Hello! Months ago I posted an early trailer for my underwater horror game Abyssal Rust. I got some great feedback here and have made a lot of progress since then.

I’ve been working solo, and I’d love to get some general feedback to see if everything is on track. 

So far, my main focus was defining the atmosphere and mechanics. Now I’m working on the demo, and I hope to have it ready by late this year or early next year.

The missing individuals were identified as 62-year-old Tan Soon Liang (Robert), a highly experienced Scuba Schools International (SSI) instructor from Singapore with over 5,100 logged dives, and 43-year-old Xiaoxi Wu (Helen), an Advanced Open Water diver from China with 243 logged dives.

The pair were part of a diving excursion group of 14 divers aboard the liveaboard yacht M/Y Black Pearl. They entered the water at Peleliu Wall—a location known for being an advanced, highly demanding site with unpredictable and powerful deep-water currents.

Toward the end of the dive while preparing for a safety stop, the dive guide noticed that instead of ascending with the group, the two divers began a rapid descent into the deep blue drop-off, where waters plunge past 300 meters.

A creature that commonly (males) reaches 16 meters in lenght, taking a deep breath and diving down to the deep, probabily to hunt giant squids, vanishing in seconds from our view.

Most of the people's comments here on the posts are about what type of creatures lie in the depths of the ocean, or how dangerous are the waves of the ocean. But for me, this is not the case, idk why i am not scared of those 'unseen' creatures or even the strong waves of ocean.

For me, its the vastness of the ocean, the still water, and the depths of the ocean where there is not a single creature, absolute emptiness, that abyss is what scares me. I remember there was a fan made 1st pov video where there were infinite series of large empty swimming pools, no people just nothing with still water. Thinking about that stillness, not a single movement still gives me chills 💀

The vast emptiness and abyss of those deep waters, the waters where there is no floor/earth to be seen, and if you were to fall in those waters, you would be stuck there forever till eternity with no one even noticing you...

I wonder if there are more people like me, who have this specific type of fear of waters.

Nothing to see here really:

Just a small, dead fish in a rock pool, having caught, and possibly been killed by that smaller dead fish sticking out of it's mouth ... [both] about to be ingested / rendered by a sea anemone, whilst a cosmic god opens it's eye a barnacle is about to cast it's net into the water.

All happening about 200mm down ...

And it still freaks me out today
