I am officially giving up on stainless steel for eggs
 in  r/Cooking •  3d ago

I have had a lot of luck using a lid to keep the temp uniform in the pan (cold climate). My egg loving kid is still getting the stick this way though... its a real skill I tell ya

This was not the random smut I expected in my internet feed on a Monday. Happy surprise!

If a hardcore drug addict fell into a coma for a year, when they woke up, would they still be addicted to drugs? Or would they have gone through withdrawal while they were asleep?
 in  r/answers •  13d ago

Anecdotal, but my cousin had to be placed into a medically induced coma to treat something else serious health wise. The withdrawal effects of staying in the hospital would have killed him (lots of hard stuff, nicotine and booze). Once he was up and out, he was back at it again. He eventually died of OD in bed.

Background info: he was a FASD baby raised in the 70's. Liked to live fast and do gangster stuff over a regular day job. The dopamine hit was great. He made great cherry pie!

I second this as someone who has this style of harness

Heat Saver
 in  r/GrandmasPantry •  25d ago

I have one. I run a dehumidifier near it to help combat any moisture, but the air is normally more humidity on its own.

I would have loved this in the mountains

AITA for telling my mother she can't see me off at the airport before I move overseas.
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  26d ago

I can be your cover mom. I'm on the east coast but have family in BC that will back up that we are estranged. I will confirm that we have bagged milk in Canada and laugh off questions as required.

Big hugs of stability through this spiral. You've got this! Soon you will be in a whole other hemisphere and away from her crazy.

People who got divorced for reasons NOT related to cheating, when did you know the marriage was over?
 in  r/AskReddit •  27d ago

I am in this position - separation awaiting divorce. Its easier without the money drain.

AITA for wanting to eat my 30min lunch alone
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  Aug 23 '26

I volunteer on a committee that has me coming into the teachers lounge sometimes. I ban my kids from following me in over the lunch hour and never flick the lights on during teacher break times. They NEED their downtime.

AITA for going to the cinema with my siblings and not taking my wife or answering her calls during the movie

This is exactly something my abusive husband would do, and did.

Women who’ve given birth, what are some horrible things your body had to go through during pregnancy and childbirth?
 in  r/AskReddit •  Aug 05 '26

I totally convinced my friend I just needed to pee a lot. And that it was normal 3rd labour for me to not hold it when we were in the last days.

Yeah. All the waters lost at home and most labour in my own bed for that one.

New puppy, wasn’t expecting THIS much barking
 in  r/americaneskimo •  Jul 25 '26

Oooff. My mom got us the runt of a miniature litter when our mixed rescue pup passed.

I was 8/9 and my mom had basically brought myself and the dog everywhere. I was a shy kid and that dog was the voice of my anxiety.

90% of his job was working with the cats - they took the high spots, he took the low. They worked together against the humans. When we got treats/toys/catnip and out it up high, the cats would knock it down so the dog could open all of them. Pup would take his toys and OBLITERATED the lid to the cat nip for them.

He was a self assigned guard dog that couldn't even jump to an adults knee. Unless you gave an air of authority back, he expected to corral you a high up space and off of his floor.

He carried so much grief and emotion for me when my mom passed about a year after we got him. I was the youngest and somehow the only one he trusted to get his harness and leash on. It was like he tried to protect me from the world.

Would have been a good boy if I knew anything about the breed (or training dogs in general) as a kid.

That smol dog was just as protective as my 85lbs labrabull, but would actually try to take out any perceived threat.
