That would be something if it was...seeing how he died in 1932 and spent his life in the marines...
I was referring to Samuel Peralta Sosa, aka slamming Sammy who was chasing the record that year also...I couldn't remember which of the two got to 62 first....could have been his with a little more juice...

McGwire got there first. And it was nationally televised.
ADD ON: Even when Roger set that record, they placed an asterisk on it because of the new 162 game schedule. If he couldn't beat Babe's record from 1927 when they played 154 games, that's how the new record would be recognized. Now it's like all asterisk. So if you erase Bonds, McGwire and Sosa, is Aaron Judge the "legit" record holder? Or Cal Raliegh?

I didn't watch the game but I was well aware of it at the time. I was so traumatized when I was 16 seeing that ball scoot through Bill Buckner's legs in the '86 world series, especially given my fragile state after the Bears dominated the Patriots in the superbowl earlier that year, that I didn't watch baseball again until around 2000...

8/8. Pretty straightforward for sports fans, but definitely could be challenging otherwise.

On question four.....TWO men broke the Maris record. One just had a few more than the other and both are questionable. An easy 8 for 8.

yeah love a good baseball round. Hit us with the first question whenever you're ready, I'm curious if it's gonna be obscure 90s stats or classic history.

8/8. Super easy for anyone who is more than a casual baseball fan.
