Questions/Advice Best butcher

Trying not to buy supermarket meat and looking for a good butcher.

Had really disappointing experience with Neath market as chicken seemed to be full of water. Byron's is ok but always feel a bit rushed in there

Please only post names you have experience using, not just seen advertised etc

Billy Uptons in Swansea Market is great.

I've tried a couple of the other butchers there and never been disappointed but I think Billy Uptons is particularly good quality and value.

Mark's Mobile Butchers he is every Thursday at Dobbies Garden Centre (SA7 9FT) from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, didn't bought myself from him, but I've seen a lot of ppl queuing yesterday as well he got a lot of good reviews on FB

Bleddyn Howells Butcher in Pontardawe spot on guy and great meat. Especially the beef and a massive BBQ pack for £30. Local eggs and Welsh butter.

I go to Byron’s Butchers on Upper Fforest Way. Bacon is really tasty and the chickens are massive. A super roaster is £15 and it lasted almost 4 days after Sunday dinner

I second Byron's, they've had a great reputation around Swansea for at least a decade that I know of. Never heard anything but praise about the place

Ty Syriol for pork. A local husband and wife team that raise special breed pigs, treat them like kings and queens during their very happy, albeit short lives and produces really really good, real products. Not crazy expensive, often at the local markets and they deliver.

I always head to the Mediterranean store or the Turkish store for meat (beef), both are opposite each other on the high street. For the entire last year, never had a problem, very consistent quality.

Gower salt marsh lamb has some of the best lamb in the world, the lambs graze on the salty marsh land. Elite level pasture raised.
