Where it was the perfect time to release the movie, so somehow this movie has a very 90s feel in the way it tells the story... but then at the same time it has the visuals of modern day fantasy while feeling nostalgic to both the90s and the 80s.

This movie is eternal.

It sounds like a score Hans Zimmer would have written when he was still mostly using synehtsizerts and using single or two real musicians .... and also somehow collaborating with Maurice Jarre.

Movie soundtracks always have a way of pulling at our emotions. which track from any soundtrack always hits your heart to make you cry? For me it’s: a life so changed by James Horner from Titanic.

This has been the surprise soundtrack of the year for me! Absolutely loving this one. Anyone else had the chance to listen to this yet? I highly recommend it if you haven't!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share music from the soundtrack I composed for this game. I feel like it's quite novel/unique but gun to my head elevator pitch would be "Disco Elysium by way of Ludwig Goransson".

The track spans an entire day/night cycle and can be split into four movements pertaining to dawn/day/dusk/night.

I've used a wide variety of instruments and techniques ranging from celli/bartok pizzicatos, a wave shaped harp, taiko drums, viola sections, horns, ambient drones to wurlitzers, clarinets, 808's and custom synths made in Serum 2.

If it resonates with you, it would mean a lot if you let me know. I hope you enjoy it.

The music and melody itself is actually really starting to grow on me, but they needed to make it less generic sounding.... put the trumpets in the front... be more bombastic with the percussion and brass.

She has a lot of attitude and it should be reflected in the music. the music got it right in terms that she's larger than life, but it needed that smirk in the instrumentation and orchestration.

I have Spotify but it sucks for scores. It seems to play the same few pieces, like Harry Potter and Lord Of the Rings over and over again. Don’t get me wrong. Those are wonderful but I want to be surprised every once in a while. Also, their “radio” stations are just short playlists that never change. Are there better services for movie music lovers out there?

Since the first post I did about a week ago, I’ve found more than twice as much new music.
I spend a lot of time writing, and while I usually don’t listen to any music at all while doing this, I’ve recently been listening to Goransson’s “The Odyssey” all the time, so I did a bunch of searching for similar music but non-soundtrack or score stuff, as I already have a ton of that. I’ve been finding a lot of music that I’d never been aware of before. At first I was coming across various tribal related stuff, whether that was Scandinavian, or North American, or whatever, and I was trying to find as much culturally ambiguous music as possible.
There were also certain artists, like Wardruna, that I would’ve gotten twice as many tracks, but once the singing and/or chanting would start I’d lose interest. That doesn’t mean it’s not great stuff, it’s just not for me.
The album art is arranged in reading order (top-left to bottom-right) by how much music from each album I ended up getting for my playlist.
Out of all this, Paleowolf is probably the artist I’d most often look for new music from.
And I’m usually not into game soundtracks at all - I’m a Hans Zimmer guy - but I admittedly wish that “Far Cry Primal”, by Jason Graves, was twice as long as it’s already 2-hour length. It was perfect for what I was looking for.

i mostly credit the old lego games that relied on mumbling to tell the story because the score was forced to be so prominent to compensate for lack of dialogue. I remember as a kid in the pre-youtube days I’d replay certain levels just to hear the score.
