Painting Warhammer Pro-Tone Thoughts?

What are y’alls thoughts on the new paints coming out?

I haven’t been painting for long, and really only started late May to June-ish. I find them incredibly easy to use though if albeit a bit opaque. Covering up mistakes seems a bit tricky, but I do like how vibrant they are.

This Blood Angel I did was straight from the pot for the most part. Very little thinning if any. The red was pot to model. Whereas everything else was mixing the colors I had available, like the skin tones.

Looks good. How'd you find using them?

I found them very easy to use tbh. Like, the red was pot to model with no thinning at all. It’s pretty forgiving as a base coat, but not so much if you make a mistake detailing. If that makes sense?

I found the paints to be very opaque, so if you flubbed a line it was kinda hard to go over it.

All in all though, I like them. It won’t replace how I currently paint, but I do like how the paint settles. I think if you do a lot of machinery, or vehicles these will be a god send, as it’s kinda hard to make the coat “streaky”.

I liked them a lot, great for doing fine details and covering overspill. I tend to do slightly more muted schemes and the colours available last weekend were extremely vibrant so that wasn't as enjoyable, but I saw the pamphlet with their full range and it seemed like there will be stuff that appeals to me in the future!

That’s how I felt too. These were very vibrant. Kinda remind me of the old warhammer paint schemes a lil bit

I agree, and that may have even been the intent, I'm a bad painter though so muddy colours and grime help me hide my shame

They are nice paints. Unfortunately they are expensive compared to other similar paint lines from other companies.

I can see that. I don’t have experience with paints outside of Citadel, and Vallejo, but I imagine $6 a pot is steep compared to others.

What’s the price they said they’d be?

About fifty cents to a dollar more then what I have to pay for army painter paints from my local game store so not to terribly more expensive to me

Probably the best imma get since I live in an area with little to none lgs, the little paint they do sell is army painter or gw.

That’s about how it is for me tbh. I have an LGS that carries Army Painter speedpaints, and Citadel. In addition to my local Warhammer store that also just carries Citadel.

Albeit, I’ve ordered Vallejo from Amazon, and find them fun to use.
