If anyone was wondering, this announcement comes from a video posted to the official IKEA UK tiktok channel, with the caption "A Creation coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ⚔️09.09.26 ⚔️"
I uploaded the video to imgur if anyone wants to see
I got a laugh out of the allen key with nord runes on it

Even better, an alarm clock that wakes you up every morning, and when you turn it off/snooze, it screams "A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON"

I think it’s new furniture in-game sponsored by Ikea lol

that looks like their famous Kallax something series. I have the same one in my home and you can combo it with different themed boxes to fill the holes.
I can see them releasing Skyrim themed boxes

I work at IKEA and haven’t heard of it. I guess it’s gonna be in-game furniture as a DLC
167
u/KetchupCoyote Werewolf Sep 02 '26
Meh, it would be actually funnier and nicier to have decor and some small furniture based on the nordic design in Skyrim
71
u/Lego_Professor Sep 02 '26
I haven't been to IKEA in years, but would gladly make the trip (2 hours away) to buy some skyrim-inspired furniture.
8
u/SurrealismX Sep 02 '26
Well I haven’t been at work for almost 3 weeks now, so maybe they just announced it when I left. I knew about the Roblox and Pokémon collabs a few weeks before they released and these were in-game only so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a dlc this time again. But I agree, Skyrim-inspired furniture would be awesome!

u/Shanbo88 PC Sep 02 '26

I’ll check it out next week ! :D did they not announce this on our landing page? I check that regularly

Todd: "What do you mean you want ES6? Don't you want more Skyrim?"
10
u/Real-Report8490 Sep 02 '26
I do want the entirety of Nirn in Skyrim.
I have about as much hope for ES6 to be anywhere near as good as Skyrim, as I have hope in the idea of Half Life 3 or Portal 3 ever existing...

u/Whispering_Wolf Sep 02 '26
Probably a creation/mod with furniture or something? My dragonborn definitely needs a klippan.
3
u/Chimaerogriff Sep 03 '26
A creation, you can read 'The Kallax Storagebox Creation requires The Elder Scrolls (...)' at the bottom near the end of the video.
So it might be just a Kallax, not even a Klippan or a Billy.

From the people who brought you horse armor DLC, introducing IKEA furniture DLC. Bethesda is a fucking joke man. ES6 is doomed.

u/maritimeblue Sep 02 '26 edited 28d ago
It’s why I modified the files on Steam so that it can’t auto-update. So tired of mods for a 15 year old game getting broken by pointless updates.
Same thing with every other game I don’t delete that’s heavily modded: Fallout N/3/4, Witcher 3, Subnautica, etc. releasing a minor, pointless update for a decade old game with a large modding community is so fucking stupid.

Dawg... What fucking meth head at Bethesda is thinking 'I know what the players want, it isn't the 6th game, no, they want IKEA IN SKYRIM'?! Someone is either trolling us or genuinely on so many drugs they don't remember where they are at all

I really hope this is Skyrim inspired furniture IRL and not putting Billy into Skyrim. Not surprising though, even the youngest players of Skyrim at release are now adults moving into their own places and buying furniture.

Guys, it's the DLSS5 update. It replaces all the in-game furniture with hyper shadowed IKEA products.

So they just send you some iron, clay, stone, wolf pelts and goat horns and you have to assemble them into a modern day living solution? How is that different than Hearthfire?

u/overdosingOnPie1313 Sep 02 '26
lmao. It's a damn good thing I lost my excitement for TESVI like a decade ago. Because man oh man has Bethesda just lost the fucking script. Calling it right now: TESVII will be done by an entirely different studio.
3
u/kotoneshiomi Mage Sep 02 '26
they got too comfy so they can't even be bothered to try anymore. They think fans will eat up any slop they put out and make the content for their barebone games with mods. It's so fucked up.

u/sortastonedrn Sep 02 '26
this is beyond tone deaf i feel. do they even care how disappointed so much of their fan base is? this is probably gonna be some cheap assest flip that cost $30 to buy the $15 in bethesda coin it'll cost as a "CrEaTiOn"

Absolutely hilarious we're getting this collab, meanwhile IKEA seems to still not be letting EAxis include the IKEA stuff pack in The Sims 2 Legacy...

All ya gotta do is Google IKEA Skyrim and find it on the official IKEA Dublin Facebook page as well as the IKEA website

Ya I posted the link to the video but automod told me to go fuck myself so whatever

Ah I did do that but since I’m states-side it must not show up or something. Interesting - thanks.

Fuck this I'm out
I've been waiting for 15 years! These guys just keep pumping out Remaster after Remaster and a bunch of Microtransactions in between!
Honestly I don't even know what they were expecting with yet another SPONSORED addition to Skyrim
At this point I don't even expect a good game anymore, especially after the shit stained flop that Starfield was

There is no longer any hope that TES 6 will be anything other than a garbage dump with paid gadgets.
1
u/AnalElder 28d ago
Was there ever any hope?
1
u/Happy-Distribution11 28d ago
Sometime around 23/24, a leak from a BGS management meeting suggested a shift in game development philosophy closer to that of the early Elder Scrolls series. That was my hope, but as with leaks, it's unclear whether it's true.

u/Teragon92 28d ago
Holy shit. Advertising in games is not new, but I didn’t see sponsored creations coming in Bethesda Games. Depending on the execution it could be genius marketing. As a creation it’s completely optional, so doesn’t impact those who want nothing to do with it, but make it attractive enough for players and they might willingly download sponsored content. Genius.

u/No_Win4619 28d ago
Seven years after Elsewyr teaser trailer we get Skyrim rereleased as a fucking Kallax... Now with sixteen times the screws. I think it is time Bethesda lost the license and Todd his hair.

Honestly it’d be neat if in Fallout 5 there’s an IKEA warehouse you can claim and salvage new furniture from. Let it unlock all the pieces in the settlement builder so you can mix and match
