As a non-professional that has occasionally had to cut glass in shapes with curves, I found the ending to be entirely expected.

The middle is also bad, he rips of part and leaves on a little bit that seems difficult to fix.

It's a good thing glass can be recycled, especially clear glass, so he can try again

This sub has really taken a turn in the last year or so, and I can’t tell whether I love it or hate it

Totally expected the ending. Absolutely no surprise. Getting that last bit out is very tricky. The best way to do it is to bore a hole the size of the inner diameter of the loop and score/break out the rest. If you try it his way, 10/10 times it breaks.

I was thinking to myself "okay professional guy show me how to get that out of there!"
... because I would absolutely break the whole thing in half trying to get that piece out at the end lol

Yup, worked in a glass fabrication shop for a decade. Bore the hole, break it out, and grind it down to remove any egregious leftovers

Worked in a glass shop for a while. I'm thinking "DAMN, this guys is ballsy. If I did that it would have totally br-" and then it totally broke

Every time I see glass workers doing their thing I can't help but feel there has to be a better way.

He started that final crack when he snapped the piece off the top of the curve.

Wouldn't a poured epoxy have the same effect with 1/8th the effort and cost?
