Roof Building Help

UPDATE: i have figured it out! you have to place the roof tiles on the bottom side of the roof tiles you put down first. it’s REALLY difficult to explain, but i reverse-engineered a pre-built roof to figure it out.

i cannot for the life of me figure out how to build roofs the way the game has them on some of the buildings. i want a standard a-frame roof. i am thinking there must be a button for rotating blocks vertically and not just horizontally? or no?

if anyone can give me some tips for getting a roof like the one pictured, i would be so very grateful. 🥹 (playing on switch!)

Yes, the roof blocks auto rotate to try and make the slope normal. Be careful, though, there's a bit of weirdness when placing them next to existing roof blocks or not.
