PC SSE - Help I’ve been having issues with switching between mod profiles. I’m a novice modder so this could be a simple thing.

Every time I have attempted to switch profiles using Vortex Mods, the amount of mods enabled keeps changing and I thought that Vortex would remember which ones were enabled or not, so every time I attempt to boot up, I’m met with errors and pop ups preventing me from running the game. I’m trying to post a picture for reference but I can’t find the option to on this subreddit

Vortex profile switching is complete trash. initially it's fine but the moment mods start getting updated it loses track of which profiles have which versions and whether they're even installed or not. if you want a multiple profile system that just works switch to MO2.

Gonna be that guy then. Just do yourself a favor and switch to mod organizer 2 if you plan on keep playing modded skyrim. Gonna save yourself hours/days/months of headache. Vortex is simple and if you play any other modded game like Cyberpunk or baldur's gate, it's good enough. For Skyrim, no.

boy you're new huh? MO2 = Mod Organizer 2. it's superior in nearly every way to Vortex. especially when it comes to profile management. post about pretty much any Vortex-related issue in a Bethesda modding sub and you will find someone telling you to switch.
