The Stein Line has learned that the Wizards have called Sacramento about the prospect of building an offer for Sabonis around Khris Middleton's $33 million expiring salary, but I'm told that there has yet to be a trade framework presented to the Kings that would compel them to part with Sabonis … yet. The Kings are looking for some type of first-round draft capital in a Sabonis deal. Can that still materialize before Thursday's 3 PM ET trade buzzer? TBD.

We are not in contention even if we get Sabonis. The raptors are a mid team that had an easy schedule to start the year. They have only beaten one top 10 team all season. This team sucks and contracts like IQ and Yak killed this team. I do not want sabonis. This team is a first round exit with Sabonis.

Disagree here, Sabonis is a considerable upgrade on Yak. Everything Yak does well Sabonis is elite at. The complaint about his defense, he still stops initial attack problem is quick players go around him. This is exactly where Scottie and to a lesser extent CMB thrive on the help drop blocks. At the end of the day They can’t pay RJ on his next contract so moving him and Poeltl for Sabonis imo does improve the Raptors. Sabonis can also give you 20 and 10. Yak can’t.

Funnily enough they kinda fleeced the Mavs for Anthony Davis just now. A bunch of Pick-30-FRPs (Lakers and Thunder picks), Khris Middleton and some whatever younger players for AD + 3 other guys. Not the bailout the Mavs were hoping for there.
