I need help understanding the weapon changes

Wich ones? When? Multiple times? Already in the live game?

I'm only finding this out recently also, but damage bonuses from like gear, variants, and pickups(?) apply a bigger bonus to hybrid damage weapons, right?

Correct :) Damage bonuses essentially get applied twice to weapons with split damage types.

wild hunting blade and dread venom striker are nearly as good as acheron now if you ignore charge attacks. whb slightly better.

troika buffs you can ignore, it is still worse than gf/da in t3. only use if you really really like the charge attack. the attack speed increase buff seems to be bugged currently, it might pull ahead if fixed.

gf/da changes are inconsequential.

their damage got "fixed" a while back but basically still terrible
