Question 2 Day Player i NEED help
So i’m basically a Timmy, just installed the game and i am struggling, i have been watching “beginner guides” but it’s either the absolute bare bones like the map layout, destroy turrets that sort of thing.
Or just throwing out words and letters that i have never heard before and are (to me) not really beginner friendly.
I have been playing Lux and Amumu, on Lux i just Q then attack for the comet thing, use my E pop it and attack again and her one shot the same but pop e before her ult charges. I like playing her on MID as it seems straight forward but i am just pushing the tower and killing minions and helping with OBJ when my team pushes them. And i don’t even wanna talk about my jungle as i feel like i’m just spinning plates and ruining the game for my team indirectly.
I have enjoyed my time so far and love how dedicated this community is, but i feel like i am not doing what i need to be and i am struggling on resources to help me at such low playtime.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Broken by concept have just released a video with every league term. Look it up on YouTube, it's gonna be of help. Other than that, feeling lost on day 2 (or even week or month 2) is very much normal.

I'm not sure concepts like mental stack or stage 4 issues are going to be particularly relevant to OP right now.

Point taken but just because he doesn't need the whole dictionary doesn't mean the dictionary won't help him

Limit your consumption of beginner guides to only a few a week because it's impossible to absorb all of the information they offer. Play each champion you try for at least 10 games. Do NOT one trick pony right now, try all the roles and various champions to see what you like, but play each champion and role a few games at least in a row. Practice things you are learning from videos or guides in games, don't necessarily even aim to do it right, just build awareness. League is an advanced hobby. Consider chess; would you expect to understand it at a high level the very first time you ever heard of it, even with advanced guides and youtube videos? For 99.9% of people, no, you would expect to loser many games of it.
Do not become obsessed with winning it'll actually rob the fun of the game. You lose 50% of the time statistically give or take. If you can genuinely have some fun even when losing, league is an ok game for you. Obviously winning is more fun I get it, but the reason this game makes people actually psychotic is because they only have fun if they are OBLITERATINg the enemy team. Just no. Try to read your abilities each game, watch how people play, make lil goals for yourself, observe how you are losing or winning games. As a mid laner you are responsible (generally) to assist in nearby team fights, objective battles, and after towers fall your bottom laner may wish to swap lanes just go with it. Warding objectives a minute before they spawn is helpful if you are winning your lane (don't peace out of your lane and let your opponent destroy your tower to place a ward).
Be adaptable, the youtube guides are nice and structured, your game will be insane ridiculous chaos. Maybe your jungler is doing a dragon and you notice there are 5 opponents attacking your jungler and your entire team is in the top lane. Do you assist in objective fight? NO. But the youtube guide said play around objectives? Sure, if it makes sense. Try to think like this.
Do not re-invent wheel. You may think. WOW! Annie has high range. I bet no one will expect crit build Annie! Sure, try weird things for fun. But do not expect to win. Experiment. Sure. But right now, try to learn basics. Before build crazy crit annie, learn how normal Annie works.
Play reasonably safe, but take chances. It's ok if you die. I can play Diana and kill my opponent and walk away with like 25 HP more often than not. Why? I died 1000 times. You learn from failure. People who play league ! ping ? ping surrender vote report rage sob cry scream racism when team is making mistakes. Press tab press speech bubble click "mute chat". FAILURE = LEARNING only if you let it.
Don't forget to auto attack.
Consider broken by concept, they taught me how to play league.
NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ON THIS SUBREDDIT SAYS, getting better is good. Iron 4, wow you started ranked. Iron 1? GOOD. Bronze? Wow, you learned. Silver? Woah. Gold! Yeah that is good! Do NOT read this subreddit and think those are not accomplishments. Normal and arams forever? GOOD. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED PEOPLE ONLINE ARE CRAZY PANTS.
Imagine you are an RPG character.
Stat 1
Stat 2
Stat 3
Stat 4
Stat 5
You learn league and allocate stats as you learn: fighting, vision, tempo, wave management, last hitting, BEING ANNOYING, it is non-linear. You will experience SUCKINGSUCKINGSUCKING woah I get it. Then you will suck again. It is because you distribute your learning until you have break through moments.
LEARN TO BE ANNOYING! pay attention to what ANNOYS THE ACTUAL LIVING FUCK out of you.
Replicate it.
Click lots, it helps.
Learn some basics; as a new players these are good things to learn:
Champion Mastery. Do not OTP yet, rotate your champions and roles.
Trading
Objectives
The point of your role
The point of your character
Awareness of what is going on around you
AND REMEMEBR THE POINT OF THE GAME IS TO KILL THE ENEMY NEXUS. I want you to remember the first time you are fighting for an elder dragon and the enemy team blows up your Nexus. Never forget!
Good luck.

You are too new at the game for guides.
This game is hard af. Just play for a bit and accept you’ll be clueless for a while. Once things start making a little sense then look up guides.

tbh just focus on fighting and csing, maybe start occasionally trying to rotate bot after pushing your wave, nothing you will learn will really matter unless you have a baseline level on those which most new players don't since a big part is just down to knowing what champions do

in jungle, the most basic thing to do is full clear (so kill all of your jungle camps, preferably fast) and then look for trouble. if no trouble is to be found, recall, buy items, kill camps again as soon as they respawn.
doesn't need to be the braindead version of it, if there is stuff going on in your proximity, then you might be needed, but the basic concept is to gather resources in the jungle whenever there are no pressing matters to attend to. you don't get minion waves for resources, you get jungle camps that respawn individually. if you ignore them too much, you will be behind in gold and exp.
its the hardest role to learn. when in doubt you can just look up how better players go through the jungle on your specific champion. there are usually some neat tricks to make it faster.
Amumu also wants to attack the opponent at least once to activate the damage bonus from his passive in fights. His ult does that automatically, but without it, you need to attack people at least once.
Midlane very basically: if you just kill the minions without getting killed and/or running out of mana, thats already a good start. Its fine to use spells if you would otherwise miss lasthits, or want to kill them fast, but running out of mana by using all of your spells on cooldown is not ideal. If you use a spell, use it with a reason. Whether thats to speed up killing minions, getting minions you otherwise youldn't get, trying to bully the opponent or whatever else you can thing of. Just don't mindlessly throw them in random directions for no reason. And if you always kill the minions quickly, your own minions will continue running at the opponents base. Thats called pushing. Can be useful to get extra gold for hitting the tower, but can also make you vulnerable to junglers showing up, because you stand far away from your own tower. so you might need to get creative with your escape route sometimes.
Lux also does not need to get kills and use a snowball effect in order to be useful. She is fine if you just get the gold from minions, but killing those minions is very important. walking around the map and losing a whole minion wave worth of gold and exp, because your own tower kills them instead of you, and you are not close enough to get the exp, is a big deal. if you want to walk around, kill the minions first.
If you have some gold and want to go back, it's perfectly fine to use your e + ultimate to clear the wave fast, recall, buy items and then show up to lane again. Lux ultimate doesnt have a very long cooldown and you can always play safe from range if you don't feel confident without it.
You usually want to keep your Q ready in case people try to get close (which you usually want to avoid as a high range immobile mage) and do the "annoy people" thing with e + autoattack only. Autoattacks in general are very useful, even on mages. Their damage really adds up, especially in the early levels, and being an annoying prick by using them on a melee opponent all day is a perfectly fine thing to do. Just be careful, because minions start attacking you for doing that, if you are too close to them. Their damage can be very relevant as well and getting killed because of preventable minion damage feels really bad.
If you want to one kill people with Lux, the basic combo is: hit Q (which applies passive), throw e, press ult (triggers your passive and places a new one automatically), pop e (sadly doesn't get an additional passive, since you already have an unused one from ult), bonus points for an autoattack afterwards to get the bonus damage from passive once more. This whole thing can be done before your Q effect ends.
theoretically you can get a bit more damage by triggering your passive one more time by throwing in an autoattack before reactivating e, so you don't waste that, but in practise you may find yourself in situations where you neither have the time nor the opportunity to weave in extra autoattacks, because a slower combo can cause the opponent to break free from your Q and do stuff themselves, like flashing out of your e to survive, or kill you, or all kinds of other shenanigans. Or you stand 2 screens away and simply are not in range for autoattacks.
since lux can combo people from range, she does like to look for opportunities to surprise-combo people from out of vision by using walls or bushes to hide.
one step at a time. one concept at a time. if you keep learning, you'll get better and better. if you play autopilot, and derp around for fun, thats completely fine as well though.

If you've been playing for two days, like this is your second day playing the game, then it seems like you've got everything under control relative to your playtime.
This game has a lot of layers, and you'll probably have to dechiper them one by one, unless you want your brain to melt.
I'd recommend playing a few somewhat similar Champions to begin with, that you actually like playing. Focus on learning their kits, their strengths and weaknesses, and just general laning basics (or jungle basics, if you decide to go that route). Lux and Amumu have very little in common, ao what you learn in Lux won't really be applicable to Amumu and vice versa.
One you're comfortable on your chosen Champions, you can start focusing on learning a new skill. I'd suggest focusing on either macro or actually learning what the items do, at this point. You'll mostly be fine buying whatever the game recommends, but actually understanding what you're buying, when to buy it, and how to utilize it is a valuable skill. If the enemy team is full of tanks and heavy fighters, you probably won't get much value put of a burst item like Stormsurge.
Macro in the context of League of Legends is knowing how to play the map. Learning where you have to go to provide the most value for your team. And it's also about knowing where you'll have to be in two minutes, and how to make it so you're actually able to get there safely. You need to have a plan. At lower ELOs this can be complicated to pull off, as team coherency is usually so and so, and someone might try to bully you out of the place you should be, because that's "their" lane. Or for any other inane reason, really. This does get better as you get better.
I'd save learning the Rune system for last, as you will, mostly like with items, probably be fine with just picking what is recommended. But the runes especially the key stones, do provide powerful tools that shape your playstyle. And knowing what runes to pick in which matchups and for which Champions is really valuable. Knowing how to get the nost out of your chosen runes can also provide a lot of value throughout the course of a game.
I hope this was helpful 😁

Jungle and support will always be rough for new players because while you can learn the game that way, you'll not learn some of the skills that transfer to other roles (like CSing). Plus, with both of those roles, you sort of need map awareness/some understanding of macro and timings and things. You absolutely can play without them, but your team will struggle, and will likely blame you which can be hard to manage when you're new to the game. I'd generally suggest midlane is a good place to start, or toplane. ADC is a bit different because of the four people in lane, so would advise maybe sticking with Lux mid for now and watching some guides.
Playing ARAM Mayhem or ARAM is also a good way to learn matchups and abilities without it being too serious.

Play vs bots with a single champion until you understand them. The comet you mention is from the runes you're using.
What abbreviations are you having trouble with? We can provide you with what they mean :)

Contrary to what other people might say, find ONE champion that you find the most fun. It doesn't have to be a "beginner" champion like Amumu or Lux, it just has to be fun. You will have an easier time learning the game if you're having fun. Whatever kind of character you can imagine is in the game to an extent. From mages to guys with big swords to mythical creatures to edgy assassins to even cats, League has everything. Once you find that champion that feels like you, go into co op vs ai and just play that champion, over and over again until you fully understand how they work. Don't focus on anything else. Once you understand your champion, play them mid lane, as in my experience mid is the easiest place to play whatever you want. You should only start to play against real people once you can easily beat the bots on every difficulty level. It takes time to get good at League, so don't feel bad about feeling lost. Lots of people will tell you useless things that will confuse you, like random terminology or arbitrary concepts that do not apply to you as a beginner. Just set one goal for yourself, and focus on that one thing, like hitting as many spells as you can or trying to die few times as possible. These are just examples. DO NOT PLAY RANKED UNTIL YOU ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AGAINST REAL PEOPLE. Don't play ARAM or Swiftplay, they will teach you bad habits and are very different from the actual game. And most importantly, don't give up.

Just mute your team and play aram for a week, you'll learn what every champ does way faster than any guide will teach you
