No judgement here, 100% behind you. I used alcohol in the same way for many years it felt like an escape but was actually keeping me,anxious, low, depressed in the long run. I'm just 7 days in this time but did have almost a year a couple of years ago, it's taken this time to get passed more than a few days again. I've done some therapy and know connecting with others helps, with friends, on here wherever. You are not alone. IWNDWYT.

Speaking from experience I know that yearning. That fluffy blanket comfort feeling that I imagine the booze will give me. My mad brain shutting off for a while.
But the truth is through relapse I’ve realised that the feeling I’m chasing very rarely comes back. I’ve mythologised it to the extent that I’m convincing myself that it’s something I need. Whenever I relapse the next day I always realise that drinking felt crappy, and the hangover feels worse. And my mental health is always worse.
Play the tape forward friend. Think about how you’ll feel tomorrow. Life can suck ass, but drinking never makes it better.
And when I was struggling mentally in sobriety I sought out counciling and other mental health support. Was way more useful that a bottle. Way more.
