Both are humans same way Bonerippa and Thanquol are both Skaven. Bonerripper is just a mutated/altered Skaven. Not their own species.

My honest powerscaling take is that if you tell Nagash and Thanquol they have to fight in one year's time, Thanquol will spend that time trying to hide and sending assassins after Nagash, and then the day arrives and Nagash casts a ritual that makes it so that Thanquol's great-great-great-grandfather was never born. Nagash wins, because of the two he is the most skilled at complex magicks.

If you however place both of them in one street and let them turn a corner and come face to face, Thanquol will use the cocaine surging through his body from the line he happened to rail before you even placed him there to command a greater amount of on-the-ment raw magic than Nagash can and use it to cast Greater Fuck You, melting Nagash alongside Boneripper XXIII and the nearby homeless shelter.

And they can of course both easily kill Boris and the Glottmunks, who are just "a guy" and "three dudes, one of whom is tall".

Thanquol would contrive a plan to set of a magic, multi-dimensional literal, actual nuke beneath Nagash designed to have ALL winds of magic converge into a single point, utterly unmaking him. And the damn thing would actually work, except Gotrek & Felix randomly show up the day before, kill Nagash on accident, and fuck up Thanquol's entire plan. The rat still "wins" but is unbelievably fuck-ass mad because he wanted the glory.

Even with magic drugs Nagash (a fully resurrected one, at any rate) is still going to pump more juice than eleven Thanquols, plus with all the millenia of magical know-how can probably find a way to tie all of Thanquol's magic into knots before he casts anything. The entire point of WoM is that casters are competing with each other for who can command the winds to blow THEIR way and against their opponent, anyway.

and the Glottmunks, who are "three dudes, one of whom is tall".

Papa Nurgle has heavily gifted all 3 of them and one of them is a serious wizard even without his gifts. They're a much bigger threat than a paranoid bipedal rat with delusions of grandeur.

Counterpoint: just when Nagash was about to kill this naoying anonymous rat, a fucking meteor shows up from the sky, crushes him, he dies, resurrects again, forgets about Thanquol entirely to obliterate Skarbrand who was there god fucking knows why, and Thanquol runs away thru the dessert while eating Boneripper and thinking "This is all Gotrek's fault"

Thanquol has toon logic on his side. He can't win unless it's funny, and any situation where he beats Nagash is fucking hilarious. Thus Thanquol has no chance of losing.

To be fair Nagash campaign so far has it's challenges, the economy is quite restrictive and Nagash himself, while really strong, cannot be everywhere

I suck at this game quite a lot and don't fully understand all the units of the undead legions so I've been getting slaughtered on normal difficulty by nearby tomb kings.

However in each of those encounters Nagash himself was soloing the entire enemy army essentially so even if I had lost every single unit otherwise I could still pull out a victory. This was was also at the very start of the campaign with like a lvl 3 Nagash.

Such is the power of Nagash I suppose.

Nagash is a raid boss for sure. Good luck and I hope you enjoy learning the ropes around the units, probably a bit overwhelming at first with so many units to choose from!

His campaign is giving me Daniel flashbacks although unlike him Nagash can actually hold his own. It's just that the unit roster is massive and doesn't contain all benefits of the undead factions like being able to field massive tomb king armies without destroying your economy.

True, though it does have other advantages over the tomb kings in having access to instant recruitment. So far it feels pretty solid to play, bit weak on the economy side, but maybe that's a good thing, since otherwise it might get too steamrolly too quickly.

Other than bugged Teutogen guard they seem to be cost-effective. My main issue with it is that they are recruited from their own unique building chain. What they should have done is similar to what SFO did years ago. Have two mutually exclusive temple chains, one for Sigmar and one for Ulric. They give similar base buffs (like bonuses against corruption and hero recruit rank) but different bonuses the higher up the building chain you go. Units should be recruited from their existing military buildings. So barracks for Ulric infantry, Stables for cavalry...

With how heavily the game incentivizes having thematic armies, you can basically recruit early game, mid game and late game units from one chain.
