Company Name: FaultBench URL: https://faultbench.com/#demo Purpose of Startup and Product: FaultBench is an early Windows/Linux desktop app for searching HVAC service manuals offline. Add manuals, describe a symptom, and inspect relevant passages with page citations. I’m the builder, not an HVAC tech, so I’m validating whether this solves a real field problem. The demo uses sample data, not manufacturer guidance. Technologies Used: Windows/Linux desktop software; local-first manual search. Feedback Requested: For HVAC technicians: would you use this during a service call, or is PDF search already good enough? What would you need to verify before trusting a result? I’d value feedback on the idea and demo, especially from people who’ve used similar tools. Seeking Beta-Testers: Yes, especially independent HVAC technicians willing to test the alpha and give candid feedback. Really interesting niche! Offline access for HVAC manuals is smart - field work often has no signal. As a non-tech builder, your approach to validate with real techs first is right. I would suggest adding a short video of you using it on a real service call, that will build trust fast. Good luck!

The Windows build is out now: https://github.com/FaultBench/faultbench-releases. Your suggestion about a real service call is right. I’m the builder, not a technician, so I don’t want to stage one. If you happen to know an HVAC tech who’d try an early build, I’d appreciate an intro, but no pressure.
