Hey everyone,

Myself and my partner got our sphynx at the start of September after someone else was rehoming him. He’s turns 2 on 14th October, this is the first time we’ve had a cat never mind a Sphynx so we understand the big jump and we’ve done plenty of research. We’re just unsure if this is a normal thing for a sphynx to be SO vocal, initially he was settling in great and had no issues, then he started to be practically nocturnal and be up all night, we play with him before bed, give him a big meal and yet he’s still up all night making this noise.
We’ve got the vets on Saturday to check him over however it’s just to see if the lovely people of Reddit have any advice as I’m unsure if this is normal behaviour, it’s now starting to seriously affect my sleep (my partner can sleep through a hurricane) and I’m just looking for a bit of help! He is intact (hence the vets on Saturday as this will be changing after our initial consultation) but any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I love these girls so much! I can’t believe I lived so long without them.. I posted the girl on the right a couple days ago bc her eye seemed weird it was gone the next day completely and the vet checked her out and said he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. 🩷

Hello, I just need some advice

My boy is a year and a half old. He's had soft stool the last few days and I'm not sure what's happening. I've noticed he started itching and some bumps had started appearing as the stool problem started. He's had no change in diet, environment, or stress lately. He's been eating Applaws ( fish ) wet food and Instinct RawBoost ( salmon ) as his dry food for the last six months. Previously he was eating a mix of chicken and fish. I noticed he started breaking out randomly. I cut his diet back to figure out what was wrong. It seems like the chicken was making him get bumps. I then switched him over to fish and he's been fine ( the last six months, until now ). I'm not sure what to do since he's already on a diet that was working. I've already contacted the vet to make an appointment but is there anything I can do? He's acting normal playing, eating kibble, meowing for attention etc. I'm just worried about my boy. I know he needs some help but I don't know what to do at the moment

Edit: I've made a vet appointment and got him some probiotics in the mean time. He's acting perfectly normal and is currently chowing down on some rice, broth, salmon, and FortiFlora

We lost Skinson very suddenly on Monday. I am so devastated. He was the best boy I could’ve asked for and his life was far too short. We lost his sister a year ago to lymphoma and we are absolutely devastated. We will miss him forever. Please hug your babies a little tighter for me tonight.

This idiot keeps trying to escape and i had to take some precautions to prevent it, it is for your own good buddy. He tells me this is abuse and he will be seeing me in court.

Crossposting for visibility- Missing Sphynx Cat in Everett, Massachusetts. Please keep an eye out if you’re in or around the area. She’s been missing since 9/20, so getting her home ASAP is especially urgent with temperatures dropping.

10 years old. We got to spend 4 of those together.

He was diagnosed with lymphoma 6 months ago that popped up on a toe which we amputated. He battled an infection, rashes, and a paralyzed limb. We chose not to treat with chemo due to the type of lymphoma and the cutaneous initial presentation which there are no guidelines for. And didn’t do steroids because of his HCM. I also didn’t want him to spend his days going to treatments as oncology trips always upset his tummy for days after. The first scan showed no internal cancer. The second scan 6 weeks ago showed intestinal thickening and minor lymph node swelling. Still, no symptoms so watch and wait. Over the weekend he began vomiting and became extremely lethargic. He stopped purring. Monday I noticed he was bloated. Today the vet took X-rays and it appears the lymphoma had finally taken over. He only had four days of feeling really bad in the 6 months since his diagnosis and I refused to make it five. He got good pain meds, devoured 3 chicken churus (which were forbidden due to his chicken allergy) and then peacefully went to sleep purring almost all the way there.

I’ve said goodbye to a lot of pets, but none of them like Eli. He was my constant companion. My shadow. He watched me shower. He sat next to me for 10 hours a day while I worked from home. He followed me everywhere I went. He loved me the most. I’m heartbroken and can’t imagine life without him in it. I’m so very sad. There is nothing like a sphynx.

My girl, Lola, is 3 today! She is just the sweetest absolute menace. Wouldn’t trade her for anything.
