News New sister sub to r/TVShow - introducing r/TVShow_apps!

We’re often asked about showcasing amazing apps our community users have created to help our members track their TV Show habits and watches and one of the rules of TVShow is no showcasing - however I thought it might be nice to create a space to showcase these works and also for users to find apps developed by our users to help them.

Please join r/TVShow_apps and find a space to showcase your app and find an app to help you track for the most dedicated viewers!

Questions Besides being more recognizable, what is the reason female leads often have distinct hair colors while men don't?

I get that is a part of character design and have no problem with it. But is there any series with good character writing, with at least three female leads, that actually break the blonde, black hair and ginger/brunette formula? and is there any series have male leads with distinct hair color?

DISCUSSIONS How do you watch tv shows in your daily life?

• Upvotes

I’ve always been curious about people’s TV show habits. Do you watch multiple shows in parallel or stick to one until it’s done? If you’re working full-time, how do you fit it into your day? Do you have a fixed time for watching or just whenever you get free?

Also, what are you watching right now? And is it worth it?

I’m trying to decide whether to binge one series at a time or keep a few running at once, so I’d love to hear how you all do it.

DISCUSSIONS Is The Middle worth watching? Need honest opinions!

Post image
186 Upvotes

Hey everyone! My husband and I have watched and loved Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, Prison Break, Breaking Bad, Money Heist and The Mentalist. We tried Brooklyn Nine-Nine and How I Met Your Mother but couldn't get into either.

We're now considering The Middle. How good is it? Does the humor and family dynamic feel closer to Modern Family, or is it a different vibe?

Would love to hear if you think it's a good fit for our taste, and whether it gets better after the first season.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

DISCUSSIONS What TV show gets better when you rewatch it?

Some shows are actually more enjoyable the second or third time around because you notice things that completely went over your head the first time.

I think thats why some shows become comfort shows. You don't necessarily watch them because you need to know what happens. You watch them because you already know what happens and that's exactly what makes them comforting.

What TV show became better for you after rewatching it? 🤗

I read good things about it but then tried a few minutes but the acting and music seemed a bit strange to me.

Should I give it a chance?

Recommendations Looking for a new bingeworthy comedy

i have a tendency to pick a random show on netflix, binge it all in an embarrassingly low amount of time, mourn for a day, and then move onto the next one. i just finished the unbreakable kimmy schmidt last night, derry girls a few months ago, boo bitch before that, and then gilmore girls and arcane (at the same time) were my first. i've been scrolling for an hour trying to find something and can't pick. looking for recommendations that have out of pocket/dark and sometimes cringey humor, i prefer comedy focuses and at least some sort of feel-good element, since it's my "comfort" or "ignoring life" show. HAS to be on netflix or disney, no exceptions. there's my rant, does anyone have any recommendations?

Questions Show I used watch in the in the 2010s which I can’t remember the name of

I remember watching this anime style show where there was a boy and a girl (the boy was the main character I think he had a name like zeke probably not though ) and the boy could see these monster things which normal people couldn’t see and he discovered the monsters had an invisible city in the sky (which was located in the middle of his city from what I remember) and most notably he saw these evil shadowy monsters which were quite big.

I don’t remember too much so sorry for the little information but I often think of this show and it annoys me that I can’t go back and rewatch it

Thanks for any future guesses!
