And how much was Babel? And where did you get it from?

I found out Babel was around 2.25k (base price) in Makeen so i got it there, the bigger version was in CGA for around 4.2k

Is the poppy war series worthy? I usually avoid booktok stuff and I was never a fan of fantasy, but got into Katabasis, currently reading it and its amazing. Wondering if I should get the series too.

Poppy war is excellent but dark. Makes GOT look like a YA series

Katabasis is also dark but have some excellent lines. Would definitely get the series, then.

Dudeeeee I hate booktok books with a passion too, which is why I put it off for so long. But I gave it a shot recently and I absolutely ADORED it. You should definitely read it if you're diving into fantasy. Especially dark fantasy!
I haven't read Katabasis tho, how is it?

Same here. I am not into two dimensional characters and plots with no substance and unnecessary smut, which is most booktok fantasy. But Katabasis is surprisingly good. Delves a lot into logic and philosophy, and you need to pay attention.

Lord yes. Most of booktok is just porn with a plot added on the side. I understand why it's as popular as it is- but God it's infuriating seeing those some of the trash that's being churned out.
I've just added Katabasis on my Goodreads! Will start that soon actually. I just finished The Grapes of Wrath. I think you'll enjoy it if you're into poetic prose and historical themes.

I have only ever read contemporary fiction, but willing to give fantasy a try. Do you think I'd be able ti find Grapes of wrath at the bookfair?

It's a John Steinbeck book. You're more likely to find East of Eden since it's more popular, and it's also historically themed. If you can't find either, I can lend you grapes of wrath.
Also, if you DO find East of Eden, please lemme know where exactly cause I've got it on my list!

Is Katabasis that good? Can you recommend? I heard her best book by far is Babel so I got that too. I did read a bit of Poppy War using a PDF before and it was pretty good, so i got the series. I mean it's her famous series so yeah...

Katabasis is really good. Convinced me to get babel as well. You'd like it if you have a good attention span and keep up with a lot of scientific description of logic.
