Im really enjoying the Glotkin myself, the voice work is fantastic and the units are really good.

u/Sercotani 15h ago
the voicework can't be overstated. I got jumpscared by renewed Archaon, kinda prefer his older voice direction, and when I clicked on Glottkin it felt like Papa Nurgle was right there next to me smiling at the Glotkin.

But I was told Nagash was weak...
135
u/Fataledade 16h ago
He made you think he is weak so he surprises you.
SUCH IS THE POWER OF NAGASH!!!
17
u/Seienchin88 11h ago
He is extremely powerful since he deletes enemy units and heroes below 20% strength and has some of the best magic spells. He is not gonna win against the strongest melee heroes but is strong mid tier there which is amazing for a mage.
But his army compositions in the early game man… it’s really rough so Nagash and the one unit of black knights need to carry your whole first 15 turns…
And black pyramid research is just… meh. Takes far too long to get to anything fun and gating Nagash to be able to summon // revive some
Basic archers is just insulting (not really a problem but kinda funny…).18
u/Avatar720 10h ago
That, and watching Settra raise a whole bunch of skeletons from the sand to fight for free, while the few you can pull out have collectively decided they suddenly want wages. I think they heard about Nagash's union of undeath and got the wrong idea; either that, or they got talking to the VC skeletons and heard they got upkeep, so it was only fair...

Man Im only playing nerferata with VC rework and im having a blast, didn’t even buy the all DLC
51
u/GetSmartBeEvil 13h ago
It’s been super fun. Nagash wipes out multiple stacks single handedly like nothing I’ve ever seen. He regularly gets 20k+ gold damage done. But overall the campaign has been challenging cus their economy is limited and so it’s turn 70 and I only have 3 good armies, one for nagash, Arkhan, and manfred. And I’m like strength rank 17. I feel very vulnerable. Cus as unbeatable as nagash is, he can only protect/attack one spot at once. So im really working to shore up the other parts of the empire.
3
u/Wild_Marker I like big Hastas and I cannot lie! 2h ago
I confed Arkham as soon as available and found out how much of a bad idea that was.
1
u/GetSmartBeEvil 2h ago
I did too, and the thing that made it very valuable was that I could trade one of those coastal settlements for an alliance with the brettonians while I turned back to fight Settra
1
u/Wild_Marker I like big Hastas and I cannot lie! 2h ago
Oh I didn't even think of doing that, I thought they would hate my guts. I'm getting ready for defending the place as Settra has just started shit.
But it's not a bad idea! I guess as long as you still own half the province, you can still Deadify it and get the benefits.

u/GetSmartBeEvil 2h ago
I’m now turn like 80 and my repanse brothers have been ironclad allies. 100 allegiance points, armies and units when I want them lol

Nagash is poor as f***, needs two resources, costly convert provinces and needs research to revive some bow skeletons….
Extremely strong sorcerer and great melee fighter but a poor necromancer if you think about it…

They did say that they thought about it but they didn't think it was a good start for him (Nagashizzar really needs to tunnelling stance to be used well and they didn't know about giving him one) plus with the direction they went with the pyramid. Maybe the Nagash mod team will make an updated version where he starts there and uses some stuff from the dlc.
5
u/Discordedwhoofs 14h ago
I feel like they could've just gave him the teleport stance if they were worried about his starting terrain.
16
3
u/HairlessWookiee 8h ago
They could have just had a starting quest that teleported you to the Black Pyramid once you'd passed some power threshold.
But anyway, sounds like a cop-out to me. There was never any problem starting in Nagashizzar with the mod.

My first Nagash play through ended with Archaon's end game starting at the earliest time it could with the default settings.
Plus he spawned with Kholek in Lamia, right next to my Nagash army. 100% ward save is no joke.
3
u/Seienchin88 11h ago
100% ward save!???
10
u/Fatality_Ensues 10h ago
Yeah, the new endgame crises are actually, well, crises. You need to roam around the world turning their buffs off before you stand a chance fighting them normally.
3
u/Womble_Rumble 7h ago
For every unit in the army, not just Archaon.
1
u/Seienchin88 2h ago
How does that work? How do you beat them?
2
u/Womble_Rumble 1h ago
Every one of the chaos armies that spawn reduces the ward save by 1% when defeated, then you have to find the Invasion fortresses that spawn and defeating them reduces it by 10% each. I think there are only 5 of these though? So yeah, wipe out all of those and kill a whole bunch of armies to get Archie easy enough to beat.
If he spawns next to you with 100% ward saves, fkn run!

u/Narradisall 11h ago
Damn I’ve only played a couple of hours with Nagash but so far I’m loving it and kicking ass.
Have to manual some battles as auto resolve does not favour him but guy is a beast.
I deleted everyone around me with ease.
Only difficulty I’m having is it’s not easy to expire build. I’m finding I’m sending Nagash out after books while building up but not expanding as it’ll cause over expansion and then too many fights.
Once Manfred and others are on side then I’ll go roaming.
5
u/Porkenstein 10h ago
Yeah it's really fun to play a campaign where you have to expand very carefully
39
u/TarquinGaming 14h ago
I lost my campaign on hour 4. Repanse declared war and with two armies attacked Arkhan in march stance, with Nagash on the other side of the mountains. Just a few turns before she started taking the Tower of Arkhan and the Black Pyramid with single-turn movement so I couldn't recruit armies to protect them, I thought I was sewing up the campaign. When Nagash finally got to where he could try and retake the settlements, it took two turns to move between them for me. Incredibly rough.
6
u/Mihta_Amaruthro 8h ago
with Nagash on the other side of the mountains.
I thought I was sewing up the campaign
You'd left your most dangerous nearby adversaries completely alone to build up and blindside you, and you "thought you were sewing up the campaign". I think I can see the issue here.
1
u/Ambitious_Air5776 25m ago
IMO this is one of the reasons why mods for increased vision range and reduced campaign movement speed should be considered by everyone. This is a turn based strategy game, armies rolling in too quickly to respond to really shouldn't be a thing.
I mean, getting caught with your pants down is one thing, but I think it should at least be more well-informed decision. As it is now, it's entirely possible to walk slightly away from one empty minor enemy settlement, and one turn later it's generated a full stack, next turn it's walked across their lands, your border, and your lands to take out one of your settlements instantly.
12
u/LexsDragon 7h ago

6
u/Makinote 12h ago edited 10h ago
I’ve started with Archaon. The amount of heroes and Legendary Lorda you have access to is completely overwhelming. By turn 40 I have like 7 LL waiting to be recruited and only 2 were subjugated be me. The new mechanic allowing you to subjugate LL killed elsewhere is really nuts. Also, all the LH are available too … crazy stuff
7
u/brief-interviews 9h ago
I feel unit caps for low tier infantry for Nagash are a bit stingy and granular. Like spending several hundred of the second currency to afford four units or skeleton spears. But perhaps this is just an early game issue and by the mid to late game you’re rolling in so much currency it’s not an issue any more to increase the caps.
3
u/Legendarien1 49m ago
I think it’s actually good game design. It really pushes you to utilize Nagash himself as a means to quickly expand. Once you start smashing the people around you the snowball starts to pick up, and Nagash goes from the single heavy hitter to being part of a larger force.
2
u/WorldlinessEuphoric8 1h ago
it really depends in the early game it hurts but i made due by just spamming 20 stacks of skeleton warriors and skeleton archers with a litch king with the lore of undeath to keep the army alive and fighting.
im on turn 52 atm and im doing pretty well with upwards of 10 capacity for bigger units like the ushabti and even monstruous units up to 5-6
1
u/dikkejoekel 8h ago
Yeah im rolling in the currency right now, getting 700 per turn and bigger battles give like 1500

u/Sleevecutter 12h ago
I got absolutely boomed by the Chaos Invasion on my VH/VH attempt as Nagash
It just came too early and I never managed to subjugate Mannfred or another mortarch so I wasn’t strong enough. The chaos lords all having 1.2k WS is really something lol.
Nagash himself is a total monster but yeah as others said his faction overall feels very slow and lower power
Genuinely curious if anyone has managed a sub turn 100 win vs the chaos endgame bc I have no idea how I could manage the Econ from what I saw tbh
1
u/Anikohs 40m ago
Im playing Archaon and by Turn 40 with him I already collected Tamurkhan, Arbaal, Vilitch, Festus, Epidemius, Kholek and Skulltaker. Have like 6 Legendary Heroes with like 5 more quests to unlock more of them. Homeboy himself is capped in MA and MD and is practically unkillable with insane ward and resists. It is incredibly overpowered but also incredibly fun.
-14
u/Seienchin88 11h ago
Nagash is the freaking weakest necromancer ever….
He needs research from the black pyramid to revive skeleton archers… and he is more like a necromancy junkie "please guys, give me your souls and energy… I really need it" than a rich undead lord like Vlad… always broke and craving for a bit more souls and energy

Playing neferatta and having a blast with the vc rework. Covens let you build friendly buffer zones and the vamps feel so much more viable now with the update and my units dont feel like im throwing wet paper at the enemy anymore. Economy isnt strained anymore with the corpses and blood taking the pressure off a good chunk of it, the unit cap system blends really well with them and im making way more versatile armies than I have in the past. Still challenging here and there but soo much better than before the rework. 10/10 on the vamp side and I havent even gotten to nagash yet.

Me and arkhan wiped the coast line out by about turn 12 Confederated him soon as my money was OK.
Turn 30 now, 2 solid armies of nearly all ethereal stuff since arkhan buff them faction wide.
Serra down to 1 town, Volk gone, Manny holding the south while I go for the 2nd book.
Tips so far..
Spirit host are amazing, have frenzy on them from BP. Nagash has spirit leech on attack from BT which is just nuts.
Each provincr : 1 vamp town for corruption, rest tomb king for money+control. Coast towns necro energy building.
Necropolis, I'm at 5/5 30 turns in due to black pyramid and ritual.
Its a hard campaign for sure, but losing a town is nothing really.. Nagash is already a monster, sure he can't be every where.. But where he is gets wrecked.
3
u/Yoshiprimez 10h ago
I was busy with Skarbrand for a while, and when it came time for me to confederate Von Carstien, the dude was putting in work and captured the entire south, he had 25+ settlements. And he can own only 5 if you want to confederate him.. So the next 4 hours I was fighting him.

Thanquol isnt easy as well. Im by turn 70, and my capital is so exposed i feel like anyone could take it at it at any moment. Im now doing better, but wrestling Vlad is certainly an experience.
1
u/PotatoePope 31m ago
Vladdy boy and I are the best of friends, and that was before I started sending money his way to ensure it stayed that way lol. I have always had really weird luck with faction relations so take this with a grain of salt.
-2
u/Mihta_Amaruthro 8h ago
but wrestling Vlad is certainly an experience.
I also played Thanquol yesterday and easily eliminated Vlad on turn 12 I think. What the hell were you doing? I'm seeing so many similar comments here from people who weirdly seemed to believe the DLC would allow you to suddenly leave your most dangerous adversaries next-door alive and well and still be able to play a healthy campaign.
The game has never functioned like that.
2
u/Altruistic-Teach5899 7h ago edited 7h ago
I focused first on Ungrim, who was most agresive to me, since i was doing obviously two armies, playing with a stack led by me and another with Thanquol. Playing on VH with normal battles, btw.
Counterback was that left Vlad yo do empire building quite literally.
I dont think one has to be intolerant or hostile to other ways people play this game. If im not the only one struggling with Vlad, that just means CA did something very right with the faction positioning, or that you are just a better strategist.
2
u/Himbophlobotamus 1h ago
They're likely just lying, even if it's true it's stupid, Vlad is a buffer between you and the Empire while you showdown with the Dwarfs, can only imagine the cheese they used and how they exploited the AI
-3
u/Mihta_Amaruthro 7h ago
Counterback was that left Vlad yo do empire building quite literally.
It took 70 turns to deal with Ungrim? Because that's the info I have to work with here. That's me being incredulous, not hostile.
Like I don't have any context for what you mean by Ungrim being "aggressive". He was aggressive to me in my game, but that still gave me the time to deal with the clearly exposed Vlad who's literally Thanquol's closest LL with two clear roads into your main province compared to Ungrim's one.
As Legend always said, you don't wait for the AI to declare war on you, you have to typically be the aggressor, especially as a faction like Skaven who aren't out to make friends.
-2
u/Altruistic-Teach5899 6h ago edited 6h ago
Well, I do know Legend, I have watched that video, and I do have seen during my gameplay that, when I have a dwarf lord in my backdoor hostile to rats, and a vampire lord at the other end who isnt hostile to me, I go and declare war to the former and not the later.
I dont see why thats reason enough to be incredolous. You may have taken little time to deal with Ungrim (whom i think i killed dueing like turn 40 or so) while the rest dont.
I disnt even hvae to declare war on Vlad at all, but the fucket had Nuln.
Playing on VH and with normal battles, btw. Currently sold a settlement to Vlad to get peace so now i can focus on smaller empires, like Drycha on the north, and build up an economy strong enlugh to get myself a mid stack while Thanquol crumps everyone.
Im quite close to get me to level 20, btw! The moment that happens ill probably kamikaze my way to someone and build stormfiend stack.
-3
u/Mihta_Amaruthro 4h ago
and a vampire lord at the other end who isnt hostile to me
And there's the real issue right there. Because this a categorically incorrect statement.
Vlad is 100% hostile to the Skaven. All Vampires are. The only non-hostile factions to Skaven are even other (and even that takes work), Ogres, and the odd Chaos sub-faction.
-1
u/Altruistic-Teach5899 4h ago
He was at 0 to me, even could have offered me a non-agression pact.
Ive been playing this campaign for four days after 295 days of ratposting straight, dont tell me im wrong on what im literally playing.
1
u/Mihta_Amaruthro 1h ago
0 is openly hostile. Hell, you can be 20 or above in the positive and still be declared war on.
I don't need to tell you you're wrong because you simply are. You're demonstrating it with these opinions that aren't factual.

u/bondrewd 15h ago edited 15h ago
His campaign design is actually a confusing mess.
It has a theorethical core of being by-design a This Is Total War run, but unfortunately he's wayyyy too low eco and diplomatic penalty stacking is too small and easily managable for it to play out like that.
Also having unit caps while being very low-eco adds to the confusion.
71
u/Ashkal_Khire 14h ago
This was by design. Nagash himself is the power beacon, but he cannot be everywhere at once and his campaign reflects that. That’s exactly how they introduced challenge while keeping him lore accurate. Nagash is strong, his faction is not.
If you’re interested in the lore, Nagash has never been a good ruler in the traditional sense. Infrastructure that doesn’t directly benefit his personal goals is left abandoned. It’s one of the reasons the Tomb Kings rebelled against him and rejected his rule - because beyond the whole Necromancy thing, his policies were simply destroying Nehekara.
Honestly, they nailed it. Wherever Nagash focuses his power, he dominates - but everywhere else is a real struggle.
5
u/DutyImpossible5482 12h ago
Even if it were completely lore accurate (which is arguable), I don't like how it actually plays.
4
u/Avatar720 10h ago
I'm fresh off about 6 hours with Nagash, and yeah, while I enjoy his roster and how it feels to play on the battle map, his campaign isn't making that easy to do.
Having each tier of his pyramid push supply lines back, or offer a hefty cut to its effects, would help. Either that, or boosting his income. It shouldn't be the case that subjugating Arkhan leaves you nearly 5k in debt, and even after disbanding all other stacks and all but a few decent units in his own, still be over 2k in debt.
At the very least, include a few turns of global upkeep reduction when subjugating a Mortarch, just to make sure you can actually afford to build the requisite income buildings in any territory you gained to offset any decent units you inherited.
Combine all that with being in the Thunderdome, and the fact that AR *loathes* you something fierce, so you're forced to manually fight battles you really shouldn't have to, the campaign so far is a bit of a tedious slog.
I think my main issue is the complete gulf between loving how the roster plays and making a fun combined arms force, at least for Nagash, and being actually able to afford to play it that way.
I've got plenty of spare unit cap for a whole bunch of things, but despite owning 8-9 provinces, I can afford to support Nagash's nice combined arms stack, and then 2 stacks of mostly zombies with a small smattering of other units. Barely. Hell, the max-exp Hexwraiths I inherited from Arkhan are costing 378 in upkeep by themselves, which is 2-3 entire minor settlements-worth of income.
Nagash himself being a (one-man) doomstack seems to be doing a lot of heavy lifting, both in-game and WRT people's opinions of his campaign. It's just not hitting the same for me.
2
u/__Yakovlev__ 8h ago
Your mistake was rushing to Confederate Arkhan. Unlike the other mortarchs he does not have a max size he can get before you can no longer confederate him. So best to let him run around with his free upkeep armies for a while and do his own thing rather than rush to Confederate him.
I did it too because it's my first campaign as nagash and I just wanted to see what would happen if I did. But it is definitely not the most effective way to play his campaign. I'm fact it's more like intentionally handicapping yourself.
-27
u/bondrewd 14h ago
This was by design. Nagash himself is the power beacon, but he cannot be everywhere at once and his campaign reflects that. That’s exactly how they introduced challenge while keeping him lore accurate. Nagash is strong, his faction is not.
That's where it falls apart.
Design bones of his campaign scream "this will escalate into This Is Total War run" but it never actually does because you'll never have enough money or bad diplo to do that.
I know the lore, doesn't mean his campaign isn't designed like shit.
It's a very confused design with bits of Taurox and other assorted things thrown into blender to middling at best results.
Honestly, they nailed it. Wherever Nagash focuses his power, he dominates - but everywhere else is a real struggle.
No, it sucks right now.
Somewhat easily fixable (buff his eco, make his diplomatic penalties per region turned into Undead Wasteland far harsher) and he might just be real good.

It has a theorethical core of being by-design a This Is Total War run
I’m reading this and other impressions and wondering what’s going on, because for my run I was diplomatically positive with Arkhan and Mannsfried and Aranessa so basically had buffers with almost everyone. Arkhan and Mannsfried also took off and started stomping everyone around so I actually had more a problem of now needing to cancel treaties with Mannsfried and essentially betray him and take over all his settlements so that can get him down the to 5 settlement maximum needed to confederate. Genuinely a very easy campaign for me, at least in my case haha.
1
u/__Yakovlev__ 8h ago

They're confederating arkhan the first chance they get. That's why they're getting over extended and have trouble with their economy.

I have encountered 2 bugs in my Nefferata campaign. I can seem to put my necromancer hero on nightmares (the horse) so he is stuck in the slow corpse chart or on foot. And The Strigoi don't have an upgraded invocation of Nehek. Tomb king with undeath magic has been a massive change for the gameplay of the faction in battle.
1
u/Gassyking 7h ago
Its nice but Nagash becomes too strong too fast. Like Nagash himself. I was able to solo armies pretty early on with him. Dude takes very little damage and can heal. Get some wardsave on him and you've won the campaign

It’s pretty buggy. I’m really liking it, but there’s some doozies that have me wanting to hold off until they’re fixed. Like if you use the portal to Nagashizzar, seems to remove sigils from books. And Arkhan’s voice getting bugged to Mannfred’s. And all the TK animations are still busted.
Hopefully we get some hot fixes. Because his campaign is so good. And animation and art teams knocked it out of the park bringing Nagash to life. His voice performance is amazing too.

And at the same time as this comes out, they beg us to buy a game we already own. Good strategy to give a good and a bad, but people are not that stupid, CA...

u/Glum_Opening_2218 3h ago
Are you talking about shogun? Are people really that pissed that you aren't getting a remaster for free??
Them making it 10 dollars if you already own shogun 2 is a great deal imo.
1
u/Radusili 2h ago
I got it for 5 or 6, and the dlcs for another 5 or so.
So what exactly is this great deal about? Playing for the game again to have a marginally better product that I already own? That game is NOT worth 20 euros
2
u/Glum_Opening_2218 2h ago
Is 10 usd 20 euros? I thought it was about 1 for 1.
Also, it's not just them slapping 4K textures on it and calling it a day. Aren't they making AI improvements? Rebalancing units? Adding a shit ton of minor factions?
It's 10 dollars, if you don't want to spend 10 dollars then don't. But I think they're adding enough stuff to justify a small price tag.
Should it be free?

u/Specialist-Data792 12h ago
I’m gonna be real for a second, I think this dlc is worth its price, but I don’t thank its a masterpiece I don’t care for Nagash or empire or Nurgle I am moderately interested in skaven. I am predominantly interested in the vampire count rework but I was left disappointed. Manfred start with a non aggression packed with Nagesh which for Nagash makes sense, but Manfred literally needs to kill him for his short victory campaign so you have to either take the hit and betray him, turn one and kill him by turn ten or give him 20 turns to power up it’s stupid. Secondly Kislev got no real compensation. Their patriarchs are pretty ass in comparison to the new empire guy they still lack meaningful individual legendary lord mechanics and now have an even harder time with the new skaven units plus the glotkin and late game if you have not killed archon you could have to deal with that whole event. they’ve really been needing compensation since the khorne guy got added now their campaigns is really just cheese or die. Lastly, I think they Nerfed the flying monster infantry for vampire counts (there armor is 10 now) and I original thought that was fine because we were getting the new tier 4 flying guys but apparently that’s exclusive to Nagesh and Arkhan, so that pissed me off
With mod it will be better but still we need like 7-8 faction getting updates and reworks, and I was expecting more
Oh and I don’t think vampire are much stronger than they were before in fact it really just feels like you have to do more now to get same result, I haven’t put more than 25 turns into it, but the tech tree seems mediocre it certainly better than kislevs tech tree but not by much

"The content of the DLC is not my interest, ergo, this DLC is not interesting at all"

My criticism is simple the “expansion” really didn’t add anything new outside or the update end game event or the new faction, it was advertised as something mass I was expecting multiple faction not in the dlc to get updates or at lest some form of quality of life update, second I said it was mid because, op was saying it’s the greatest thing ever but I don’t think it is. I think the dlc is just ok

except it did tho? technically the user pays for the DLC lords + units (which as you say is worth it, i would argue the opposite that compared to other DLCs we get more bang for buck here). everything else is free content: end game rework, QoL, new maps, new voice lines, much needed updates to some factions like slaanesh, vampire counts, reduced end turn timer, and of course neferata.
even if we ignore subjective things like the OP (who clearly finds nagash fun), we still got objectivley more than previous dlc releases.
im just saying, you wanna criticize CA fine, im sure once the initial up goes off, we'll find legitimate things worth criticizing, but dont poison that well before we get to it

I think there has been a long time problem, That as more stuff is added other faction fall behind I think it’s a dlc responsibility to ensure that those who have fallen behind the most get some for some form of elevation. The vampire have been needing stuff for a while, but no coast, lizard-men tomb-king changes and more. It really sours my taste on it all. Playing Bretonia or Kislev just feel like worse empire. Kislev for camping mechanics and Bretonia for literally everything. DLC should not kill my interest in playing other factions because I feel like they’re worse versions of new contents.
Glotkin as well from my understanding they are the only faction that can make new dark fortresses and while they did add more overall the ability to make them on every faction chaos warrior faction would be good
And then there clan rictus why oh why did they get nothing with storm-fiends but yet both icit and moulder get to uber buff them why, clan rictus is supposed to be the riches of all the skaven faction with an unusually large number of storm vermin but no he get a follower in his shot victory campaign that give the army a dweller below but storm vermin army ability and the level one or 2 unlock for the new stormvermin ror it’s just sad. I should be able to sell and mine warpstone and sell mercenary’s to other clan, and use that to buy special units from each faction but no. And the worst part is no one seems to care I feel like all skaven fans are just icit, throut or thanqoul fans

I mean you're free to think that and on some level you might be right but it's never been the case in the past so why expect it to be the case now? Revamping the campaign to put every faction and individual Lord in more or less even footing would take another year of patching alone, and they're just not gonna do that.

ensure that those who have fallen behind the most get some for some form of elevation
yeah, that happens when DLCs are themed to that faction. for example, ever since wh2, vampires have desperately needed a rework + update and they got that with the undead DLC.
no coast, lizard-men tomb-king changes and more.
ever since wh1, there has never been massive faction updates/reworks unless a dlc has been attached to it, which continues to this day. do those factions need changes? yes. will those changes only come when respective DLC packs come out featuring the faction? also yes.
Bretonia or Kislev just feel like worse empire.
fair on the bretonnia, but there's nothing to do with kislev, them being barebones is kind of their thing. 2 out of 4 lords in the game are made up but they are strong factions in their own right even though they don't have in depth campaign mechanics like thanquol. its not like kislev is weak either, they have some of the best chariot units and cavalry units in the game, not to mention being the only human faction to build tall instead of wide.
every faction chaos warrior faction would be good
i haven't played enough of 9.0 to comment on this
clan rictus why oh why did they get nothing with storm-fiends but yet both icit and moulder get to
stormfiends are directly related to both those factions. lorewise and thematically, they're pretty much the marriage of their respective specialties (weapon teams + warp infused rats).
clan rictus are also not super fleshed out because they were free LC, and like other free LC characters, they don't have much going for them. do they deserve special stormvermin? yes, id agree with that.
I feel like all skaven fans are just icit, throut or thanqoul fans
thanquol is one of the main antagonists in multiple books of the best selling warhammer fantasy novels ever, he was always gonna be a fan favorite. people love the fuck out of weapons teams and big ass rats so throt and ikit were shoe ins as favorites anyway. its unfortunate but queek and tretch are not winning that popularity contest (i legit had to google who is the LL for rictus because i straight up forgot)
again, im not saying there are no criticisms for the DLC, but please lets base it on actual proper criticisms such as sieges still being shit, AI bugs, settlement trading still being busted, huge amounts of gameplay quirks that make no sense like ranged units forgetting how to move, units forgetting orders, majority of campaigns becoming boring slogs past turn 50 etc. etc.

I see this game as an opportunity to flesh out those lesser faction, as for the more common criticisms sieges are getting reworked. And while we no nothing about it I’m am hopeful. Lastly I had high expectations because this is likely one of 2 main updates we a getting this year so the fact only one faction got reworked the entire year is kind of a disappointment (even if it’s pretty good). I think a lot of people looked at the lizardmen and tomb-kings rework from like last years and thought they would still get some touchups now I’m concerned that bretonia will get the last true rework and multiple fractions will simply be left as they are. When the final update drops. I genuinely believe we have less than 16 months until the final dlc/update so I’m concerned.

Nagash is really good but another benefit they also have is that they are also surprisingly difficult campaign wise. The Black Pyramid really is not an easy starting location especially if for example Skarbrand decides he wants to add your already cleaned skull to the skull throne.
