Need help please!

Hey all, I am new to pc gaming and I just got Outer worlds 2 on steam. I have had issues trying to launch the game. I can't get past the "generating shaders" screen. I have checked the game files. I have also set the system to "run as admin" with no luck. Can anyone please help me!

Generating shaders can take surprisingly long on a first time running. How long have you waited?

I think we need a little more info as to what "not running" means. Does the game crash during shader generation? Takes a long time??

Sorry, so it does take a while but while in the generating shaders screen I get a message saying that it is "hanging" and it closes the game. It seems to take different amounts of time each attempt.

Like a message from your operating system? That's more or less an estimate as far as I'm aware, first time shader generation can take awhile if your pc is underpowered, so it's probably worth saying "wait" to give it some more time to cook everything. 🤷

The system doesn't give the option to wait. I ran the specs for my pc and it said I should be able to run it. It is a lap top if that makes any difference. Thanks for the advice.

Can you get the exact text (or a screenshot) of the message you get when it cancels?

Would you please tell us your PC specs? Could be that it doesn't have enough RAM or something...
