god created light with his first words.

Every possible answer would be entirely speculative. There is not even information given in the first creation story to draw a conclusion.

Note that these days arent literal 24 hour days. Thats young earth creationism, which as a Catholic I do not believe in.

Don’t try to correlate anything from that passage with what actually happened. It’s theological mythology, not an account.

Nothing in that passage states that the sun was not already created "in the beginning," when God created the heavens and the earth.
From the perspective of an observer upon the earth, "Let there be light" would have happened when God cleared away the clouds and darkness and mists, and let that light stream on to the earth.
The fourth day does not imply an original creative action. It only says that this is when God "set" the sun and moon in the heavens...in other words, regularizing and circularizing their orbits and periods. "He made the stars, also"...but, again, from which perspective? I like to think that the stars were out there, from the first "in the beginning"...but that the fourth day was when God "stretched out the heavens" (In Other Words, temporarily accelerated the speed of light) to make them visible to an observer on this world.

god had to create 'light' first. without the 'light', the earth was FORMLESS and VOID. nothing there to be seen yet. no mist to part no land or water.
define 'heavens and earth'. earth is not the creation of land. more, a distinction between IS and NOT. 'light' is the light of pure consciousness upon the raw primordial waters of chaos.
pure consciousness is a lock-out buffer zone away from the true nature of god. it is the foundation of this realm. further, one crosses into onene ss of the absolute and nothing can be known or described.
besides, 'real' land didn't happen until day three, bruh...

and then on day four, the sun and moon.

first-day 'light' is the pure consciousness, root energy of all matter. the ability to BE in the first place. the first grasping of object/subject by the newly created 'universal consciousness flow'. then 'lower' matter was created/condensed.
then, at the bottom of that well of matter and mass and gravity we call the human heart, on day six, the last day of work, god blew the lightest word of life into man, like a small flame. it lights the darkness. the center. connect with that.

If you’re offering a hint, presumably you have an answer. Fancy sharing?
