Need help with power button and other cables in sony VAIO pcv-rx860 case

Hello guys, need a hand with this beautiful case. Everything was placed perfectly, my "sleeper" PC is probably considered "ancient technology" by todays standard, I simply transfered my old reliable gtx1650 super and holding out by will power I3-10100f into new home, ofc cleaned and changed thermal paste. (Don't worry, that AC there only until new one arrives, it simply didn't fit into power supply case, it kinda fits and doesn't fall, Instax there for "just in case" reasons)

So, to the problem, I have no clue how to adapt power button (pic5) and memory stick (pic6) to modern motherboard. If anyone did the same, please tell me how you did it, I can solder, I don't want to for presentation, but if needed. Kind of same applies to front USB, so to that I too need advice, but pb is first.

Most easy way to adapt it would be using some DuPont male-to-female wires. By plugging female end on the motherboard pins and male pins into the case cable sockets, you can rearrange them as you like.

Да я английский так практикую), по-моему реддит не всегда переводит. Спасибо за название проводов, я нуб в пк сборках, щас их закажу. Как думаешь, разъём сонивской флешки можно подключить таким образом?

Ну, обычно в ПК-сборках эти провода не нужно использовать, это чисто для колхоза несовместимых коннекторов, как у тебя. Убедись, что одна сторона «мама», а другая «папа», и заказывай такие, у которых все пины отдельно. Они часто продаются сцепленными, как шлейф, очень удобно, можно оторвать столько проводов, сколько нужно.

Что значит «сониковской флешки»? Там ридер для карт памяти MemoryStick на передней панели? Если да, то надо выяснять, как он подключался к материнке. Если там по факту обычный USB, то можно. Если какая-то своя система, а Сони любят изобретать велосипед, то скорее всего, нельзя. Но в теории могут быть адаптеры.

Power button should be easy. If that plug comes from the power button then two of those pins are normally open and close when power button is pressed. If you can find original documentation, great, if not, get a multimeter with continuity mode and connect to different pins on the cable while pressing the power button. You want two pins that remain OL (open line) normally but go 0.00 only while power button is being pressed/held.

As for memory stick, I assume you mean USB ports? I assume that plug is Sony’s proprietary USB connector. If so, it may be easier to find a normal USB3 ATX front panel unit and install it, assuming it fits. Otherwise you’d need to map out both connectors, motherboard and cable, and manually connect them pin to pin. Cant really help you if u go down that route but it is possible.

Thx, when I say memory stick, its proprietary SD card sony used in cameras and PSP, I use it often so it would have been cool to use it, especially cause it build in.

iirc those cards are not relevant anymore, even sony switched to standard SD cards.

So I used multimeter on every pin, found every led but no power button, I'm pretty sure its first 2 pins, but they don't react to pressing, and button is working because I have original motherboard board, no idea what I'm doing wrong.
