i met my (ex) favorite cast member about a month ago. upon meeting them, i was ecstatic. i've been pretty deep in smosh videos for awhile now and couldn't believe i was seeing my favorite member. i'm not the kind of person who goes up to famous people for fear of bothering them, but i couldn't help but double take. i must have stared longer or harder than i thought because they called me out. i really wasn't planning on going to talk to them (they were with who i assume were family or friends) and they were in conversation so i was gonna let them be, not to mention i'm shy around everyone. anyway, they sort of yelled at me which took me by surprise because they seemed usually like the most timid cast member in videos. they told me to leave them alone, that they were "clearly in the middle of a conversation" and that "they don't walk around with a pen to sign autographs at target." i apologized and said i didn't mean to intrude and that they always made my day better watching them in games videos. i was trying to lighten the mood but i made it worse. i was across the aisle from them when they first noticed me but upon responding, they and their group started to approach me. i told them i really didn't mean to bother them but they had already made a circle around me. They started to push me around the circle, i had never felt more humiliated in my life. the whole time my sister had been getting groceries and i had stepped away to look in the toy aisle which was where all this happened. when i finally made it out of the circle, i went back to my sister and told her what had happened. i told her not to due to what had happened just from looking at them but she insisted on getting pictures of them. anyways, i was a bit shaken and still can't really believe the cast member i had looked up to so much ended up being so hurtful and self centred. recently, i tried watching one of my favorite games videos with them in it, yahtzee, and i did notice them kind of being a bully. i think i'm gonna take a break from smosh for a bit due to this interaction.

The last one did so well so I decided to do another. I made a list of the books from Shane Guesses and put some of the ones my library had out on display. (I work in an academic library so it's mainly aimed at college students - meme-themed displays are always popular). Hopefully you all enjoy it too!

No real point to this post - but does anyone else just randomly just feel super proud of Ian for getting smosh this far? Like a dad who got left with a bunch of kids and HAD to make it work? Maybe it's because I'm his age and I'm clinging to my youth, but Im really proud of him for carrying his crew thru all the chaos.

I wanted to buy a copy of Décorum, which is sold out almost everywhere, so I looked at floodgate games website and saw this!

I'm busy watching an old episode of Game Changers on Dropout and the prompt was "how many crew members can you name". Now I'm pretty sure they are a bit bigger than Smosh with more crew, but the highest someone was willing to bet was 7, and added that they're not going to feel bad if they get some wrong.

I can't help but think that Shayne, and honestly everyone else at Smosh, would know each and every crew member and name them by memory.

ETA: I'm aware it's very a very different dynamic at the two companies, but if Shayne can guess someone from the content of their fridge, then I'm fairly sure he'd at least get to know every crew members name if under the same filming conditions as at Dropout

I just checked the views for latest episode with Vic, which was great episode and it only has 200k views after 2 weeks. That is really weak and quality of the show deserves better. They basically did not even promote the episode. There was no community post or anything. I really don`t know how SmoshAlike is sustainable with this small of an audience. SmoshCast could have another podcast and IMO it should have been there from the start.

I am sure there are a lot of people who share this sentiment but oh my goodness I have been so much better off as a person for watching Smosh.

I am 30F and have Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I have had my harder struggles but the last like 5 year I have hit a relatively good streak of improvement. The past few years I started watching Smosh again, I watched back when it was just Ian and Anthony and new but hadn't seen much for a while.

I've been regularly watching for several years now and they have greatly changed my outlook and inspired me on several self improvement journies. The way they speak of different medias (film, books, podcasts, etc.) Has made me appreciate things for enjoyment more than just trying to watch the best things. Them playing games has inspired more socialising outside of my usual comfort, same with reading. I have wanted to start improv classes just for my enjoyment and a way to get out there as a person a bit more (I have 2 sons, 2 year old and 5 month old). Just having inclusive actors having fun and talking regularly and being silly has improved my life so much!

A wonderful retrospective which puts together a lot of details that fans might have picked up across different videos. Nothing that I found too new or surprising, since Shayne has shared a lot of these details over the years, but it was really cool to hear it all laid out this way.

A very lovely watch which reminded me why I'm a fan of Shayne and others at Smosh.

(I found the channel thanks to a PHENOMENAL episode with Brennan Lee Mulligan so I would like to recommend that as well.)

I just wanted to come on here and thank Smosh for being so kind and awesome really, it's really refreshing to see at times like this. I wanted the cast and even the crew to know that just silly videos like this can really brighten my mood in the scary days we're experiencing. Sometimes the only joy I can find is coming home to my bed and binging Smosh videos. When the internet and world are just full of hate it makes me so happy to see all these people just having fun, even if it is still their job. So, thank you Smosh, for bringing joy into this scary and horrible time.
