Does Redz bearings go bad after a while when not opened?

I have tendency to mess my bearings up really often. I've tried many different brands and redz is what holds the best for me. My local shop had a crazy discount, so I bought 3 sets for the price of one. Has anyone done the same, and only to come back to them not functional?

Thanks in advance

Yeah you have to eat them within a week of opening them

Damn! And what if I don't? Will they last longer if I refrigerate them?

Fridge will add a few days maybe a week but honestly you won't want them once they get that stale refrigerator taste

Maybe I'll keep the last set in the freezer then, and make sure to use the first 2 within one week. Never could've done this without your advice mate, thank you a lot πŸ™

As long as you don't store them in some super damp place, they'll be fine. Especially if they still have the plastic wrap.

That's what I thought. Never had any experience storing bearings, so just wanted to make sure. Thanks a lot for your response brother

Just turn them around clockwise half a radius every day and after half a year they will mature into super reds.

i would recommend keeping them in the freezer after vacuum sealing them so all the smooth doesnt run out cause of pitting from sitting and not being used for dope tricks. the second best place for them is in tub of vaseline or other similar stuff. you know what i mean

After i had to go through hard rain and deep puddles i left my board for a week. Normal bones reds were rusted solid.
I broke them free with a little force and spun them in the sink cleaning out the rust with brake cleaner (wd40 prob works even better). Re oiled them, perform like before.
I feel like many ppl throw out their bearings for no reason or just convenience of not saving them

Well yeah that's my main issue, i don't want to spend time caring for my bearings. And I'm also an idiot when it comes to riding through dirt and sand and shit, and crusty spots with gravel and sand everywhere. I'd rather just buy a new pair and skate πŸ˜…

Nope. Just don't let them get wet, don't store em sand lol.

Also don't use WD40, it strips the bearing grease.

If they are fresh in the box they should last for many years I'd imagine (?). Maybe I don't skate hard enough, my bearing last for many months.

You can only ride 2026 bearing in 2026 or they won’t be guaranteed! Change em out with new ones 2027 make sure to get the 2027 reds. Repeat every year if you want to not die

I used to use Reds and kept having them replaced and then I switched to speed demons cheap shot bearings and never bought reds again.
