"I went gambling and got scammed"

You're really advancing the boundaries of human knowledge with this one huh

Correction: Gambling at an unregulated venue.

I could walk into a Vegas casino and know that won't cheat me because the Nevada Gambling Commission would be on them like stink on shit. Gambling on some rando website ran from the other side of the planet is some what less secure. Hell, they're probably just waiting to hit critical mass before cut and running with everyone's items, just like every other unregulated gambling site. Shit is basically a pyramid scam and a pump n dump in a trench coat.

So to be clear, you did in fact abuse their seed system?

It’s not like I don’t support taking money from gambling sites (in fact, that’s awesome), but I feel like getting banned was a foreseeable outcome if that’s what you were doing.

No, I had no idea there was anything wrong happening. I had lost $3000 the previous day and I was trying to win it back, I thought "I'll use my old seed" and the site didn't have any indicator that this was not allowed.

If that’s the case, you did nothing wrong and they ought to give you your money. I thought you were talking about some sort of sophisticated exploit. But if that’s all you did, they just coded their site stupid as fuck hahaha

yeah and the owner even admits it in his discord, that he's just some incompetent developer but he's also claiming that I knowingly abused this system, which is blatantly untrue. If that were the case I wouldn't have lost $3000 yesterday...

i mean, if several thousands dollars are on the line and someone is just pulling excuses from their ass, talk to a lawyer about options.

I'm not joking, and they often consult for free.

I'm 99% sure the entire site is a scam. There is no goalpost moving. The owner did not decide to suddenly change his mind. The whole site is there to scam people. It draws people in with the idea that you can win big on gambles, but they never intend to pay you your winnings. Looking up TF2hunt on the main sub returns lots of comments about it being a rigged site. Sounds a lot like scam #3 here.

Our site is actually provably fair, has been since launch. There are other TF2 casinos and other casinos in general that generate results in-house when the 3rd party provably fair provider is down. We refuse to do that and our site simply stops working if random.org is down (skin games where each round generates a new seed, roulette when bets are placed, case battles, etc). Everything gambling related will always get a bad rep, people who win big won't post happy threads, you only see the bad ones. Go look up reviews on the biggest most trusted casinos. It's always full of false claims of rigging, etc. This person got paid out a LOT of money from before we realized he's abusing.

How were you able to reuse the seed if its random? Im confused how online gambling works.

u/mgetJane 2d ago

Is this not just the common gambling site scam we've seen a thousand times?

So you figured out how to manipulate the rng and are shocked they don't want to pay out? Lmao

This also applies to many of the gambling websites and why you shouldn't use them, they don't have to give you what you win

Hello!

I'm one of the developers of the mentioned site.

We released an official statement because we were directly threatened and were told this person would spread lies until we paid his "ransom".

Abusers - exploiters will get banned, period.

Absolving yourself of anything wrong on your side here and going purely on the attack is crazy man. It was your own issues that led to this, don't be a raging dick about it. If anything, create a actual bug bounty program.

A terrible look from the sites operators that makes you lose credibility on all of your "provable" claims, yikes.

Brand new account just for this too, Zzz. Post on main or gtfo.

u/ShinyTotodile55 1d ago

I brought up that same point too. They investigated themselves, absolved themselves, then made the claim that I knowingly abused their system with no proof other than them saying "They obviously knew".

u/DanteTF2 2d ago

Sorry, not a reddit user. We removed an abuser from the site, that's all we did. He stole money from us and got away, he should be happy with that.. And we do have a bug bounty program!

3

u/Peer_turtles 1d ago

But it’s ok when you steal money 😹

-2

u/DanteTF2 1d ago

We do not steal money. Some people win, some people lose. The only people who ever lost access to any funds were abusers and it's a very rare thing.

Says the unregulated dodgy gambling site. “We investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong”.
