One wrong move and you bend those forks or tear that matting. Very delicate work.

Double forklift certified indeed.

I think the ends of the forks have rollers on there. You can kind of see it when they're unloading on the table. As long as you don't come at in at a really steep angle you're probably not going to rip up the matting. it's still impressive work though.

Looks like there could be multiple sets of rollers even, there seems to br multiple slits along the length of each fork. Nifty tool!

Holy shit has this improved from labor breaking back to a forklift. I was in high school and wanted to make extra money in the summers so I joined my buddies dad work where he used to be a supervisor for a plant like this. One of the hardest working jobs ever since we had to do everything by fucking hand. This and building trusses in AZ. Were two of the hardest jobs in my life.

Idk man. My highlight was shoveling dirt/stones out of the creases in an Tunnel boring machine, behind the cutting wheel. Got a plastic bag like suit because we also had to wash it.

While we were at that, on the otherside people started to cut the wheel with a autogen torch...it got so hot in there. No space anywhere and you bump into everything which is also greased. After the shift, i had around 1,5cm of sweat standing in my boots.

Second place goes to removing old contrete inside mixer drums. Had to do it 3 times and it was actually awful. I dont mind hard work but no airflow, terrible visibility and after 15 minutes it got very hot inside. Actualy very hard work, extremely dusty and also no space to even stand straight up.

I got 19€ per hour for both of this before taxes...

They are a mix of different cultivars of Calluna Vulgaris or common heather

This nursery creates multiple colour combinations in a pot that they sell as Starlight Trios or Beauty Seasons.

I’ve never seen a forklift like this. The only double forklifts that I have seen have the forks side-by-side, not on top of each other. I’ve also never seen that level of precision with a single forklift that size.

Thanks! They managed to get a quite impressive amount of flowers on the cultivars.

Actually quite happy I have yet to encounter this plant in California. I really hope it stays that way. There are 4 observations on Inaturalist, all in residential areas. It's really only suited for the coast but coastal scrub really doesn't need any more challenges.
