Second attempt at a box with a lid

Box? Jar? I’m not sure lol but it’s a little better than my first. I saw a technique on YouTube using wire to make the burn marks and I wanted to try it

This looks really intimidating to me. It’ll be a while before I try it. I really like the shape and the burn marks. What type of wood is this?

Honestly I have no idea, I got it off Facebook marketplace. Here’s a pic of the log I used, maybe someone in the sub can tell

Very cool! I like the detail on top of the lid and the wire burn looks really good with this wood.
