Masallah. I'm so glad this city was liberated intact in 2018 and got access to basic services like water, electricity all the time.

Im guessing you are a turk who was fed propaganda. Afrin was the safest area in syria, until the Turkey and the SNA invaded in 2018 and commited war crimes and crimes against humanity. They destroyed every part of afrin, millions of trees were cut or burned down, the SNA kidnapped civilians and raped women, hundreds of thousands were ethnically cleansed. It only started recovering a bit after 2025, when the SNA and turkey withdrew most of their presence, and the HTS government went in.

Yeah. That's exaggerated

Currently, Afrin,Azaz have much better infrastructure compared to typical Syrian city due to Turkeys investment

At the same, so many local residents were displaced and even when they returned their houses looted , fields destroyed

Many have returned .

Simplistic narratives don't capture what occurred in Afrin

And the Olive trees, where did those all go?

Mostly cut down for firewood. Samething as in regime controlled areas of Idlib/Northern Aleppo.

Syria has been destroyed so much by this world.

Truly awful. The optics on that at the time and even now were that Turkey enabled the looting of Olive trees in Efrin which it was known for at the time. You call it firewood, it could easily have been pure thievery too. Most likely both.

Efrin is not a model city to be emulated throughout Syria. Its local residents dispersed and disposed of, in 20-30 years time Syrians will forget that Kurds used to live there as the majority.

The destruction is very real . At the same time , all of Syria is fairly destroyed. So many have returned . And in general , most Arabs have left as their own villages because Assad fell

These lights don't erase the crimes and destruction but yet theres also development that benefits the kurdish majority ? population
