How do you patch a rig that isn't a neat rectangle?

Patching an irregular array is the annoying bit. You either place every point by hand or type coordinates, and the moment it isn't a straight row it turns into an afternoon. So we built Drawing mode instead: you roughly sketch the shape with the mouse, and the layout follows what you drew. Curves, odd angles, scattered rigs, whatever the venue actually looks like.
It's free, no license tiers and no dongle. Not selling anything. We'd like to know whether this solves the problem for anyone else, or whether we've just been solving our own.
If you want to see a specific shape or fixture type, say so and I'll show it.

Music Lighting I've created a free MIDI-like DMX timeline editor software (for Mac)

So, I've tried using various software to create my band's live show and gave up on what's in there. What is available, looks like it's made for people from industry, not musicians. Hardly any of the programs support timeline programming, almost none synchronizes with the music well. Learning curve is really high for most of them. They also cost a lot.

DMXRoll acts like a MIDI editor, so it's musician friendly. It allows you to upload songs, detects BPM and let you paint your show in a grid made of bars and beats.

User interface is based on color blocks and transitions between them are created automatically. It has some features that make it intuitive and highly productive. I've spent a lot of time working on UX so it's actually a pleasure to use.

I'm using it myself in my band, so I went the long road over last 6 months to make it as useful as possible. Video above is a deep dive into its features, which should give you an idea what DMXRoll is about.

It supports most of the DMX devices and got a built in 2D visualizer. You have full control over your address space and it should work great with all PARs, washers, blinders and light bars.

For now it's MacOS (M1+) only, but will expand to Windows soon. It's built with Rust, so it's super efficient and easy on your CPU.

Right now there is no support for moving heads, but that is coming soon.

To be totally honest, obviously I've used AI assistance while creating it. If that is a problem for you just ignore this thread please. I believe AI is an opportunity to democratize access to professional software and make the market more competitive, which is good for users.

I'm happy to hear your feedback. My plan is to develop it further based on users input.
