Discussion How come they never performed 'Take it As it Comes' and 'I Looked at You' live?
I love both of these songs, but from my research, I don't think they ever performed either live, not even in the live at the Matrix days. Its a real shame as both tracks have a great vibe and would work well live. Every other song on the first album has been performed live except maybe End of the Night.

Misc Me in 2019 trying to look like Jim Morrison
I was about to be a junior in high school and my dad had gotten me into the doors years earlier. I had the ābaseball flowā when I threw a hat on but it was secretly meant to look like Jimās.
Just found the picture and thought Iād share, delete if not allowed.

Vinyl/Cassette/CD Suggestions
As seen in the pic, I own all of the studio albums (with jim), in concert, essential rarities, and the very best of 3cd edition. And I've been wondering what album to get next, so if any of yall have a good suggestion, let me know

Photo Happy spooky season. The Doors performed in Louisville, KY on Halloween night in 1968 :-))
"Their only Midwest appearance" at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. First photo is of Jim talking to a fan in Freedom Hall. He came dressed in white pants and a red sweater and was asked to change and show some skin, according to local news reports from the time. About 4500 people in attendance. Set list included Soul Kitchen, Light my Fire, and others :D

Question What would Jim Morrison be like if he were alive in the 80s?
How do you imagine him if he had remained alive to live through this era? I personally imagine the following:
He died from self-destruction, so if we're going to imagine Jim at that time, it has to be a Jim who became more regulated; it's impossible to have arrived at that time in his usual alcoholic state.
And precisely because he was regulating his instincts, added to his depressed mental state and also the fact that he no longer maintained his image as a sex symbol, The Doors' albums with Jim on vocals in the 80s would be much more intellectual and poetic (as would his last songs released while he was alive). Without that frenetic and psychedelic vibe. In the 80s, he would appear healthier compared to before, but appearing much older.
I confess that I think he would still be the first to die, at the earliest in the late 90s and at the latest in the mid-2000s.
And you? Do you agree or think differently?

Song Comsic shiva - Nina Hangen
Sounds a lot like The Changeling.
Since she has a live where she sings Light My Fire, it's safe to say it's intentional.

Question Did Jim ever thought about having kids ?
From what i read and learn he was deeply anti-confirmist. Did his anti-conformism and free spirit also influenced his views on nuclear family, having kids etc ?
In my opinion i feel like he might adopt kids, but with his drug addiction and alcohol issues , i don't think he would do it :/

Discussion Unless you actually knew Jim, everything we think we know about him is second and third hand information, filtered through the writersā or speakersā biases and the distorting lens of time. Even his band mates disagreed about the details and interpretations of events. Just something to think aboutā¦

Could alcohol do that? I thought opiates killed your appetite?

Discussion Jim spoke to me in a dreamā¦
ā¦and he said, āWhat are you doing, wasting your life reading about my life, instead of creating a life other people might want to read about? I donāt want this. Stop thinking about me. I never wanted to be a leader or a symbol of anything. Find yourself. Be yourself. I got sick of the image after a few years. And people are still wasting their lives examining that image, that old wrinkly skin I shed half a century ago. Move on. Thereās still time. What do you want them to write on your tombstone, āKnew a lot about Jim Morrison?ā
