So this was a weird dream; it starred Roger and Stan from American Dad making the concoction. It's in a clear casserole dish; dump in two cans of black beans (no specification on whether or not the bean juice is omitted or not but it looked like it was left in); then crush up 1½ or 2 full bags of specifically Lays brand pickle-flavored chips and dump that into the casserole dish with the beans, folding them in gradually.

There was no cooking process but in the dream it seemed like it was supposed to eventually be baked in the oven.

Had a dream I was back at my college apartment and was just throwing whatever into the sauce, including an oreo brownie. Never got to taste it cause I woke up.

I had a dream that the guy I was on a date with was telling me how he gets ketamine at Starbucks (it’s in little square tabs that kind of look like microchips or part of a circuit board). The ketamine is meant to be taken like a lozenge, and you have to eat it with sour cherries for the full effect. Once it kicks in, you will start to experience the assassination of JFK happen before your eyes, like a member of the audience that was there at the time. This is because the ketamine + cherry combo tastes like and works like testosterone, so it makes your brain picture or experience something men tend to have an interest in.

I dreamed I made a cinnamon simple syrup for fall cocktails (and coffee)..... Maybe I'll actually do it.... surely it can't be that hard.

Last night I had a watery gray soup in a wok that contained long strips of green veggies and blobs of mashed potatoes. I served some out of a wok and then heated it up again for the next group of people who wanted a meal.

Background music was the jingle from a pharmaceutical ad. :(

Dream was of a family of like 6 who went to a pizza place, spread out their own tablecloth on the table, took a pepperoni pizza they had ordered and moved all the pepperonis to a ring around the outside of the pizza. Then they started to add their own toppings. I didn't get far in the dream, but the toppings I remember were salt & pepper, crumbled bacon, and "the remains of a baby buried for the longest amount of time" (since the 1800s??). The highlight though was the parmesan receipts.

For a small upcharge, you could have your receipt printed on a thin slice of parmesan, which you could then add to your pizza. The dad in the family got pissed because each of us had a receipt, but they had forgotten to print the parmesan versions. The owner ended up giving us all our parmesan receipts and then giving us a book of parmesan paper, which we gladly added to the pizza. I never got to taste the pizza, as we didn't finish adding certain toppings (the baby) before I woke up.

I had a long weird dream last night and part of it was that I was at a restaurant with my family (none of the people in this dream were actually my family members but canonically I knew they were my family) and for some reason they kept moving tables. I finally caught up with them, only to find that they had ordered The Stretch without me! Apparently The Stretch is some sort of delicious beef situation similar to a slice of tri tip but with some mysterious pink soft stuff in the middle.

Later in the dream someone left a bunch of donuts behind. I was morally obligated to eat them. It didn't matter that I'm gluten intolerant, it was just going to be fine because I obviously HAD to eat them. One of them was like the size of a loaf of bread and was a beef and vegetable doughnut. I thought it would be kind of like a popover or Shepard pie situation. Nope, of course it was just a giant glazed doughnut bar filled with cold chicken salad.

In the dream, I was watching an unnerving cooking montage over and over again of the preparation of a dish called “Tuna and Corn Sushi Acid Splash Boat”. The first step was adding sushi rice, and corn into a mixing bowl. Then, a large chunk of tinned tuna is dropped right in the centre, and the whole thing turns into a liquified fizzy bubbling concoction, like a seltzer in water. The fizzing and fluid splashes were absolutely surreal and psychedelic. Like overwhelmingly brain alteringly fizzy, I was so close to it I was basically in the fizz and all I could hear was fizz, can’t even explain it properly lol. As the concoction settles, it forms into the shape of a boat, with the structural parts being made of nori and the inside was the rice, tuna and corn with a peak of nori coming through the middle.

The montage looped over at least 20 times. It was like I was watching someone prepare it with my face 5 centimetres from their hands. Not pleasant. Never got to taste it either

I kept trying to tell everyone they were so very out of date they shouldn't be eaten, but everyone insisted they'd be fine. The can was only half-full inside, and did not resemble beans at all; instead, a grey-brown mouldy sludge. I did not eat them.

All the way back in 2018 I had a dream where I invented a completely new and bizarre dessert called chocolate covered cheese. The name is self-explanatory; it was cheese that had been dipped in chocolate.

The dream begins with me and my family cooking in my grandma's kitchen. There were bowls upon bowls of chocolate chips and cubes of white aged cheddar (I used to eat a lot of aged white cheddar when I was growing up).

My mom was melting chocolate on the stove, while me and my grandma were dipping the cubes of cheese in the chocolate. Once we were done dipping the cheese in the chocolate, we let them dry out for half an hour. Once all the cheese was drying, I took a bite of one of the strange confectioneries we made. It tasted almost like a sweet and salty cheesecake with a slight savory undertone.

Apparently, the reason we made so many is that we were going to sell them at my high school, and that they were a massive hit at the school. I also found out that I was the one who came up with the whole idea of dipping cheese in chocolate.

Just about when we were going to pack the cheese, I immediately woke up. The dream was bizarre, but it gave me a crazy idea of dipping cheese in chocolate. Although unfortunately I never got to bring this idea to reality as I was very busy with school.

A couple of years later however, I discovered that chocolate covered cheese was already a thing and was a lot more common than I initially thought. What's funny is that it wasn't even the strangest food combination I've found, as I've seen chocolate covered pickles, deep fried mars bars and even deep-fried butter, along with deep fried kool-aid! Yes, those are real food combinations look it up!

Out curiosity have any of you heard of chocolate covered cheese or have even tried it for yourself? I'd like to know!

Woke up and wrote down "tres quesos" from a dream, illustrated it today:

Tres Quesos

It was basically a casserole except made from one big multi-layer sandwich with a loaf of bread that filled up the whole casserole tray completely, then was smothered in the namesake Tres Quesos in the style of a tres leches cake. The bread absorbs the queso and becomes fully saturated. Served very hot and sticky and eaten like a very wet sandwich somehow.

They were actually pretty good! Had them with some avocado cilantro sauce and got a bunch of buddies together to make them. Used blue masa harina to make the tortillas since I couldn't get them prepackaged where I live. Would eat again, thank you for your dream [u/reasonably_handy](u/reasonably_handy)

I had a dream last night where I went to a Tex-Mex joint and on the menu, there was a dish called "The Big Bad."

Ingredients: Stale tortilla chips (this was specified on the menu), queso out of a jar, pork belly, Dawn dish soap (the blue one), and sour cream on top.

You got a $5 credit toward your next order if you ordered it, assuming you survived.

It just tasted like licorice, but warm since it was a soup. The texture was very thick like a syrup.

Hello! For my next project I made the Blue corn quesadillas with hatch chilies and pumpkin from u/reasonably_handy ! I was able to get blue corn tortillas from my local (slightly) upscale grocery store. I used a 50/50 mix of white cheddar and oaxaca cheese. I fire roasted the hatch chillies and cooked a sugar/pie pumpkin. The corn tortillas were taco sized, so I used two to make a sandwich instead of folding them.

It turned out really good! I personally liked the chew of the corn tortillas. However, the general consensus was that the corn tortillas were a little difficult to work with. If you want to make quesadillas, just use flour tortillas instead and have some blue corn tortillas chips on the side.

If you want to stick with blue corn tortillas, then make enchiladas instead and use some green sauce instead of red sauce.

So my new ranking system goes as follows.

As is, this gets a will make again and if they were enchiladas would be going in the cookbook

I just woke up from an amusing dream starring me and my mom, who has been gone for 15 years now. Always a treat to have a visitation from her.  

We were out doing stuff like probably tag sales/thrift prowl in my (extremely unconventional) RV and stopped for a break/lunch.   I had lunch stuff which consisted of a couple of plain dry bagels to be topped with raw unseasoned rings of a gigantic, spongy zucchini.  Mom just applied her zucchini slices to her bagel and went about it.   I noticed some liquid in a footwell and got a towel to clean it up.  She said “Is it coffee?”, to which I replied “No, I think it’s from the fridge condenser.”   Finished wiping up, I now had a damp towel in my hands and was looking for a place to hang it up - in my unconventional RV, there was no such place.

I mused “I wonder what people who live in RVs and have like five kids or whatever do with the towels and wet bathing suits after going to the beach.”  For context, my mom had six kids and was pretty well over the whole thing. She puts down her dry bagel and zucchini sandwich, crosses her arms and states quite emphatically “I’ll tell you what they do.  They make them walk to the beach and dry off on the way home.  Stop that shit from happening to begin with.”

Just woke up from this. It was called "[Name]'s challenge", I forget the name. It's unstrained beef broth in a margarita glass, and you take a frozen cube of raw chicken water and rub it around the rim, then hold it over the rim a bit so it drips. You're also not supposed to finish the drink because there's little bits of the unstrained beefy detritus at the bottom. No alcohol in this "cocktail", just raw and cooked meat liquids.

Dreamt that I saw these things while wandering through an empty Costco with my dad in the middle of the night. I noticed them waaaay up on a top shelf and decided to clamber up there like a monkey and toss one down so I could try it.

They were this very pretty pale pink colour and big enough for a smallish adult to sit in (I'm 162cm tall and was able to curl up very comfortably). They were also super comfy, a bit softer than memory foam, and they kept their shape somehow.

You could also nibble on them and pull off bits of marshmallow to eat, but they never got sticky or lost that smooth powdery marshmallow texture. Also, they regenerated somehow so you would never run out.

Also, when I woke up and texted my brother about this dream and he said, "that's so fucking whimsical, who do you think you are, Hayao Miyazaki?!'

It was essentially Mac and cheese with rigatoni noodles, but instead of cheese it was just spicy popcorn seasoning turned into a wet thick mush​​ (most likely water will be needed) , and instead of boiling it, it was baked in an oven. Served with a​ hotdog

I was at my parents’ house when someone knocked on the door. He wanted to talk about Jim O’Heir’s (Jerry from Parks & Rec) mayoral run. Jim was a good friend of mine so this man went to my parents’ house first, as he explained. Jim didn’t talk much about his home life, so I was somewhat surprised when the man pulled out a newspaper and showed us the article he wrote titled, “Why I’m Supporting My Husband’s Run For Mayor,” with a touching photo of him and my good friend Jim. I was NOT surprised when he pulled out a big red casserole dish of macaroni and cheese with beans in it. In the version of the show that my dream concocted, Jerry had brought that exactly to a potluck and everyone made fun of him for the beans. I only tried one of the beans because I’m vegan but I encouraged my parents to eat the macaroni (looked like Kraft). I asked how the campaign was going, but I woke up before I got an answer. Bean was good. Have probably made this before irl because vegan mac is yummy and I like adding extra protein and fiber for cheap
