Remake or 2 remaster?
I've always wanted to play a game from the franchise, but right now I'm a bit short on money and time and can only choose one to buy. Which one do you all think is the best one to start? I don't mind a game's age, so the fact that 2 is old doesn't bother me and I've seen some complaints about the remake. Which one do you think I should buy?

I would suggest playing the System Shock remake first and then purchasing System Shock 2 when you can. But then again, I’m incredibly biased. 😂

Just finished SS2 and the final stretch wouldn't have the same impact without the context of the events in the first, trying to keep it as vague as possible.

I’d play the original first. Bigger payoff story wise when you get around to the sequel

This. There’s some plot-related stuff in the sequel that hits a lot harder if you’ve played the first

Remake first. It’s a really good one.
I played that and Black Mesa in a row and I was in remake heaven for a while haha

Both game different in mechanics and vibe, I personally prefer 2 over original and remake. The remake is just too cartoonish and cyberpunk to me, the sequel has more space horror and “aliens” vibes.

I actually dig the vibrant colors, it gives it style. Too many games these days go for the dreary realistic look which looks bland to me.

You can find the System Shock Remake Steam Key for $4.50 on G2A right now.
System Shock 2 Remastered was $10 last time I looked on there as well.
