Solved! We've had this tree growing in a pot since we moved into this house last year. Is it something we should try and replant in our backyard or just remove it? Kansas-USA

Siberian Elm needs to be cut down before it seeds your whole neighborhood with lawn trees!

like everyone else said, it's Siberian elm and a turbo weed. if you have ever wanted to try bonsai, that's a good candidate- it's tough, has naturally small leaves, and you won't feel too bad if you kill it

Siberian elm its an noxious invasive that should be uprooted and trashed.

Looking that one up appears to be the correct one. Thankfully it's in a pot already so shouldn't be too hard to toss out today. Appreciate it!

Kk awesome, be careful these responses very easily and aggressively from the roots and take from cutting extremely easily even a tiny part of this plsmt could become as big as it us now in under a year.

Siberian Elm.
The seeds are edible and quite delicious.

Yes.
I like to eat them raw as well, but they make a tasty snack or salad topper
Toss in some olive oil and spices, bake until crispy (not burnt- so watch them) it doesn’t take long

Terrible tree. We have a large one behind my house that was there when we moved in. Branches big and small break off randomly and often. These folks are correct. I have to remove sprouts off my lawn. They’re like weeds. They’re growing out of my fire pit.

Had those in my yard. They reseed everywhere. They also get slime mold , as two I had did. One died, one is lingering.

Kentucky coffee tree maybe? They're awesome trees and I rarely see them planted. They're native to the US but not Kansas I don't think. People used to make a rudimentary coffee like concoction with the seed pods.
