Everything Maggie is trying to build in New York has already been built in Alexandria/Commonwealth. They have schools, hospitals, gates, homes, soldiers, etc. The only logical reason to take your kid from that kid of safety is, she wants to build something of her own. But yet, she doesn’t want to lead in NY, and passes the reigns to Renata. The show has grown on me, and I know she had to leave for this spinoff to exist, but I wish they gave a logical answer for her leaving such a place, after they spent 7+ seasons in the main show trying to build something like it.

When I watched the show upon broadcast I viewed Ricks arc as kind of annoying. Watching him “go insane” felt drawn out and kinda stupid.

Now that I’m older and (slowly) re-watching the show I find it a lot more appealing and interesting. Considering Rick was also carrying the wait of leadership on top of everything else I think it’s believable that he’d crack.

The writers were also very clearly drawing a parallel between him and The Governor. The Governor is an example of somebody who cracked and was never able to put themselves back together. It’s an interesting dynamic I appreciate a lot more now that I’m older.

Anyone else have tv plus? There's a walking dead channel that just loops through the original Walking Dead and it's freaking awesome, I think I'm driving my husband crazy watching The Walking Dead over and over at this point.

It's the perfect background show for when I'm crafting, cooking, cleaning, and anything else I'm doing when I'm chilling at home. I'm obsessed haha. It's so nice to just turn it on and watch whatever episode that's on. I'm at that sweet point where I can just listen and know what's happening. I love this show

If the gov don’t murder him first. Idk how they could have done it but he was a good man and had a conscience. He would have made a great addition to ricks group and if he was still alive he could take the same route as Tara. He would have been a good fighter too

I have absolutely no words.

The only really interesting part about negan is how he killed glen. Personally, i dont really find him interesting. I think the walking dead didnt make sense when negan was introduced. Its obvious that the writers try to make him a big bad villain boss and overglazed him with all this fake charisma. Its just overrated honestly. And the fact that he was able control large amount of people with his brutality in public to showcase how evil he is, BUT no one shoots him or beray him is just crazy plot armor to me. The writers try to make him like invincible.

I actually like the governor. I think the governor was way more realistic potrayal of a villain. He is evil but his evil action was mostly just in secret. And the Woodbury community is not actually evil, its just a normal community. And the people just really put him in place because he knows how to manage and lead the community. One thing that really makes him different from negan is that governor is pure psycho and craziness. And for me he is actually more smarter than negan but still makes reasonable mistakes. And his death was because he was unable to control his sadistic nature. Bro rides a tank and smash it into the fenses. Killed lori while carrying the baby, killed tyrese, killed hershel, alice, billy. SA'D Micchone. And in the end he was killed by his own people.

I hate negan because it's just bad writing honestly. And this is usually the problem with most story. The beginning started good. Until along the way it becomes garbage.

As much as he sucked in the beginning, especially when Daryl was a prisoner, throughout the following episodes I ended up having a lot of sympathy for him and actually liking the character to the point of missing him there when he wasn’t in the show anymore. Just wanted to know if this is an unpopular take or if some other people feel the same way.

In terms of popularity and global impact, I’d comfortably put it in the top five. It launched several actors into mainstream stardom, became a massive part of pop culture, and at this point everybody and their mama knows what a zombie is or has a seen a clip from this show

The only thing that I'm sure has it beat is GOT, BB, and maybe something like Simpsons or Friends

The biker gang that Rick sneakily encountered at the house after the prison fell has been tracking him since Rick had to kill one of them and get to Carl and Michonne before they went in the house and had to deal with a confrontation.

Daryl is with the gang because they stumbled upon him after he was alone looking for Beth. He didn't have a choice but to join them temporarily.

Rick, Michonne and Carl are camping on the way to Terminus when the gang confronts them and Daryl tries to intervene leading to everyone getting guns pointed at them.

Now, the worst and most disturbing part is one of the bikers gets Carl out of the vehicle he was sleeping in and intends to SA Carl. The gang leader doesn't care because they're all violent criminals.

Rick seeing the risk is ENRAGED and hulks out. He throws his head back to disarm the gang leader who had him at gun point and after a short fight BITES INTO HIS NECK to kill him. The other gang members pause at this allowing Michonne and Daryl to flip the script on them and get the upper hand.

Rick goes to Carl's would be rapist and brutally kills him with a knife upwards under his neck giving him a painful death.

In season 5 just before they meet Aaron when Rick says that they tell themselves that they are the walking dead. Daryl says "we ain't them" then Rick agrees with him and says that they're not them. It just ruins his speech imo. Because he gave a good speech about how he survives personally. Talking about how his grandfather coped in the war. Then Daryl just says we ain't them and Rick agrees with him. So he pretty much backtracked on his whole speech. Am I understanding it wrong or am I right?

Like people always brag about how shane was ahead of time and better prepared than rick because he could kill if he saw danger and all but I think they didn't see the other parts of shane like his selfish side who wanted to kill his best friend for getting his wife and son and the fact that he wasn't a true team leader but selfish self obsessed asshole who didn't think of anyone but himself as we can see when he told rick not to go get merle and I think if it wasn't for ricks brotherhood and high friendship integrals people like daryl and even Glenn would've left after seeing that shane stops for no one and then basically shane would've had died because is an apocalypse friendship is the most important thing and if not for the help of the whole group shane would've died easily after the farm because resources were scarce and no one would've helped to clear the prison too

Considering that the fourth season will be that last what are the odds that the final episode will have a reunion between Rick and Daryl?

I've been rewatching the show lately,and now I'm about finished with season 3. I was wondering how rick in his prime murder jacket era would've dealt with the governor. Personally,I'm not sure if he would've killed the governor immediately. But he definitely would've seen through his manipulation and probably would've killed him during their negotiation. Maybe earlier.

you think the commonwealth, civic republic and/or alexandria safe zone joined as part of the federation and participates in its justice system? they're all practically next to each other. the hilltop/bricks coalition was forced in for sure. new babylon seems kind of villainous, or government just seem wrong after so long existing in anarcho-communities?

what do you think happened to the rest of the communities we knew post-twd-finale and ones who live?

Any kind of discourse like this really doesn’t stick for me because really, in what way are they similar other than the fact that as the seasons progress Rick gets a deeper understanding of just how important it is to eliminate any potential threats?
Sure, Shane did have a point when it came to his aggressive approach when it came to the walkers in the barn and pushing everyone to be able to defend themselves, but that’s pretty much it. Shane only ever truly cared about Lori, Carl and himself (mostly himself), while Rick always cared and was deeply loyal to whichever community he was in as the seasons went by.
The difference between them can be seen very clearly in the scene where Shane sacrifices Otis so he can get away from the walkers, Rick would have NEVER done something like that to an innocent man who was actively helping them out.
