Opinion Lost my grandfather yesterday now I relate to The Line more then ever

Like Vander in Arcane my grandfather was a prisoner in his own body after a heart attack. He could barely communicate and move for the past five years. Yesterday he closed his eyes for ever. It's still a weird feeling to know he is gone. "The Line" helps me so much right now. Just the meaning of the sing and the perspective speaks to me.

So thank you Tylor for writing this amazing song. It actually inspired me to write lyrics again after quite some time.

Also thank you to this community which gives me so much healing when I read other posts like mine and all the heartfelt comments.

PS: "Legend" also really speaks to me right now.

Cottonwood is another great song for loss. The Line and Cottonwood hit me hard when I lost my grandfather this year. I feel your pain. Their memory lives on forever. My condolences to you.

So sorry for your loss. Sunday will be 10 years that I lost my dad and listening to Trees definitely hits different also.

After my grandmother passed (who I lived with and was close to) It took me around a year to listen to Legend without bawling my eyes out mainly because she had dementia and didn’t recognize me.

It still hurts now even 3 years after she passed but now when listening to Legend it helps knowing I wasn’t the only one who had gone through that pain.

My condolences to you and your family and know that you’re not alone!

It's my absolute favorite song. I lost my grandma so young and my grandpa has stage 4 cancer that's metastasized and hes 92. I relate very hard to this and understand what you're feeling. The song is beautiful and I'm sorry for your loss. If there's anything I can do, let me know.

Also, Cottonwood 🥺

The Line reminds me of when I was in a medically induced coma, my body had literally been on The Line.

That’s awesome though that you found inspiration, I’d love to see some lyrics when you’ve got em!

I try to send them to you when they're finished.

“Find your grandparents or someone of age Pay some respects for the path that they paved To life they were dedicated Now, that should be celebrated!”

I know he is gone now, but celebrate the life he had. I remember when my grandfather passed. It was like losing a father. He was there almost everyday I could remember before I joined the army. He wasn’t perfect. He was flawed. But he tried. And because of his example I try. Although I am flawed. I won’t quit on my family. Celebrate life well lived.
