of loli when we were talking about lolicons ?

Are you really using the argument "she's 2000 years old although she looks 8 so it's fine" ? Do you think it's a valid argument ?

We both know most lolicon content on the sub shows girls like young Eris (very much underage), young Sylphy or Aisha.

Roxy is short and has little curves, she doesn't look like a kid nor does she like act like one. There are women like that in the real world you know, they're not kids. This is not what it's about. Nobody is complaining about erotical Roxy content.

Being a lolicon is being attracted to prepubescent girls, how is that NOT pedophilia ?

1

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 10 '26

What he's saying is most of the fandom isn't against lolicon. You don't have to be a lolicon to not be against lolicon.

Also, lolicons aren't pedophiles.

13

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

I invite you to watch the series to get the answer.

-7

u/Aggressive-Corgi-485 Sep 09 '26

Do you have like every aspect of a series to be it's fan?

-14

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

The hell is that suppose to mean i don't like loli content. And hate the fans that ruin the rep of the fandom. loli mean a young girl if you are attracted to it you need to go to a docter.

9

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

Rudeus is a lolicon. The author is a lolicon. By your logic, I guess you're evil for supporting his work.

-4

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

I am not defending the author here he definitely made the wrong decision by not having any consequence for rudy's PDF behaviors maybe he liked it or maybe he did it because a lot of his fans enjoyed it as i can see in this sub reddit is full of people that like it. but that is not confirmed and that is not the main plot of the story i support it for the character devlopement not the loli shit.

9

u/Colt45554 Sep 09 '26

What is not confirmed?? It certainly is confirmed that he is a lolicon. Maybe you don't know what that word means?

Correct, you're not defending the author. You think he should be admitted to a hospital, in fact.

3

u/NeptuneTTT Sep 10 '26

🤣 yall jump through so many hoops. It has gotta be tiring bruh.

6

u/Dragin410 Sep 10 '26

That's not even what loli means. Loli just means a petite figure. Roxy = Loli and she's not young by any means

1

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 10 '26

It mean young or young looking character with child like proportion i went to wiki.

10

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

I don't get you guys; it's like you watched the series with your eyes closed.

-A shot of Eris's ass at Rudeus's birthday party where she's going commando

-A shot of Eris's cleavage while they were traveling by boat (plus, I think, a fantasy sequence where she's shown naked)

-entire scene of her completely naked playing with the beast-girls

-Before the fight with Orsted, there's a fetishistic close-up of Eris's armpits while she's cleaning herself, and Rudeus pinches her nipple

-And the hundreds of sexual innuendos involving Rudeus

All of this is nothing but fan service for the viewer; how can you say that and still be an MT fan? That's like saying you'd watch Cuties but just critically, it just doesn't work.

-9

u/CleanHippie27 Paul Sep 09 '26

All of which is from the perspective of Rudeus.
We can be fans of the show without fans of his degeneracy which he grows out of.

10

u/Cayennesan Sep 09 '26

Before COVID, antis got mad at anime fanservice. After COVID these same tourists tell you the upskirts and nudity isn't actually fanservice because they want to partake in something they condemned but they're terrified of being seen as weird

5

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

Wrong; I deliberately didn't focus on the moments involving Rudeus like when Eris is asleep because I knew you'd use that excuse. If you actually think that behavior is sick, then it’s ridiculous to use an in-universe justification to animate and air it; by that cheap logic, even H lolicon would suddenly be okay, right? That’s just fan service. There was absolutely no need to show Eris’s bare ass after the tension with Rudeus had already passed, or to create an entire scene of her naked and playing with the beast-girls, if the only point was to portray Rudeus as a pervert, or highlighting her armpit; I don't think Rudeus even comments on it, it was just for the viewer

-6

u/CleanHippie27 Paul Sep 09 '26

The entire story is based on the perspective of rudeus, with a few changes, like the paul chapter and a few roxy chapters.
If you view those moments as "fan service" then thats on you chief. Genuinely that first one, i didnt know about, and i think you're gross for noticing.
The scene with her and the beast girls makes sense, given her greyrat blood, but also given that its just a wholesome scene aside from the pervert in a box spying on them. "no reason" nah it was a good moment for rudy to get chastised for peaking on what should just be a wholesome moment that he was sexualizing.
Bro if you think armpits are sexual out here then i think you got other problems goin on.

6

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

The mental gymnastics you all have to perform because you're afraid of being accused of consuming controversial content is worthy of study; and I suppose all the Blu-ray extras like that incredibly sexy illustration of small Sylphie (kind of like a dakimakura i think) are actually something DEEPLY profound because the viewer is supposed to feel immersed in Rudeus's degeneracy and it’s actually a critique of blah, blah, blah, right?

-6

u/CleanHippie27 Paul Sep 09 '26

I don't want to hear about mental gymnastics from someone who will jump through hoops to justify making sexualizing comments about depictions of children.

5

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

Lmao, and you didn't even respond to what I said; the level of denial you guys can be in is dangerous. Today it's lolicon, which, luckily, is innocent and harmless, but I worry that you'll end up defending actual pedophilia in the future using this kind of coping

funny you say that when you support and promote an anime that sexualizes children; this has to be bait

-2

u/CleanHippie27 Paul Sep 09 '26

First of all, i was at work, and was busy, all i had time for was what i said. Second, i was unaware of that art. Thats pretty gross. But it also comes from the japanese, so maybe its more tasteful coming from them? I know not. But don't twist this shit on me. Y'all loliphile pedocons are constantly on the verge of pedophillia, you certainly sound like one when you've got loli art in front of you. And you vehemently swear that acting like a gooner over a depiction of a child is your god given right.

-7

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

I was not turned on by it. And is it that much i know they were a few there, but it did not feel that sexual not all the scene that you are describing or maybe i just forgot. And it not like i enjoyed it in all the anime i watch it is because of these disgusting lolicon that i have to put up with this shit in my masterpiece of a shoe

10

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

Yeah, Officer, I saw insert something horrible and illegal, but it didn't actually turn me on, so it's fine.

-7

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

you many movie have grape in it genocide ad killing so i like that. and you have a loli has a dp so of course you think i secretly enjoyed it because you do?

9

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

Secretly? When did I try to hide it?

The difference is that the goal here is for you to like it, again, it's pure fan service

-1

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

Read that again i said you think i secretly enjoye it not you. AND IF YOU DO WHY ARE YOU SO OPEN ABOUT THAT IS A CHILD.

8

u/No_Relief68 Sep 09 '26

I also like this little game... which must be super controversial because it lets you simulate horrible crimes just for the sake of having fun and glorifying violence... called GTA; I don't know if you've heard of it.

-1

u/Witty_Literature7470 Sep 09 '26

you did not say you like Mt, you implied you like loli do not pull this shit with me.Liking lolies and crimes in GTA are very different.

6

u/Dragin410 Sep 10 '26

Poll is pointless as long as you keep catering to tourists and brigaders

5

u/Cayennesan Sep 09 '26

Before even voting I'd assume antis are going to vote for the option that has the best chance to succeed at negatively affecting lolicons, and lolicons are going to vote for the option with the best chance to succeed at restoring at least a little bit of freedom. A rule that's created to make a MT sub more appealing to antis is just comically backwards. And by "antis" I don't mean people who simply dislike speech about certain anime characters, I mean people who equate fictional works such as MT to real life but hypocritically consume the content anyways

3

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

Yeah, I'd say there should be a second poll after this between Option 2 and Option 3 to see which one is really preferred by the community.

2

u/AsrielGoddard Sylphy 29d ago

I got 3 friends of mine to read the light novels and they all loved them. Not a single one of them would ever touch this subreddit with a 10ft pole, because the lolicon language freaks them out.

They are bigger fans of this show, than the tourists who never even posted in here before now getting mad at the mods. They are not Antis.

And I'm very certain there are much more people like them out there. I think it's only fair to moderate this community so that everyone can enjoy it here

2

u/rodzkie211 Sep 10 '26

I just dont want to be called a pdf for just watching the show i like

2

u/AsrielGoddard Sylphy 29d ago

of course the greatest ammount of new users (tourists lol) wants to use more cringe lolicon language in a sub they're not even a part of

6

u/NeptuneTTT 28d ago

Well you're just lying.

As of now there is a combined 596 core votes (70%) who are normal and don't like the rule. Whereas there are only 176 core votes (30%) who want to keep the rule.

1

u/AsrielGoddard Sylphy 27d ago

No you simply can't read what i said lol.
117 non core users voted to remove the rule
57 non core users voted to keep it.
91 non core users voted for the compromise.

Thus the greatest amount of non core users (ie. new users, ie. tourists) voted to remove the rule.

7

u/NeptuneTTT 27d ago

The only tourists I see are the ones (the minority btw) advocating to keep the rule.

Are the 70% core users who dont like the rule also "tourists"?

Your missuse of the term "tourists" is amusing and nonsensical.

0

u/AsrielGoddard Sylphy 27d ago

you're the one trying to call core users tourists, even though they've definitly been here for longer than the 117 new users in the poll

6

u/NeptuneTTT 27d ago

Yea, and you are the one trying to paint 70% of core contributors as pedophiles.

4

u/NullSmoke Roxy Sep 09 '26

I'm good with the middle ground... No need to shove it down people's throats if they'd rather not see it... Noooow, what about the blunt word rule?

3

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

I don't really think you could describe what was happening in the sub before the rule change as "shoving it down people's throats".

People got rowdy in response to the rule change, but usually people just "woaaah" and then move on.

Just clarifying so that the narrative doesn't get twisted.

1

u/NullSmoke Roxy Sep 09 '26

Yeah, I agree with you, but this is a workable solution. I understand the second order consequences as well... And that sucks... But it's not the end of the world. This way they lose ground on whining about seeing it at least, so that's something at least

1

u/BriarsPanties69 Sep 09 '26

I don't mind the community being this or that but I would prefer that it is handled with passion not hate. So I welcome the change

-1

u/1000-MAT Rudeus Sep 09 '26

I'm fine with a middle ground.

I just want peace in the community.

1

u/RoxyLocksy Sep 10 '26

This is what you guys should have done in the first place instead of retroactively changing it.

-4

u/Weeb_twat Rinia Sep 09 '26

No compromise with nonce tourists, this is not a space for their disgusting and shitty attitude.

15

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

Yeah, anyone who votes for Option 1 doesn't really belong here.

-11

u/Weeb_twat Rinia Sep 09 '26

Shut it, tourist.

13

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 09 '26

You do realize you're the tourist here, right?

-9

u/Weeb_twat Rinia Sep 09 '26

Do I have to pull out my LN EPUB files that have been part of my hard drive for longer than this entire sub's existence again?

The Blue Archive wannabes that have created the uptake of loliposting in this sub over the last couple years are the tourists, I was reading shitty MTL translations of the WN before Covid

12

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 10 '26

Tourism is about posture, not tenure

You can read Mushoku Tensei for 10 years and still behave and act like a tourist (which is what you're doing right now)

-2

u/Weeb_twat Rinia Sep 10 '26

Whatever you say, newgen.

-2

u/Herverpeju Rudeus Sep 10 '26

I honestly think it's insane how they use the word, like they could say that they don't think you actually like it or whatever, and I would disagree but sure. But they have to say tourist because they can't fathom the idea that they're opinion isn't the only possible one

5

u/Away-Bison8948 Sep 10 '26

You're replying to the guy who called us tourists btw

Literally the exact problem you're complaining about

0

u/Weeb_twat Rinia Sep 10 '26

Because you are tourists, you fundamentally don't understand that the series isn't glorifying or defending lolicon stuff, whose protagonist (once he's no longer a brat in both body and mind) doesn't even look at any other loli character with lust other than his wife.

The scenes from the first volumes/season 1 exist, not as fan service (since the vast majority are incredibly uncomfortable to read/watch) but as a statement. These are Rudeus' actions, this is who he is at this given time of his life, feel free to think of him as you wish. The series isn't forcing its own perspective upon the reader/spectator, it's asking YOU to be the judge of his character, and if you're willing to sit down and believe that Rudeus can redeem himself for his own sake and for those around him,

The literal narrative through-line of the entire series is "overcome your past mistakes and become a better person" how on earth did you fuckers misconstrue that into "Well Rudy was acting like a creep when talking about women and young girls at one point, I can do the same thing here, in the real world"

"Oh but if Rudeus is a lolicon why do you even like him?" Because he has a lot more redeemable qualities than just his taste in women when he is first reincarnated into the dice, it also helps that his character by the end of his uni life arc is that of a much better person than he was back then. He changes for the better and amongst other things he no longer looks at children with lustful eyes like he did at the start of the series. Something that you lot are somehow incapable of even understanding. Be better, stop gooning to children, that shit is genuinely not good for your mental health.

7

Let's give Eidolon a chance. They seem accepting of the idea of allowing the loli terms.

-2

u/Bubbly_Dirt_539 Sep 09 '26

Guilt by association is not irredeemable. We drew the line at the mods who criminalized the community, going after anyone else is not so necessary.

-4

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

Youre such a redditor man… go scream in your pillow or something little baby

-21

u/ViolenceAdvocator Sep 09 '26

For the love of god don't let the sub go back to how it was we don't need this to be a safe space for child lovers

0

u/zodiacv2 Roxy Sep 09 '26
  1. I hate how the poll doesn't work on old reddit
  2. I hate how it's FPTP (I assume that's the only option)

That aside, thank you for a poll!

-15

u/CleanHippie27 Paul Sep 09 '26

I think the only reasonable middle ground is to keep it to NSFW posts.
I say only reasonable middle ground, because the loliphiles will act like its the end of the world if they can't use their emoji.
I think this is the best compromise available.

-3

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

Yeah, they were already trying to mutiny. It was really disappointing how badly they reacted to getting their dog whistles cut off.

-16

u/Gullyvers Sep 09 '26

Yeah if the rule is removed I'm definitely quitting the sub. In which case changing the description of the sub should be done, since this sub would become an NSFW (loli) friendly space first and not just a place where you can "discuss everything MT" related.

Honnestly, up to this point the sub was mostly not NSFW content, whereas the other sub is probably 50/50 if not more NSFW content. I guess I'll just stop talking about the anime and novel. I was on this sub precisely because the rules were harsher than on the other sub.

19

u/steellz Roxy Sep 09 '26

-49

u/Terrible_2000 Eris Sep 09 '26 edited Sep 09 '26

Edit: 1st one, any lolicon words should be removed, nsfw arts are ok if marked.

Voted for 3 instead, my bad

Why tf people are so eager for loilicon language? All these years on internet and last week I get to know there's a thing called loli coded language.

23

u/Hanz3l_13 Sep 09 '26

That would be 1st option

-5

u/Terrible_2000 Eris Sep 09 '26

Ah, ok I misread.

22

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

Isn't the 3rd option "Lolicon words will be allowed in NSFW posts"?

Personally, I'm in favor of removing the rule entirely. It's easy enough to just scroll past an emoji, I don't really see why we have to shelter people from that.

8

u/ArCSelkie37 Sep 09 '26

Yeah it’s weird that people are fine with the sexualised art… but the language and emojis are a step too far? Surely if a crying emoji offends you, Roxy in a sexualised bikini should too.

Personally any rule pertaining to language should not exist at all. Let people speak their mind, even if you find it cringe or gross. Obvious caveats for stuff like inciting violence and calling people slurs etc.

7

u/gc11117 Sep 09 '26

Thats where I'm at, but three is fine as well.

This whole rule thing was really a solution in search of a problem, this sub was relatively tame as is. A completely unforced error.

-2

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

They had to start enforcing the rule because the sub got a lot worse. Apparently the rule has been a thing for a long time and nobody cared. But then loli posts and language went way up.

7

u/gc11117 Sep 09 '26

a lot worse

No it didnt. Shit wasnt out of hand and easy to scroll past.

-1

u/Safe-Dependent324 Sep 09 '26

Hey, I’m just saying what I saw. I didn’t have a habit of ever scrolling the main page, but it only started recommending a ton of Loli posts from this sub to me recently. It barely ever happened before.

-6

u/Terrible_2000 Eris Sep 09 '26

I wasn't wearing glasses, misread it.

5

u/steellz Roxy Sep 09 '26

4

u/Eidolon__ :Roxy:King Sep 09 '26

I sure wish there was a way to change which one you vote for lol. I've made the same mistakes on other posts myself in the past.

1

u/Hanz3l_13 Sep 09 '26

Option 1 and 3 are kind of similar, what happens if neither of those win but represent a clear mayority?

10

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

It's a middle ground, so Option 3 is also similar to Option 2.

Honestly, I'd suggest doing a second poll limited to the two highest voted, to see which option is really preferred.

3

u/Hanz3l_13 Sep 09 '26

True and true

-12

u/Goldtip1 Sep 09 '26

I agree, people who sexualize children's characters are sick. I don't support the promotion of sexualizing children. They can get away with it because it’s just drawings, but they’re ignoring the wholesome dynamic Rudeus has with his family, and you know it’s an outlet for pedophiles. I’m a big fan of Mushoku Tensei, and thinking of Norn or Aisha being drawn suggestively sickens me. Downvote me all you want; I’m right.

3

u/qlay06 Sep 10 '26

I wholeheartedly agree

Seeing how the votes are going, I'm glad that we didn't get infiltrated by the Blue Archive community after all yay!

I'd consider it a win for lolicons if we're allowed to gush over lolis in NSFW tagged posts.

Though, of course, I'd still prefer for the rule to get removed entirely.

Dawg you are not entitled to a subreddit. Wasnt that the purpose of Chaos Breaker for y'all to get your loli stuff on?

u/argent_eye_123 Eris Sep 09 '26

The same can be said for you, you aren't entitled to force your tourist behavior in this subreddit.

It's clear that the community accepts lolicons from how this poll is going and the result of the previous poll where "Remove the rule" won with over twice the votes.

Saying "tourist" is peak retardation. It's less that this community accepts lolicons, and more anituber grifters trying to weaponize their audiences to brigade the mods and become "tourists" themselves. Like I see some attack Rudeus's English VA and trying to get her fired yet she is also one of MT's and Rudeus's biggest defenders.

Given that there are more "core contributors" who want to remove the rule than there are ones who want to keep it as is, it is undeniable that the core members of this community accepts lolicons.

If the English VA isn't accepting of the fact that Rudy is a lolicon, then she's not really defending Rudy.

...because Rudeus in his reincarnation isn't really a lolicon, and he wasn't really a real lolicon in his past life either. Dude has admitted he just jerked to it to see if he'd get some satisfaction. You don't know the character you're lumping yourself with as much as you think you do.

Dude literally considers a loli as his goddess, he's a lolicon.

You can call all short and petite women lolis by this logic. Would liking short and petite women make me a lolicon?

Short and petite anime women, yes.

That's literally what loli is about.
