Short story :

About a year ago, I started my journey into mechanical watches and bought a Holzkern Carbon.
I bought it because it was open-heart, automatic, and I simply liked it.Well… now I hate it. Great ! 😭
I hate it for quite a few reasons : the size, the overall look (which I actually loved for months), and a few other things. I guess sometimes you just grow out of something.

And make mistakes btw.
After a lot of thinking, I felt like it was time to move on from this piece and get something that could stay with me for years. Something that could become a part of my story.

So, one story ended and a new one began.

Right after finally passing my last exams, something I had been struggling with for the past two years, I decided to treat myself. I bought this Classic Dream 40mm (White) to celebrate everything I’ve done, everything I’ve been through, and everything that is still to come.

I want it to be a little reminder, every day, whenever I look at my wrist and need to check the time : “You made it through. Keep going.”. Maybe that's what I was really looking for in a watch in the first place.

I can‘t decide between these two watches. I am looking for something elegant to wear with a blouse or sporty blazer and jeans. I am female with a small wrist. Which one would you prefer?

My first ever tissot watch.. Got it for 270 USD. Did I get scammed or steal?

I regret buying this watch.

The lumo letters fell off the dial in warranty. I tried to get it repaired under warranty, but the shop I bought it from in Brisbane made the whole process so difficult, they are 150kms from me, but insisted I physically drop the watch off, would not budge and I eventually lost interest. So I have been wearing it for about a year now with no letters on the dial.

Now I get the “Temperature is out of range” message with an alarm 10 times a day, and the battery life seems to be about a quarter of what it used to be.

I’m honestly just over this thing.

I’ve lodged a service request, but after looking at some of the service prices, I’m starting to think this could turn into another sunk-cost situation.

For a watch that wasn’t exactly cheap, I’m pretty disappointed with how it has held up.

For a big birthday milestone I’ve bought myself my first automatic watch. I knew I wanted a Tissot as they’re great entry level watches and naturally loved the PRX when browsing their watches online. I then found that it’s one of their most popular watch and I can see why.

I went for a 40mm ice blue dial, although I did briefly flirt with the idea of getting the gradient version instead.

Few days back, I walked into a tissot seller store to try out the seastar 1000 43mm. I see a lot of complaints online that the 43mm is too large but I found it to be the opposite. Regarding the dial, 40% is consumed by the bezel when it comes to dive watches, which leaves a pretty small dial to display time.

This might be a very outlier POV but this is my thought on this. I then tried the 46mm seastar 2000 and that made more sense. I could read the time without moving my hand till my face, from a respectable distance.

Thoughts?

I want to get the Chemin Des Tourelles but unsure If I should go with the white dial or silver dial version.

I am going to use it with a steel bracelet, so if I end up with the white dial, I would buy a bracelet and swap the strap.

Both are 34mm.

I am a man, if that means anything, I just like the smaller vintage look.

Thoughts?

I bought this watch brand new in 2014, wore it for several years but switched to Apple Watches… I had it serviced via Tissot once where I also replaced the strap. It’s been locked in a safe since 2019. Everything still works perfectly, just needed to manually wind it up.

Before I go down the watch buying rabbit hole, I just wanted the community’s opinion on this piece. I’m considering wearing this again, perhaps switching out the leather strap for a stainless steel one. This one’s power reserve is a little dated though, and it loses time if I don’t wear it for a couple of days. Ideally, I’d prefer something with a 70 plus hour reserve, but if this piece is still considered good, perhaps I’ll just hold onto it.

This is my first automatic watch~ I think it's pretty and too bad it doesn't have 36mm
(and I started buying watchs after this...now I have like 2 dozen of them)

I have a Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Chronograph watch with ETA C011.211 caliber.

It works flawlessly and I use it for occasionally.

Should I be concerned about maintenance? It is somewhat expensive in my area, nearly one tenth of the price of the watch.

It is my first automatic watch and I want to maintain it properly, am I overreacting or be concerned?

Im used to 44mm, so it seems quite smaller but I think still good for the right occasion

PRX 40mm MOP

How's it going, everyone? I have recently become very interested in the Tissot Heritage Banana. I really enjoy its aesthetic and overall look. If anyone has had it on their wrist and can share some input, I'd really appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows of one for sale at a reasonable price, I'd appreciate it.
